I experienced this problem with the torrent for some reason. Using Firefox as well, I just download the .dmg for OS X and couldn't find it for some reason, used Spotlight (Search Function) and installed from there. (Unable to find source) Anyway, just try downloading from the torrent and just remove and redownload if you still can't find it.
