That's a class, right??
Maybe in FATAL
I'm amazed people other than myself are aware of that abomination... (Remember: Anal resilience is a trait in FATAL. EMI JOKES, GO!)

Anyway, as I'm currently playing through Final Fantasy 13, I decided to work with its classes:

Hanako would be a Synergist, whose sole purpose is support abilities and helping out the other guys.

Shizune would be a Commander, big on close-and-personal attacks and buffed by various aspects of the remaining party.

Rin would be a Sentinel, who exists just to draw enemy aggression and soak up damage. (As much like a Sentinel, Rin just stands there.)

Emi would be a Ravager, the quickest of the classes.

Lilly would be a Medic.

Misha, operating under orders from Shizune, would be the Saboteur, whose function is (obviously) dealing out debilitating status effects to the enemy that make it easier to deal the damage.

Oh, so THAT'S what FATAL was. I knew that sounded familiar.

Roll to see if the booty rips

Not sure if this counts as an RPG, par say, but in XCOM: Enemy Unknown, my KS-inspired unit would comprise of (in no particular order):

Hisao - XCOM Commander
Lilly - Psi-augmented Assault trooper (maybe even 'The Volunteer'?)
Hanako - Marksman (Sniper)
Shizune - Aggressive Support trooper
Misha - Heavy Support trooper
Emi - Gene-augmented Assault trooper (?)
Rin - MEC trooper (would need to result in the loss of her legs, though (the universe's justification, not mine!))
Nurse - Science Division
Mutou - Engineering Division
Akira - Either MEC Trooper (big sis' got to keep an eye on her sibling, after all) or a representative of the Council of Nations.
Jigaro - Assault trooper. Definitely.

Well, it has typings, plus the physical/special split.

For the young'ns out there, FATAL is the worst RPG ever written. Not only is the worst, it won so hard the category was closed for all time. Because if there is ever even a contender for the title, WE DON'T WANT TO KNOW ABOUT IT.

You might be able to find a copy out there on the web, but I advise against it unless you want to feel what losing a SAN check is like. What you do want to do is to look up MacLennan & Sartin's hilarious review of the game. If possible, find the review that has the author's rebuttal. Among the gems therein is the following
Reviewer: FATAL is the date-rape RPG.
Author: There is nothing about dating in FATAL.
I am so not making that up.

Anyway, pulling out my favorite old-school RPG, Shadowrun:
  • Lilly: Absolutely a Face. The one that does the talky-talky smiley-smiley and knows everybody.

Hanako: The only character that showed any computer ability gets to be the Hacker.

Shizune: Shaman following Raven, specializing in summoning spirits to do her bidding.

Emi: Street Samurai. She's got a start on the enhancements.

Rin: Adept, using mystic energy to kung fu baddies.

Misha: A hard one to peg. I'm going to give a her a build that has a lot of skill-softs and the like, assisting everybody else and filling in the holes that the others don't have.

As long as we're branching out with our RPG selections...

Shizune sounds like a good Ventrue candidate. Rin might be a Malkavian (she knows things, but good luck getting her to tell you anything coherent). Hanako would be Nosferatu (disfigured, prefers hiding from others). Lilly would maybe be a Toreador? Emi, I'm not sure about, but I would guess Brujah?

So I guess that leaves Misha as the Gangrel.

Kenji would be the annoyingly overexcited ghoul who is eventually just sacrificed for lulz.

Which physical/special split? Pre Gen 4, or post gen 3?

Emi: Fire/Steel Because Emi's a spicy one and she has metal legs.

Rin: ??? Who knows with Rin? And yes, ??? is actually a typing.

Hanako: Ghost/Water Hanako disappears a lot because she's shy and water beats fire.

Lilly: Ground/Grass Lilly is exceptionally down to Earth, plus she literally needs to stay grounded to feel her way around.

Shizune: Psychic/Ice Shizune uses her mind a lot, and she's a defrosting ice queen type character.

Misha: Fairy Nothing else is perky and cute and pink enough to represent Misha accurately.

Coming Soon: Fire Emblem and Mass Effect classes
