How'd you find yourself here?
Through /v/.
At first I was very sceptical of the Game and VNs generally, I mean.. you know.. the usual stigma of Visual Novels being the same as Dating Sims and that if you play one, you suddenly grow a Neckbeard, get fat and will be foreveralone. So.. Yeah, I never even bothered to try it out at that time. Some time passed, and then about a year ago I got caught up again in KS-Thread on /v/. Being stuck with a PC that is outdated and thus unable to run most newer games I found myself bored to death. After seeing the iconic "Give me the Choclate, Hisao"-Comic I thought to myself: "Dude, You've seen the Depths of the Internet, nothing can shock you anymore, so why not try it with a Cripple-Hentaigame?". No sooner said than done, I downloaded the Demo and began to play. And Boy was I wrong...

The writing to me as non-native english speaker was okay, the Prologue & Setting actually managed to tie me down for the weekend and before I realized I rushed through the whole Demo and every possible Route in it. Whats worse: I found myself liking it. The characters were well done, the plot was nothing special at all but still managed to drag me in and I found out that I can actually relate to the MC and how he is uneasy with dealing with People with disabilities (beside his kind of random Shitfits I mean. You know. "No, running is stupid, wububu!" and the like..).
I went in and expected Over-the-Top-Crippleporn and got instead a good read about a delicate subject handled not only in a sensible but in a believable way. After I finished the Demo I began to look for more Input about Katawa Shoujo and what can I say. KS is pretty much what introduced me to the world of VNs. After that I picked up YMK, then Tsukhime and so on. Since then I played most of the well-known and well-liked VNs and still find myself enjoying them (Just finished Quartett, Wahaha!).
While this is actually my first post ever on this board, I come by every now and then to have a read abput the progress of the game and what other people here say about the game.
And I made a bet with myself, that I would donate 500€ to an organzation dedicated to helping people with Disabilites instead of upgarding my PC if KS comes out this year. Well thats about it about me. Nice to meet you all.

Though I'm not sure exactly on the details, as it was quite a traumatizing experience, I believe what happened was I was inside of an extremely dark cave, surrounded 24/7 by a soft and gooey roundish structure (it was really claustrophobic). Out of nowhere, I randomly decided that enough was enough, and I exerted all of my energy to escaping that God forsaken hell hole, only to find myself among mask-wearing alien freaks. Scared out of my mind, I cried out of sheer fear, but to no avail. The aliens proceeded to cut off my food supply and isolate me along with other detainees. It would be several days before I would broke myself out, but even from there it was no walk in the park for me. I was surrounded by creatures that couldn't speak a coherent sentence of English (I think a fellow victim called it "baby talk," whatever the Hell that is), and soon gave in to severe psychosis. It would take many years for me to recover from this traumatizing series of incidents, and I still have a hard time with it today. So that's how I found myself on this particular planet.

...OH, you mean how I found Katawa Shoujo? Easy, someone from a pornsite (Fakku!) recommended it to me. Reliable and brilliant those pornsites are  .

I thought I already apologized for that particular incident. You sapien species certainly do how to hold grudges, although I may not have spoken entirely in english at the time. Its not my fault though. Base sonic communication isn't really my strong point. Dealing with life forms without data sphere connections is such a hassle. If its about the food or the bio pods, well we hadn't realized your species was of class 3 sentience yet so we followed standard live sample procedures. I do hope you are coping well here, because that little bungle was a black mark on my record at the deep space research facility and I need good reviews from the specimens i collected for my next evaluation.

I think I remember seeing a recruitment thread way back when at the Lemmasoft forums, but didn't think much of it at the time other than "Mmkay, good luck with that."

Then the demo came out, and it was glorious.

I found out about KS on the Misfile forums (the same ones Griffon8 comes from), when it was already completed/released. After playing it some, just got over to forums "naturally". (even though I'm not hugely active, that's normal with me and internet forums)

After getting Kenji twice in Act 1 I needed a guide. Google = here. If you mean the actual game then the escapist article about it.

Katawa shoujo or this forum?

Well one of my friends told me about the game (it didn't sound really impressive, date disabled girls) but I tried it anyways.
Wow, what I thought was bad ended up being one of the best games I've ever played - if not the best.
Yes others games are fun, some are more fun than this - but none have made me feel like KS did, I'm maybe even in love with one of the characters - I dont even know :)
My friend later told me that he found it because some guy on 4chan rambled about it.

The forum: I was on the main katawa shoujo site and by accident pressed the "forum" button and ended here :D
After playing Lilly's route I started eating pizza with a knife and a fork ^^ I'm such a gentleman.

I found KS through lots and lots of surfing on the Internet. I don't exactly remember how, but maybe Wikipedia.

This forum, just through the blog.
Warning:

This poster is prone to fits of auto-pilot typing, in which he will make posts with butchered grammar and sentence structure without knowing it.

Act 1 came recommended by a friend on another forum. I made a couple of posts then (possibly under another name; I honestly don't remember), but then I sort of got into just checking for release info every once in a while. Now that the game's out, I'm back.

I read about it on Sankaku Complex, didn't really take any form of action though since i've never played VNs. Then I visit Kira-Fansubs and went on their H website and they posted about KS and that was when I decided that I might as well try it :D and I don't regret it at all!

There was an article about KS on The Escapist which drew my attention. I read the article and there was a link to KS, which was clicked by me immediately. ^^
But the server was a bit overloaded on that day, so I had to wait almost two days until I could download KS. But it was worth it.
