I ended up with Shizune.

Started playing the game expecting Hanako. Fell in love with Shizune instead.

I regret nothing.

I've come to agree with the guys who said earlier that there couldn't be such thing as a natural choice. But the reason is that you can't make your pwn decisions or be yourself. When Mishizune asks you what you would like to know, you will only choose the library if a) you actually like books, which is not my case; b) you are trying to play the role. Of course, this is the natural part. What is not natural is that you'll end up in the library anyway and if you happen to "fall in love" with Hanako, you'll most likely have to lie to yourself in your choices.

...Wait, that happens in real life. I don't know what my point is anymore.
While we are here discussing, Hanako is somewhere hopping from dark to darker tiles. Alone.

Derp, man. Of course people lie to get their girls. But Lilly came naturally to me. I didn't try and get her, I just made the choices I would, in real life, choose. So when I say natural choice, I mean what choices you would pick IRL, with no clear goal in mind.

4 more days, by the way.

I'm spending New Years Eve with Shizune, so there. :)

What Palas is saying is that the choices aren't natural because they're laid out in front of you. If you were actually placed in Yamaku everything would be different. In other words, you're making Hisao's choices, rather than your own. That's how it's not natural. If it were actually natural you'd be making your own decisions rather than Hisao putting up two or three things he would do in that situation.

Screw the choice points altogether, if I were in Yamaku I would have joined the student council almost immediately. That would be natural for me.
It's a good thing Shizune is deaf, she is the only one who can stand (not) hearing "Wahaha~!" over and over.

Also, once I invent the one-shot defictionalization ray, it will be a serious problem, unless Shizune is secretly into harems.
Wait are you talking about "The One" because in that one if there was only one the world would implode or explode or that you'd become a god, that's the one I like. and in the end it was actually 2.

OT: I got Hanako starting off and was happy with it.

I'd be dealing in Yamaku, IRL. As a shimmie poster once said, "You won't believe how much medicinal marijuana they get in Cripple High."

The natural choice thing is interesting because it would lead me totally away from the girls I like and towards the girls I don't. If I saw a typical and bossy girl who was giving out her orders to everyone via an incredibly noisy and boisterous girl, I would probably ask to change class. No joke. Yet Shizune, in the world of anime characters, is one of my favourites KS girls. I'd be less put off by Rin than by Shizune, but still seeing the "lolrandum xD *holds up a spork*" typical art student would make me internally facepalm and just avoid. Oddly, the more I dislike the character in the "syntax" of the VN, the more I think I'd like them in real life, with Hanako probably being the one I'd get along with most, though my favoured place to hang out would be on the grass by the running field and so Emi becomes appropriate too. The only one I like in the mindset of it being a VN who I'd also get along with and feel attracted to in real life is Akira.

I agree with you on a lot of what you said, but seeing as I am a different person, I have my own separate predictions. My high school class being dominated by a controlling bitch with cronies is a terrible fate, but seeing as that takes place in high schools already, I probably did experience it and subsequently repressed it. Rin would probably become a close friend, seeing as she has similar thought processes to mine. In all actuality, I would end up alone in a room, wishing the building would burn down due to all the bloody retarded people that high school is filled to the brim with. That being said, I would be attracted to Lilly, if not for the warm, maternal love that I never really knew. Then I'd boink her brains out. My thoughts, anyway.

Yes, this is true. I would most likely be dying to know Misha better, since I just can't stand someone living someone else's life. And then I'd try to see what she's got.

Oh look, a noob appears!
Noob uses first post!

I stumbled on this game last night. I thought it was some kind of a joke when I read the entry on tvtropes. I tried it because I was bored. Jesus H. Christ was I surprised about how awesome this is. First time ever trying VNs too. I got Lilly on the first go, Hanako second, Emi third, Shizune forth by accident (was trying to go for Rin). Then I failed at getting Rin two times, both ended in manly picnics.

Love this game so far.
Lilly <3
:D

Completion Percentage: 100%

Paths Complete: Lilly, Hanako, Emi, Shizune, Rin

Current Path: Lilly, again.

Funnily, tvtropes showed me the path of light to Katawa Shoujo, too. I also thought at first it to be kind of... lolfetishes, as I read the article about the Nekogirl hospital VN before.
Then it struck me, not made by japanese? Made with knowledge concercing the disabilites and not just an excuse for crippleporn? For free? A demo also included?
You got me, sir.

I managed to score a Kenji ending in two consecutive playthroughs my first time, not even intendedly.

Somehow hanako ended up being my first path. Probably because she has the most self esteem issues of all the girls, and having a low self image myself, I can not only relate but also find her easier to approach. Almost as though I naturally assume shed be too busy focusing on her own issues to pay any attention to mine. Sounds totally wrong somehow but its not supposed to be.

Lilly. Which wasn't a terribly big surprise for me. I didn't actively seek out the answers I thought would lead to her end, but I did recognize as I chose them it would go that way. But at the same time they were the genuine answers I would have given and Lilly is the closest to the one I'd pursue in real life so it all works out. All said that's one thing that's kept me checking in on KS, the responses given make actual logical sense as to who approves and who doesn't instead of the oft random nature of the genre.
