Xbox's Kinect recognizes sign language

Funky. It sounds like it will take the ASL input and transfer it into some sort of audio on the other end (if multiplayer is in mind). Hopefully it does it well. o .O

I'm rather curious as to how it communicates voice input on the other end to the deaf player, though.

Lousy voice-to-text technology a la Youtube, perhaps.

It's Microsoft. They've got better labs and techs than Google

They also have more experience making shitty hardware. The Kinect will be unstoppable!

Yeah, I wonder which geometric shape it will use to replace the Red Ring of Death / Red Dot of Doom...
Maybe the Red Triangle of Destruction?

Microsoft's experience is as a software manufacturer. Considering the original XBOX worked flawlessly I don't see why people keep bitching about the new one breaking so much when they caved to the consumers demands for something smaller.

Because it broke a lot. I'm sorry, did I miss the part where it was okay for a product to break all the time because it's small? Because I certainly missed the part where this had anything to do with Katawa Shoujo.

That may be true but, the original Xbox didn't have MASS EFFECT

So when your 360 breaks, where else are you supposed to play such great games as them?!

(is being purposely ignorant of both Mass Effects being available for PC)

The original Xbox basically was a PC anyway.

And it was glorious as a result!
But no people screamed about it being big and heavy (even though you rarely move the dam thing?) so Microsoft caved and made the next one a lot smaller at the expense of reliability. The consumer has no one to blame but themselves for the XBOX 360's lack of reliability.

On topic:
To be honest I wouldn't want a deaf person to tell me "I pwned your ass noob" just as much as any other person telling me that. That being said I don't understand how they would be able to respond to me talking to or about them in the first place.

I don't think it's going to try actual translation, it just has a few common phrases to choose from.

This isn't a tragedy, you have to get the basics right before you bother with something as complex and subtle as sign language and if you've been watching the videos, they haven't got the basics yet.
