Why do you insist on cutting out the ero?

Like your main audience now and forever isn't 4chan, who are mostly interested in the game for the unique concept of having romantic relationships with a series of broken goods.

Wake up and smell the semen.
wtf I thought you were dead. Also, agreed.

Just to clarify things:

THIS GAME WILL HAVE SEX. PENORS WILL GO INTO VAGOOOS.

What is in question is whether to have an option, another version, or somesuch, that allows people who don't want to see the naughty bits get their disabled romance fix.

Well, on the one hand I don't think there's a substantial amount of people who will play the non-H version (given the existence of an H one), but on the other hand it seems like a fade to black wouldn't be hard to do at all.

By this point it becomes a "why not?" sort of thing.

Who will play the non-ero version: children who fear their parents (and have parents that wouldn't want them viewing such scenes), people who want to read a 'good story' (it better be ;)) without having to read porn scenes - they exist!

Personally, I can see a black screen with big white letters saying 'SMEX HAPPENS'. <_> And then the next scene. ;)

Maybe we could do like Leirusre Suit Larry 3 and have a 4-question quiz at teh beginning, and if you fail to pass it, the blinds on the changing girl in the frst scene doesn't go up.

I guess my wording was misleading.

I wasn't suggesting that it was going to be removed all together, rather that the whole idea of ero in this game is kind of reluctantly tackled. As if to say 'Oh well, we'll have ero in it, if we must', despite it being one of the main attractions to this game, along with such other things as the uniqueness of concept behind the game.

And I guess I did miss the Clannad translation, not really visiting /a/ much and not caring about anything Key shits out.

Okok, but that's just you extrapolating on crud's remark. I don't think anyone else is at all reluctant towards the subject, and possibly not even him.

I'm not reluctant to do it.

I know that all of the wirters have expresed a bit of trepidation twards actaully *writing* it (except for Suriko, who took all of five scenes before trying to give everyone a boner).

What I don't want, however, is a full-on fuck-fest like School Days or something like that. And, since that's what was decided, we're now all writing some pretty interesting stories; stories that we want people to read.

However, after thinking about this a bit more, I do know of a lot of people that will want to read the stories that we have written, but potentially won't want to read about precisely how slippery someone's vagina is. Hell, there's even a bunch of people that buy TMA films just to see more of their favourite characters. Basically, there are people out there that find the idea of reading about sexual acts slightly more repugnant than your usual /h/ or /d/ visitor, but still want to read this VN.

Instead of thinking of an "all ages version" maybe just think of it as an extra option on the menu; like those old games that let you choose the level of blood that was displayed.

If you want to experience the game as it was written, then you leave the settings at their default.
If, however, you just want to read the stories, then you can set it on and it will get you past all of that embarrassing stuff.

That's what this discussion is about, not hiding the prons from the people that want to see it.

Haha, this would be interesting. I can imagine a number of people being pissed off not being to pass it and fuming in frusteration. But I think it's one of the better solutions proposed so far.

First off, if the sex is taken out, seeing as this is a game about people with disabilities, it could and would reach out to the numerous disabled people around the world. If we cater this game towards them, as well as the original audience with the non-H version, and the perverts with the regular version, we may be able to reach out to a very large audience.
Maybe it's just me, but I feel like disabled people will probably take this game in a bad way, H or no-H. Just the premise of having such a setting sort of serves to further ostracize them from society as into their own little ghetto of cripples. But then again, if the dialogue is sincere, convincing, and relevant enough, maybe it won't come off like that.

You do realize that the main character himself is disabled. Do you? Meaning, this is not a game about some lucky guy dating disabled girls, this is a game about a disabled guy dating girls like him in some way. Not only does this enforce the fact that this isn't a game about picking up disabled girls and bedding them, this game puts the player in the shoes of a person who's heart could stop or explode at any moment, yet tries to continue living and loving, despite his condition.

So tell me, if you watched a dramatic film about a disabled person trying to live his life to the fullest, do you always keep your mind on the same train of thought that every single thing about it is just to destroy the reputation of disabled people? If you saw a disabled man trying to live his life and love the opposite sex, do you consider that perverse and degrading, such as how you placed your opinion? How about a game that TRIES to make you feel the pain of what disabled people have, yet shows you that despite people having disabilities, they are still living, breathing, normal people? If you don't like this game at all, then why even bother then.
This is a block of text that can be added to posts you make. There is a 255 character limit.

Cue manly tears. ;_;

But seriously the game will more likely have negative appeal to actual disabled people (on average). But that's all right.

Supposing that the story and writing are actually worthwhile, I'd be pretty interested in a non-H version, for one. But I agree with others that the H scenes should be important enough to the story that you can't just take them out and have everything still run smooth. Like, say the main character and one of the girls have a really touching or plot-hinging moment during one of them - fade to black doesn't work perfectly in that case, and honestly that's the way I'd prefer things to be. I'd rather have H-scenes that actually matter.

All that said, I know that this would be more work, but it would be great if there could be a non-H version written after you make the original one. Maybe you could just make the with-sex version first, then wait to see how much demand you get? I haven't played much VNs in the past, but I love Clannad and that doesn't have any sex. If your game is well written enough to be fun without the sex, which I have every hope that it will be, then I'd definitely rather download a PG-13 version.

As I think I mentioned, there are people out there like that; crazy innocents that would prefer not to see the totally natural act of copulation.

The "Fade to black" option would appeal greatly to these people, as they would *know* what just went on, but wouldn't be forced to read the fap-inducing parts. DIfferent strokes for differnet folks. That kind of thing, only less innuendo-related.
