Head canon accepted. This is what should have happened in the game after Hisao comforted Misha. Nicely done! So very consistent with Shizune's competitiveness. I'm glad you didn't work too hard to cut the explicit content—this is one story where the sex is very integral to the plot, and it's needed.

Also, it's hot.

And also, damn it—I'm ~14,000 words into a Shizune story that I now feel like I need to completely revise, if not scrap altogether. You've given me too much food for thought on Shizune's nature...

Ah, well. Such is the writer's life.
Ha--I dunno if I'd re-write your Shizune to fit the one from this story, I definitely exaggerated her personality to enable the smut. But I'm glad you liked it! I was rather surprised that no story like this one exists yet, from what I could see, as it seems like such an obvious premise. Odds are it's probably been written out there somewhere but I've never seen it.

Okay, here's the story I wrote for the Discord's Christmas Contest. Just a silly meme story that I had fun writing.

Snowed In

As I step outside and look around the school grounds, I realize the irony of my surroundings. Snow covering everything, all the trees and other plant life dead and withered, not another student in sight—Yamaku seems deserted and gloomy in late December, compared to the vibrance and life it displayed when I first arrived here. Yet inwardly, I feel that I’ve progressed in the opposite manner. I don’t know if I can exactly say I feel “vibrant and alive,” but I’m definitely a lot closer to it than I was eight months ago.

My first week in particular was rough. I pretty much blew all my chances at making some new friends, then I somehow wound up on the school’s roof with my hallmate, drinking whiskey and ranting about feminist conspiracy theories while the school festival was going on below us. Not exactly my proudest moment. Looking back, I think it was actually my lowest moment. At one point I even lost my balance and stumbled dangerously close to a broken section of fence, coming just a couple steps away from toppling over to an untimely demise. Maybe I’ll die early, but I didn’t plan on it being that early.

When I stepped back away from the fence that night, when I realized what could have happened, what almost did happen, how quickly it all could have ended—that sobered me up, in more ways than one. It’s been hard making up for lost time but I’m determined to do it. Ironically, of all the people, the one who’s helped me the most has been the one I least expected to. Kenji always kept me occupied one way or another, whether it’s spying on the Student Council’s “after-hour activities” or building a “high-tech security system” for my room, if it isn’t one thing it’s another. I can’t tell how much of his crazy crap he really believes, though the more I hang out with him, the more suspicious I’m getting on that front. Whether it’s honest insanity or just a big game, it keeps some color in my life, reminds me that there are things worth doing for no reason besides that they’re weird and fun and amusing.

At the same time, I’ve tried to do my part in keeping Kenji somewhat tethered to reality, making sure he doesn’t disappear into his room for more than a day or two at a time, reminding him to study, dragging him along to the store to buy provisions besides only whiskey and pretzels, things like that. I feel like we actually complement each other fairly well, like maybe I’m the Shizune to his Misha, or the Lilly to his Hanako. Speaking of those girls, I’ve gotten to know all of them to one extent or another, making some casual friends that I can see and hang out with occasionally. It’s tough to spend time with them when I have to get away from Kenji first, for obvious reasons, but tonight I’m hoping to change that.

It’s Christmas Eve and I’ve been invited to a “Christmas Party” in the girls’ dorm, hosted by the Student Council. I feel like it probably violates a school regulation or six, but if Shizune wants to make it happen, I’m sure she can bend the rules as needed. This prospect was exciting enough before I asked if I could bring another friend along. “Is it another boy~?”, Misha had asked with a weird tone to her voice. I had expected her to frown and decline when I told her that it was; much the opposite, she and Shizune both looked delighted, insisting that yes, my friend should definitely come along.

So maybe bringing Kenji along to this shindig won’t be a total disaster. That’s what I’m trying to tell myself. It’s probably a terrible idea but I just can’t hang out with him alone in our little bubble anymore. I want to branch out into a broader social circle, which means that I either have to leave Kenji behind or drag him along behind me. I appreciate the guy so I’m going to try to do the latter. The rest will be up to him. He does have his trademark flask of whiskey, so if he gets too rowdy, I’ll blame it on the booze. They should be pretty understanding of that after the situation with Hanako and that bottle of wine.

Speaking of booze, I could use some liquid courage myself. I hold my hand out and Kenji places the flask in it, knowing implicitly what the gesture means. I give him a manly nod before taking a manly swig of the manly drink. That’s right, I’m a manly man. I’m going to a party with six cute girls and a crazy woman-hating whiskey-swilling wingman. I can do this. Hisao Nakai, lady-killer extraordinaire!… right? Right! I sigh as I feel the whiskey burning down my throat, warming my insides to stave off the chill air of winter.

“Severe conditions tonight, soldier. We’ll have adequate weather cover for the operation,” Kenji asserts as we set off across the grounds, heading for the “insertion point,” as he described it earlier. “Smart planning on your part, as always.”

I didn’t plan this, Shizune did, but whatever.

“Yeah, we’re supposed to get a blizzard tomorrow, huh? It is good timing, we can go ahead and get in there right before it starts,” I agree.

He nods, pulling his scarf up to guard his face against the whipping wind. The snow’s coming down harder than I anticipated, so we pick up the pace, trying to get out of it as soon as possible. Man, it really is biting cold out here… my eyes narrow as I begin squinting to see through the sheets of white. It’s been snowing all day but all of a sudden now, it seems like it’s become a full-fledged snowstorm. Wasn’t this supposed to happen tomorrow?

“Is it just me or is the blizzard coming a day early?” I yell to Kenji.

“Seems like it, soldier! They’ve manipulated the weather to try and block our mission, the clever bastards!”

“Should we just go back?”

“Are you joking? If you can’t handle a blizzard, you’ll never be able to handle feminists!”

He’s probably right on that one—storms probably are easier to deal with than girls, I figure. Raising our arms up as shields, we take off at a jog to clear the rest of the distance as quickly as possible. I’m panting pretty hard by the time we get there, my chest thumping painfully, but it’s nothing dangerous. All those runs with Emi really have made a difference. Kenji on the other hand isn’t even slightly winded… never will figure out how he does that. He puts his hand on the door handle leading into the girls’ dorm and I put my hand over his to stop him.

“Okay, Kenji,” I start. “One last time. You’re good? Right? No uhh? No talking about feminism, or the struggle, or anything like that?”

We’d already been over this several times. Kenji assured me every time that it wouldn’t be a problem. Obviously, I remained skeptical.

“Of course, dude, of course! You keep acting like this is my first time in the field! Remember who you’re talking to. I know the score, man. We’re going in deep here—I won’t compromise our identities, no matter what. Not even if they break out the neural disentanglers!”

The what? I don’t ask, that’s been my policy for a while now.

“Alright,” I say, exchanging a slow nod of understanding with him. I’m looking for any hint of emotion that might confirm or deny his sincerity. Alas, those thick glasses make him impossible to read. Another thing that I’ve begun to grow suspicious of as I hang out more with Kenji. It’s really odd how sometimes his vision seems to be on par with Lilly, while at others, he’s perfectly perceptive…

Well. Here goes nothing, I suppose. I turn the handle and we step into the lobby together.

“Hicchan~!!”

I immediately wince at the overpowering volume of Misha’s voice, then the exceptionally obnoxious party favor noisemaker she uses. Even Shizune gives her a look that says “settle down.” The furniture of the lobby has been arranged into a rough circle with a little Christmas tree set up in the middle, four girls sitting around it: the Student Council, Emi, and Rin. No Lilly or Hanako, though. Maybe they’re putting on makeup or something.

“And~! Hicchan’s friend! What’s your name?” Misha asks Kenji.

“’Sup,” Kenji says. “It’s Setou. Kenji Setou,” he says, putting on a bit of an exaggerated swagger. Not too exaggerated, though, by his usual standards. Maybe he has things under control after all.

“Shicchan says, nice to meet you!”

“Yeah, you two run the Student Council, right? Nice work putting this whole thing together. Looks like you run a tight ship!” Kenji says.

“Oh yes~! We’re tight, alright. Very tight! Wahaha~!” Misha says.

I look aside quickly to suppress my grin, seeing one rise on Rin’s face as well. Emi doesn’t even try to hold back her laughter.

“I’m Emi Ibarazaki,” she says in between chuckles.

Rin nods at Kenji. They’ve actually met before, though only in passing.

“The best runner and the best painter in the school, huh? Didn’t know you kept such esteemed company, dude,” Kenji says, elbowing me in the ribs.

“Yep! The fastest thing on—” Emi starts.

“—no legs!” Kenji finishes with her. “Heard that one at the last track meet.”

Kenji hasn’t ever been to a track meet.

“Well!” I say, trying to move things along. “I like the decorations! It, uhh! Does look like you put some stuff together!” I continue, nodding at the Christmas tree. “And are those presents I see under it?”

“Yep, yep~! We’re gonna play a game!” Misha says excitedly.

Oh boy. Of course Shizune has to make it a game somehow. Emi gets that look on her face at the word “game” and I already know this is going to be one of those games played at my expense.

“So where are Hanako and Lilly? I thought they were coming too?” I ask.

“They went to the store to pick some stuff up,” Rin says.

“Oh, umm. About that,” I say. “The weather took a real turn for the worse right when we were walking over here. They might have gotten stuck in it. Especially if Hanako’s trying to lead Lilly, then… they might have a hard time of it.”

Shizune’s face immediately grows concerned. She gets up and peeks through the curtains to see outside for a moment, then throws them back entirely to show us the windows, now looking genuinely worried.

“Oh boy,” Emi says flatly.

“It looks like we’re in a cloud. A really angry one,” Rin says.

That is an apt description. Outside the storm has matured into a furious blizzard, with near-zero visibility and an audible whistle leaking into the building from the sheer speed of the winds.

“Oh no~, no no no! Shicchan, Hicchan!” Misha says, the panicked note in her voice saying the rest.

“Don’t worry about it,” Kenji says, already pulling his scarf back up to his face. “What else are men good for, if not rescuing women? We’ve got this!”

Isn’t that a little bit sexist? If so, the situation is too tense for anyone to fret over it.

“Is there anyone we can call? Maybe there’s a security guard around?” I ask, trying to think of the safest way to handle this. The girls all look unsure, even Shizune. Before we can come up with anything further, Kenji whirls right around and marches out the door.

“Kenji!” I yell after him.

I hear gasps of surprise go up from the girls. It’s too late to sit around any longer… if I wait even a minute or two to go after him, I might not be able to find Kenji. I just react without thinking and run outside too, even though I know it’s probably not the smartest thing to do. I have no idea how we’re supposed to go anywhere or find anything under these conditions. It seems like there are pretty good odds that we’ll just get ourselves lost and frozen alongside the friends we were hoping to save.

“Kenji!” I yell again, jogging up to him. “Hold up, hold up! We need to think about this!” I implore him.

“I did think about it!” Kenji assures me. “What better way to gain their trust than by rescuing their kin? We’ll have them practically wrapped around our finger!”

“Kenji, dude! Seriously! This isn’t the time for… that!” I insist. “We’re gonna freeze out here!”

Visibility out here is totally gone. The sky’s gone dark in a big hurry; the lashing of the wind stings my face and I can already feel a deep cold seeping into my skin. The snow on the ground has to be at least a foot deep, probably growing deeper rapidly with how much of the stuff is dumping itself down on us. This isn’t a game, it’s legitimately dangerous to be outside right now. Even still, Kenji stops and looks me dead in the eye.

“No, bro. This is exactly the time for acts of manliness,” he says. “Trust me. It’s the right thing to do.”

Maybe it is the right thing to do, even if not for the reasons he has in mind. Interesting choice of wording on his part. I look behind me and realize that we’ve already totally lost sight of the dorm building. Now we might as well be wandering an empty, endless white void, for all we can see. Guess we’re doing this right or wrong, at this point. Doesn’t seem like there’s any going back.

“Do you even know where to go?!” I yell at Kenji.

“Of course! Just follow my lead!”

Fucking hell. This is going to be how I die, isn’t it? I do as Kenji bids me, forcing my way forward in his footsteps. The big dents he leaves behind in the snow are helpful places to plant my own feet. Once again, he’s somehow able to just bull ahead despite the force of the storm, his stride tall and powerful. Me on the other hand, I’m hunched over and struggling to keep up, but I’m right there with him. I have no idea where we’re going—right when I think it might be time to yell at him again, I think I can hear something through the howling of the wind.

It’s faint, but it’s definitely there.

“Bro? You hear that?” Kenji yells, looking back at me.

“Help! Someone! Is anyone out there?!”

I nod at him and he turns sharply, presumably making a beeline for the sound. I can’t tell where the hell it’s coming from with all the swirling winds, and I hope to the heavens that Kenji somehow can. My prayers are answered as a pair of huddled figures come into view just ahead. As we run up, I can see Lilly has fallen down in the snow, wrapping herself protectively around Hanako. I can’t see Hanako’s face but even under these conditions I can see how bad she’s shivering. Kenji immediately crouches down beside Lilly and places a hand on her shoulder.

“Hey! Don’t worry, the rescue team is here now! We’re gonna bring you in!” he assures her.

Even through her distress, Lilly looks confused by this, but not ungrateful.

“Kenji?” she asks.

“Yes! And Hisao!” I tell her, kneeling down on her other side. “The other girls said you were out here, and we figured you might need some help!”

“Goodness, I don’t know what I was going to do! Thank you!” Lilly yells back.

She wraps one arm under Hanako’s shoulders and another around Kenji; I take Hanako’s other side and we all lift together. I spot Lilly’s cane in the snow next to me and make sure to grab that as well, then we’re off, with Kenji and Lilly seeming to naturally dictate our direction. I’m just gonna trust them at this point. I guess being vision-impaired has its advantages.

“I thought the storm was forecast for tomorrow!” Lilly says. “Hanako was so scared, she tried to help me run, but we just fell down, and…”

“It’s okay!” Kenji reassures her. “All under control now. Here we are!”

And just like that, we’re back in the lobby of the girls’ dorm. I realize that we probably didn’t end up going more than fifty yards from it, though it felt like an epic journey through a vast wasteland. All four of us are damn lucky that worked out as well as it did. I hand Lilly her cane back and we all make our way over to an empty couch, throwing ourselves down and heaving with exhaustion. Kenji even busts out the flask and takes a swig—I feel the urge to say something to him before Shizune writes us up or whatever but I just can’t muster the energy right now.

The president is too preoccupied attending to us to notice, it seems. All the other girls are gathered around the couch with concerned looks on their faces.

“Are you okay, Lilly-chan, Hana-chan?” Misha asks.

“I can’t believe you guys actually went out there and got them!” Emi says.

“Yeah~! You’re like heroes!” Misha agrees.

“Hell yeah we are,” Kenji says, puffing his chest out a bit.

“Ehh, it’s like Kenji said. What else are us guys good for?” I say.

“I guess you never made it to the store,” Rin observes.

“Shicchan says, it’s lucky you didn’t get very far from the dorms before the storm came!”

While we’re talking, Lilly turns and hugs Kenji, then reaches past Hanako to pat my shoulder in thanks as well.

“My my, I’m sorry to have worried everyone. I believe we are deeply in your debt,” Lilly says. “However will we make it up to you, I wonder?” she asks, with a bit of an odd lilt to her voice.

“Th-thank you…” Hanako manages to say. She’s still shivering a bit but already looking more lively than she was outside. She wasn’t moving too well when we were hauling her back in… I was pretty worried that she might have some kind of actual hypothermia. It looks like we managed to avoid that. She’s smiling timidly up at me through her frost-reddened face.

“You s-saved me, Hisao…” she mumbles, before throwing her arms around me in a hug. I’m taken off-guard by this, though I tentatively hug her back. I lift my arms up again after a moment, only to realize that she isn’t breaking off the hug.

“Uhh, well… really, Kenji did most of it. I was kinda just along for the ride,” I say sheepishly.

“No way, dude! You don’t have to be humble about it. I couldn’t have done it alone!” Kenji says.

I realize that he and Lilly have snuggled up pretty close on the other side of the couch. She seems to have done a better job hiding it than Hanako but Lilly was exposed to the same elements just now… she’s probably also freezing cold.

“Is it… okay, if we st-stay like this?” Hanako suddenly asks me. “You’re so w-warm…”

Jeez, where did this come from? I’ve never seen her be so forward. Except for when…

“Probably a good idea,” Kenji comments. “Sharing body heat is a standard survival technique to ward off hypothermia!”

“Well. I guess we have no choice then, do we?” Lilly says with a giggle. I realize that she and Kenji have their arms around each other now, too, and unlike me, Kenji looks totally comfortable with the arrangement. Yep—Lilly and Hanako have definitely been drinking again. I can just imagine how this afternoon played out for them. Akira stopped by, dropped off her Christmas present, which was a bottle of wine or three, and they decided to go ahead and imbibe before the festivities began. Also explains their poor judgment in wanting to make a random store run. Well, hopefully Shizune and Misha won’t figure it out.

I tentatively put one of my arms around Hanako’s shoulder, noticing the smug grin on Emi’s face as I do so. I glare at her in response, daring her to say something.

“It’s almost not fair, you four get to have snuggle buddies!” Emi says as the other girls return to their seats. “And I’m all alone over here…”

Apparently daring her to say something was the wrong move.

“Is that so~? We can be snuggle buddies if you want, Emi-chan! Wahaha~!” Misha offers.

Emi gives Shizune a look and I see some kind of silent exchange pass between their eyes, the kind only girls can understand. I’m not sure what it means but I can tell that Emi is pretty satisfied with the outcome, whatever it is.

“Okay! Thanks!” Emi answers Misha, getting up and throwing herself down next to the pink-haired girl. Seemingly emboldened by our lead, they also wrap their arms around each other with a surprising degree of familiarity. This little party has gotten awfully cozy awfully fast, I think. Maybe I’ll end up being a lady-killer after all… I halfway expect Rin and Shizune to pair up as the spares, but they don’t, staying in their seats on opposite sides of the little Christmas tree.

“Does the party officially start now? I’m not sure how parties really work,” Rin says.

Shizune stands up and snaps as if to say “Yes!” before signing a few things.

“That’s right, Ricchan!” Misha conveys. “Party time~! Party time~! Yay~! Ahaha~! Of course, we have to start by opening our party favors!”

Shizune nods in agreement and takes one of the larger packages out from under the tree. Unwrapping it, she pulls a large glass bottle out of it. That’s… no way. Really?

“…Liquor?” I ask her incredulously.

She gives me a stern look, like I’m the one who’s doing something wrong here.

“Is that a problem, Hicchan?” Misha asks, suddenly sounding rather severe.

“Uhhh. No, it’s just—I kind of thought you guys wouldn’t allow that in the dorms. It’s—against the rules,” I point out, already feeling like a total nerd for even saying it. Shizune frowns and signs furiously, putting the bottle aside for a moment.

“You thought we were no fun just because we’re on the Student Council, Hicchan? Is that it? Don’t you remember all your little parties with Hana-chan and Lilly? We didn’t say anything about that, did we? We knew what you were doing!” Misha translates.

“That’s true, but… you know what, never mind. Never mind me,” I say.

It’s not like I’ve never drank in the dorms. Hell, hanging out with Kenji, it’s become more of a habit for me than it probably should be. Shizune adjusts her glasses with a look of satisfaction, probably thinking she’s won some kind of battle.

“We’re glad you understand, Hicchan. It’s a holiday! Everyone is allowed to relax a little bit~! Wahaha~!” Misha says.

This is a bit more “relaxing” than I was expecting, but I’m certainly not complaining. I thought we would just play cards or something, at best, and at worst, I thought Kenji would get us totally kicked out. Things are going surprisingly well. I thought I’d gotten to know all of these girls but I’m pleased to find that there’s still more to them than I first imagined. Shizune goes and retrieves a set of glasses from somewhere nearby, pouring generous portions of the liquor into them before distributing them to all in attendance, complete with a straw for Rin’s. I take a sip of mine; it’s actually not bad, it’s got a fruity sort of flavor to cover the burn of the alcohol. Next to me, I see Hanako taking more of a gulp than a sip, followed by a long, satisfied hum.

“Mmmm… it’s so warm…” she says happily, taking another drink.

“Mind if I try it?” I ask her, taking the glass and setting it down on the ground, out of her reach. I need to make sure she paces herself at least somewhat. Luckily, she seems to forget about the drink as soon as it’s out of her hands, instead snuggling herself up closer to me than ever. Her head is resting on my shoulder now and my arm is wrapped firmly around her waist. I can’t pretend that I’m not enjoying this but I’m also a bit concerned about where it’s ultimately going to go. Guess we’ll just see how the night progresses.

“Shall we begin the festivities in earnest?” Lilly asks, raising her own glass and clinking it against Kenji’s before they both drink.

I’m not sure what she means by that, though I soon find out as Shizune points to the rest of the presents under the tree, then begins signing again.

“Okay, okay, okay~! The Student Council has prepared a special game for a special night! It’s called: Santa Says~!” Misha explains.

I don’t know what that could possibly mean, but I just have a gut feeling that it can’t be anything good.

“It’s basically like Truth or Dare. But~! You don’t get to pick which one, or even what your Truth or Dare is! You just open a box and that’s what you have to do. So there’s no funny business at all, Santa just tells you your task! Wahahaha~!” Misha continues.

Yep. There’s no way this is going to turn out well.

“We, uhh? Don’t get any choice at all?” I ask hopefully.

“What’s wrong, Hicchan? Afraid you’ll have to do something you don’t want to?” Emi teases me.

“Oh, I wouldn’t be so smug. I don’t have much dignity left to lose at this point. You lot, on the other hand…” I shoot back.

It doesn’t wipe the smirk off her face but it’s enough to silence the banter for now.

“What if we don’t need our dignity tonight, either?” Lilly asks, phrasing it more as a question to the room than to me in particular. She follows it up with a light giggle, which some of the other girls match. Even Shizune looks highly amused. I suddenly realize that if Shizune is actually okay with alcohol in the dorms, maybe Hanako and Lilly weren’t the only ones engaging in a bit of pre-party pre-gaming. Am I actually the most sober person in this room right now?

I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a terrifying thing.

“Okay, okay~! I’ll go first!” Misha exclaims, pulling a gift bag out from under the tree. Inside is a notecard, which must have her “Santa” message on it. “Santa saaaays~… Truth! ‘Who was the last person you kissed?’ Ahaha~! Ahhhh… wahahaha~!”

Misha laughs and looks around awkwardly, clearly not sure how to answer, then turns and gives Emi a quick peck on the cheek. Both of them are blushing afterwards, and neither is willing to look at the other for a moment.

“There~! It’s Emi-chan! Wahaha~!”

“Wait… did you kiss her just now?” Lilly asks, with a bit of pout. “That’s cheating, isn’t it?”

“Nope, nope, nope~! It doesn’t say how long ago, Lilly-chan!”

Shizune nods her head sagely in agreement. Technically within the rules, it seems. The game goes around the room from there, one “present” for each person, some more risqué than others. Emi’s “Truth” just asks what her favorite flavor of parfait is—guess Misha wrote that one—to which she responds “bubblegum,” a bit of a weird choice, but whatever floats her boat. Didn’t even know they had bubblegum flavored parfaits, to be honest. Lilly gets “Dared” to sit on someone’s lap for the rest of the party, which isn’t too hard for her to fulfill, as she seems more than willing to sit on Kenji.

I still can’t believe he’s handling this all so well, but to be fair, this is legitimately the first time I’ve hung out with him and the girls together. I guess I just never gave the guy enough credit. It’s his turn up next and he draws truth: “What is your deepest secret?” That’s pretty ballsy to ask someone, sounds like something Shizune would try and pull. Kenji thinks for a moment, takes a nice long drink, then answers.

“Japan is secretly run by a matriarchal cabal of feminists bent on crushing all men under their heels, and I’m the only one who knows it, the last hope of mankind in a world gone mad,” Kenji says without a shred of sarcasm.

Oh lord. I guess this had to happen sooner or later, once enough alcohol was consumed. The room is silent for a moment.

“…Wahahaha~!”

Then it bursts into laughter from all the girls combined. Even Rin is chuckling a bit, while Shizune is performing her trademark silent shakes of mirth. Me on the other hand, I breathe a sigh of relief and polish off my drink. Kenji gives me a quick sideways glance, as if to say, “See dude? Totally got this!”

Have to give him credit, he pulled that off.

“That’s a good one, Ken-chan~! Feminist… what was it? Cabinet? Ahahaha~!” Misha goes on.

“I guess Shizune’s the chief matriarch of our school, huh?” Rin muses.

“And this party is a trap we lured you guys into to capture and torture you!” Emi chimes in.

Sometimes it sort of seems that way.

“Don’t worry… I’m not a f-feminist! I won’t b-bite!” Hanako assures me with another small fit of giggles.

“Good to know,” I respond dryly.

Once the amusement finally dies down, it looks like my turn next. Hanako leans forward, takes a box and hands it to me.

“Remember… if it’s too em-embarrassing, you don’t have to do it, okay?” she says.

“Thanks,” I say. “Maybe Misha wrote this one and it’ll just be something else about parfaits. That’s what I’m hoping for, at least.”

“Hey~! I did write something else besides parfaits!” Misha protests. “I asked, ‘What is the one thing you want to eat before you die?’ Mine is a matsusaka beef steak! Wahaha~! Ahh—sorry Shicchan!”

Shizune seems to be scolding her for giving away one of the truths and answering it out of turn, even though it was such a trivial question. I cross my fingers that Misha’s is indeed the item now before me. Let’s get this over with. I open the box and—

—it’s—

—some kind of… plant?

A collective gasp goes up from everyone else in the room, and suddenly Hanako’s face turns red, bright red. The hell is going on?

“Uhh? What’s this all about?” I ask, taking it in one hand and holding it up to examine it.

“Dude,” Kenji says, his voice deadly serious. “That’s mistletoe,” he declares, as if it’s a lethal poison.

“And? What does that mean?” I ask.

“It’s a tradition from the West. Whoever is under the mistletoe has to kiss,” Rin says, her voice dry and monotone, like this is a completely mundane and harmless fact.

“What?!” I blurt out, dropping the stuff like it really is poison.

“Ah ah ah~! Too late, Hicchan! You held it up over you and Hana-chan! The rules are the rules! Ahahahaha~!” Misha says.

I look to Hanako for salvation, my own face quickly turning as red as hers.

“But… if it’s too embarrassing… we don’t have to do it, right?”

Shizune gives me a death glare, but doesn’t contradict me.

“Well… yes… b-b-but…” Hanako stutters. “We should really pl-play the g-game, if we can… or we’ll be… bad sp-sports, right?” she asks, looking up at me with huge puppy-dog eyes.

Fucking damn it. Why did it have to be drunk Hanako? Regular Hanako would never go along with this! It’s not like I don’t want to kiss her, of course I do, I’ve wanted to for months now, but—this isn’t exactly the circumstances I wanted to do it under! Hanako’s face shifts up right close to mine, not quite bold enough to do it, but clearly wanting to. The room is silent with all eyes on us. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Kenji give me the slightest of nods, granting his fellow soldier permission to act. Alright then.

I just kiss her.

The room goes up in cheers and I immediately break away in embarrassment, my stomach churning with butterflies and my face burning hot. Misha is doubled over laughing across from me and Hanako, while Emi gives us a whistle and an “About time!” I give them both withering glares, which don’t do much of anything, but I need somewhere else to look besides at Hanako. I still catch myself looking at her sideways before long. She seems… disappointed, somehow, but certainly not upset. She’s still latched firmly around my torso. That’s… probably a good thing?

I don’t even know at this point. I realize how much I’m feeling the alcohol now, as well. Guess that light feeling in my head wasn’t only from the kiss. I keep up with the rest of the game as best as I can, though I find it hard to care or pay much attention now that I’ve done my part. Try as I might, I can’t get the thought of that kiss out of my head, nor think about much else besides Hanako’s warm body pressed tight against mine. It seems like she’s clutching onto me harder than ever. By now I’m pretty comfortable with it, I just don’t know what I’m going to do when I inevitably have to get up.

Where am I going to go when I do get up? Can I even get back to the boys’ dorm with that blizzard raging outside? I’m not keen on trying, though maybe Kenji can make some magic happen again. All of a sudden I feel the unmistakable press of lips against my cheek—I turn aside quickly in surprise and Hanako rewards me with another brief kiss, right on my lips, then closes her eyes and settles her head down into my shoulder, sighing happily. I’m literally struck dumb, my mouth hanging open with nothing to say. Maybe this is a good time to put her to bed.

“I’m, uhh. I think maybe I should put Hanako to bed?” I offer tentatively.

Emi immediately waggles her eyebrows at me.

“Oh, I bet you will,” she says.

Shut up you, I think.

“Are we going to b-bed now? We can get in bed…” Hanako says to me, giggling drunkenly.

“Well, you are. I dunno if I am,” I respond.

“I don’t know about that, Hicchan~! Wahahaha~!” Misha teases me.

“Where else will you go?” Lilly says. “You can’t go back across campus in this dreadful weather. Surely, Kenji will have to stay the night over in our dorms. And you as well, Hisao.”

What has gotten into these girls? I’m starting to think Kenji was right all along, that this is their master plan to capture us and take us hostage. I look to Shizune but she seems to be in agreement.

“Shicchan says, it’s for your own safety, Hicchan~! You have no choice!”

“That’s—that’s r-right!” Hanako says, poking me firmly. “You’re staying over! No ch-choice!”

“I guess it’s settled then,” Kenji says. “Thanks for offering, we really appreciate it.”

“Oh, it’s our pleasure!” Lilly says with a little laugh of her own, sounding nearly as inebriated as Hanako.

“I don’t mind sleeping on the couches, but do you have any blankets we can borrow? I’m sure it’ll get pretty chilly in here,” I say.

“Umm. I don’t think you’re staying on the couches,” Rin says.

“We’re not?” I ask her.

She looks around shiftily, as if she’s not sure how to phrase what she says next.

“That’s not how this was supposed to work.”

“How what was supposed to work?” I ask.

Either Kenji is right or I am seriously missing something here.

“Don’t worry about it!” Lilly says dismissively. “I’ve plenty of room for one more in my room! Come, a smart man told me that sharing body heat is to best way to stave off the cold!” she says, getting up and pulling Kenji along with her.

“Yeah~, uhh, it’s that time! Time for bed! Bedtime, that’s what time it is~!” Misha says.

“That’s right. Come on, s-silly!” Hanako insists, pulling me up from the couch as well. “You have to put me to b-bed, remember?”

Shizune is already at the door leading out of the lobby and into the dorm hallway, as if preparing the red carpet for us. I can’t believe she’s in on this too. It seems like they all are! Misha and Emi are already through the door, while Kenji and Lilly are halfway there.

“Uhh, Hanako, I don’t know—” I sputter. “—let me just—talk to Kenji a sec, okay? About like… guy stuff?”

She hits my shoulder lightly in frustration, frowning at me, but nods reluctantly.

“Okay. But you b-better come back fast! I need someone to… t-tuck me in!”

“Right, right. Tuck you in. Got it, won’t be long.”

Shizune gives me a wink and goes into the hallway after Misha and Emi. Boy do I hope I beat her next time we play Risk. I leave Hanako sitting with Rin and pull Kenji to the other side of the room, keeping my voice down for privacy. Lilly tut tuts me as I pull Kenji away from her. She clearly isn’t going to let me have him for long, so I really do need to figure something out quickly.

“Okay, dude, really? I can’t believe you’re going through with this! Uhh… don’t you see! This is their plan, they’re going to trap us!” I tell Kenji, hoping I can at least get him to back me up.

“Nah bro. They think they’ve got us right where they want us, that’s true. That’s why we have the upper hand! They have no idea that we were onto them all along!”

Why does his insane troll logic always seem to land on the opposite side of whatever the sensible action would be?

“I’m just—it’s my first mission, you know? I’m worried I can’t handle it. What if I get into that room with her, and she breaks out the, uhh… brain scrambler thing?!”

Kenji places a hand on my shoulder, stands up straight, and looks at me solemnly, the way an officer looks at a soldier just before ordering him to go to his death.

“This is the moment I’ve been training you for, Hisao. I think you’re ready for it. It’s sink of swim, soldier. Just don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.”

Okay. That doesn’t narrow it down really. At all. Except for…

“Just uhh. Don’t you know… go all the way, right?” he says, as if reading my thoughts. “No, err. Sex,” he says. “None of that. That’s… an advanced infiltration technique, for experts only. Leave it to me for now.”

“Now wait a minute. You are going to have sex?!” I say incredulously, probably a little louder than I should have.

“I, ahh. It’s not ideal, but you do what you have to do to maintain cover, soldier. Don’t worry, I’ve been through this before and I came out the other side. I know what I’m doing.”

Yeah I bet you do, Kenji. Suddenly I think that Kenji knows exactly what he’s doing, the sneaky bastard.

“If I can conquer the blonde amazon, then… I’ll have taken the best of them. This is the final test of my combat skills. If I can do it, then we’ll be ready to take our plans to the next level,” he goes on.

Okay, okay. Enough of this madness. Fuck all of this.

“Alright, alright. No sex. I’m with you,” I say. “Let’s go. Good luck in there, soldier,” I tell him, feeling both absurd and like I’m legitimately psyching myself up for a dangerous mission.

“Alright!” I announce as we walk back over to our companions. “Time to tuck in, I suppose.”

Hanako latches onto me immediately, pulling me gently but insistently towards the hallway door. I go along with her, no longer trying to resist this. I’ve given in to this situation. Somehow, I think Kenji actually managed to give me the right advice. I can’t deny that I’ve been wanting something to happen with Hanako for weeks now, I just never quite knew what to say, when to really tell her how I felt. So I guess that’s why we’ve ended up here. Well, I’ll keep her company, but I’m not gonna take advantage of her.

I don’t know what’ll happen tomorrow but I’ll figure this thing out then. I guess it’s like Kenji says, sometimes a man just has to act. Rin is the last into the hallway after the four of us, closing the door with her foot in yet another display of impressive leg flexibility and toe dexterity. She looks between two different doors like she doesn’t know which one to go through.

“Am I supposed to sleep with Shizune?” she asks us.

“Ah! R-Rin! Do you like h-her?” Hanako asks in shock.

Rin shrugs.

“I guess? It just seems like we’re all supposed to sleep with someone else tonight. You two, and then Misha and Emi.”

“Misha and Emi are sleeping together?” I ask.

Hanako laughs and squeezes my arm.

“Of c-course, silly! They’ve been for a wh-while now,” she says.

“Huh?”

“Goodness, Hisao. You’re blinder than I am,” Lilly says. “Do as you wish, Rin. I have a… guest to attend to, for the night. I’m sure Shizune’s bed is rather frigid, though. Perhaps she would appreciate another body to help warm it.”

She goes to her door and yanks Kenji through it; he gives me a salute just before it slams shut behind him. Welp, I guess that’s that. Me and Hanako watch in amusement as Rin uses her knee to press the button next to Shizune’s door; the class president opens up in confusion, then shakes her head when Rin tries to come into her room. She signs something in annoyance, points to the other doors in the hallway, then closes her door again. Guess that didn’t work out.

“Sorry. Think you’re on your own,” I say to Rin.

She just shrugs again.

“Guess so. Emi kept saying I should find a boy to invite over tonight. I think now I figured out why,” she says.

Without commenting any further, she goes into her own room, leaving just me and Hanako alone in the hallway. She’s clearly been waiting for this, as she immediately pulls me down into another kiss, this one longer and more passionate. Now that we don’t have anyone watching us, we have the luxury of going at it a bit. I’ve never actually tasted another person’s mouth before, but I have to say, it’s… not bad, all things considered. Probably better when it tastes less like liquor. But I’ll take it, for the time being. Hanako gives me a sultry look and pulls me into her room.

Once more into the breach, or however that quote goes.

***

I wake up with a bit of a hangover, but not too bad of one. One advantage of alcohol, Hanako conked right out when we got into bed. Sleeping with our clothes on was a bit awkward but not unpleasant overall. Especially not when I woke up to her kissing me again. Even now that she’s sober this morning, she just seems to have found her courage. Our feelings are out in the open now—we don’t even have to say anything. We both know it. We did agree to get lunch together, though, and I’m sure we’ll talk about things then. For now, I’m heading back to my room to get some breakfast.

The storm cleared up sometime during the night, but lasted for most of it, considering it was still howling away when I finally fell asleep. I’m damn grateful for it, too, because the sound of the wind managed to mostly cover up the sound of Emi and Misha. It turns out Emi is really loud when she’s enjoying herself, and Misha… well. Let’s just say it’s no wonder Hanako knew they’ve been going at it. Probably the whole building knows. The term “pink parfait” has taken on a whole new meaning now, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to order that dessert again, not with a straight face at least.

Stepping out into the hall, I find Kenji also emerging from Lilly’s room nearby.

“Ah, Hisao! Good to see you alive, sol—err! Bro!” he says.

With the door to her room still open, Lilly can probably hear both of us. How can I phrase this delicately?

“You too, man. Uhh… mission… accomplished?” I ask him.

He nods solemnly. I hear an amused giggle float out from Lilly’s room.

“Is that Hisao? I do hope he took care of Hanako!” she says, her voice faint but audible. “Hurry back now, I still need help showering before I can get dressed! If I get dressed!” she says with another laugh.

“Right, right! Just… checkin’ up on bro stuff, you know? Just be a sec!” Kenji calls back to her.

I look at him with awe.

Really? You’re going back in there?” I whisper.

“Yeah, just got to umm, get some essential provisions from my room. You know, re-stock and re-supply, then back into the fray. We’ve been locked in battle all night long. I think I’ve got the upper hand, but she’s not worn out just yet. She’s a tough one, dude, but don’t worry. I’ll tire her out sooner or later,” Kenji explains.

I can’t believe I’m really hearing this. I just shake my head, accepting his words, then stand up straight and offer him a salute. He returns the gesture and we set off together for the guys’ dorm. It’s been one hell of a night but I honestly don’t think it could have turned out much better. I didn’t get to score like freaking Kenji is, but that was never my goal anyways. I want to do things right—build up trust with Hanako, make a real relationship, before we take that step together. It’s going to be hard, it’s going to be messy, but I’m determined to make it work. I won’t let this chance turn out like the last one I had with a girl.

As we walk, I ponder my hallmate and his behavior over the past twenty-four hours. This whole time I really thought I was the Shizune to his Misha, but I have to wonder… have I really been the Hanako to his Lilly all along?

A Friendly Competition

I always felt like there should have been some sort of fallout from the comforting route and this is certainly fits with Shizune's love of games and competition. I usually feel bad for Hisao in your stories but he kind of brought this one on himself. By the sound of things it would have turned out poorly for him regardless in this instance though, so maybe I feel a bit bad for him.

Haha nice. I like that you've resorted to putting not lewd warnings on. Your Hanako is adorable as always, but given your username that's hardly surprising. Was interesting to see Kenji in deep undercover mode too, not sure if I've seen a characterisation like that of him. Emisha is a new pairing for me, never thought about it before but it's intriguing. Another story seed on the backlog I guess!

I don't know if it's because I'm dead tired, but for the first few paragraphs I had a weird feeling of déjà vu with this story...
Of course the rest was most certainly unique and a fun read to boot!

The only thing that I found strange was the strangely serious narrative style. If you're writing a crackfic you might as well have gone all the way. (And no, by that I don't mean writing out the h-scenes...) For about the first third/half I wasn't sure whether this was going to be a crackfic or not.

Hisao finally got a nice story for him in this most recent one lol. I left it kind of ambiguous how much awareness Kenji has here, but one theme of the story is definitely that he has more of a method to his madness than Hisao really knows.

Yeah I think I get some kind of kick out of taking these obviously absurd situations and just delivering them in a dry manner. One of these days I should try to write one that is aware of the zany nature of the story and just rolls with it.

Morning Stretches

“I still don’t get it. Aren’t you supposed to stretch down at the track?” Rin asked.

Emi raised one arm over her head and leaned sideways, then switched and repeated on the other side.

“They’re good for limbering up in the morning, too!” Emi answered.

“It just seems redundant.”

“So is this conversation. I’ve told you a hundred times, Rin! It never hurts to have more stretches!”

Emi twisted her torso around as far as it would go, giving Rin a thorough view of her backside before spinning back around in the other direction.

“Especially for someone like me—it’s important to have one round without my legs on, then another with them!” Emi continued. “And it’s better with a buddy! C’mon, no slacking off!”

Rin waved her stubs lazily, neither knowing nor caring if she was “stretching” properly. Emi pouted upon seeing her lackluster efforts, a common occurrence in their morning routine. No matter how many times they did this, Rin’s enthusiasm (or lack thereof) never seemed to change.

“Sorry. Is this better?” Rin asked, raising her stubs high enough that they nearly touched her cheeks.

Emi smiled softly up at her best friend.

“That’s good for today, I think. Now! I’ll just finish up, and then we’ll be ready!”

Rin leaned against the tiled wall, looking down at Emi while she did her last exercise on the other end of their extra-large shower, built to accommodate wheelchair use. The smaller girl sat with her thighs out in front of her, leaning forward and reaching out with her hands to touch the air where her toes would’ve once been. Each repetition brought her head under the warm jets of the shower, the water wrapping her toned body in a wet sheen as its muscles rippled and flexed. Rin still didn’t understand why Emi did this, but she couldn’t deny that it intrigued her to see all the different ways that lithe little body could move.

Emi brought her head forward one last time and held it in place, groaning softly as she pushed her joints to their limit before leaning back with a sigh of contentment.

“Ahh… that’s better!” Emi declared, flipping her soaked hair back over her head. Rin stepped across the shower and sank to her knees as well, taking in the view of her best friend while the other girl rested for a moment, eyes closed and breathing light. She waited patiently for Emi to stir, knowing that the lull would last only a few moments more. Stretching wasn’t the main reason girls got in the shower, after all. Stretches were just for warming up. That much made sense to Rin. They had other business to attend to before they were ready to start the day.

Sure enough, Emi opened her eyes slightly, the hint of a smirk on her face as her eyes shifted up to focus on Rin again.

“You got awfully close,” Emi observed, leaning forward to touch her forehead with Rin’s where it waited only a few inches apart.

“I like you close,” Rin answered, giving the same reply she did every morning. “Do you want me to do it with my foot, or… with my mouth?” she asked.

Emi leaned in and pecked Rin on the lips before answering.

“Up to you,” she whispered in Rin’s ear.

“Mmm,” Rin acknowledged, returning Emi’s peck with brief kisses across her face and neck. “You should be the one that asks me. You have more options,” she observed.

“What do you mean?” Emi asked, cradling Rin’s head in one hand as it moved further down her torso.

“You have fingers. Those are better than feet,” Rin explained plainly.

“Are they? You’ve really made me wonder, you know. I had convinced myself toes weren’t good for anything until I met you…” Emi countered.

“So you want”—Rin paused to kiss one petite breast—“me to use”—then the other—“my foot today?”

“It’s not the only thing you’re good with, though. If you can’t decide, then I guess I’ll just have to…”

Emi took Rin’s shoulders and pushed her gently down onto her back.

“…decide for myself,” she said, clambering up Rin’s body to bring her hips into position over Rin’s face. Despite the frailty of her own thin frame, Rin never felt uncomfortable bearing Emi’s weight this way, the other girl’s already tiny body made unnaturally so by the absence of nearly a quarter of its natural stature. Her thighs applied only a light pressure as they settled upon Rin’s chest, then parted and slid forward to present her with the morning’s prize. She leaned her head up as Emi took hold of it in both hands, opening her lips to—

“How am I going to wash when you’re gone next week?”

—ask Emi that question as it popped suddenly into her mind. Emi jerked slightly, startled out of her mood by the abrupt shift of focus.

“Uhhh, what? You mean when I’m off at that track conference?” she clarified, planting her hands back onto the floor to hold herself off of Rin’s face for the moment.

“Yes. You said you’re going to be gone for three days.”

“Ahh, I guess—eeek! Aha, haha!”

“What’s funny about that?” Rin asked as Emi’s hips shook a couple inches above her lips.

“When you talk, I can—feel it! It—it’s tickling!”

“Is it? Huh. Anyways. I don’t want to go three days without washing my hair.”

“Eheeha, R-rin, stop! Why are we talking about this now, damn it?! You totally killed the mood!”

“…Oh. Sorry. When can we talk about it?”

“How about, aha, when we’re n-not like this? It’s not easy holding this position, y’know! My legs are starting to cramp!”

“Okay. Let me un-cramp them then.”

Emi sighed in relief and lowered her lips to meet with Rin’s, followed by a satisfied sigh as the tip of Rin’s tongue made its first forays into her. Her hands found their holds once again on Rin’s head, helping to steady the both of them as they worked together in a familiar rhythm. Emi’s legs only made small movements at first, pushing forward every time they felt another surge of pleasure, but with each such shock they sped up.

“Ahhh…”

Moans made their way out of Emi’s throat as she began to ride her friend’s face in earnest, arching her back and bucking her hips. She dug her fingers into Rin’s hair and pulled herself back slightly, taking more strain on her back muscles so that her partner’s neck would have more room to move. This not only ensured that she wouldn’t hurt Rin, but also enabled Rin to bob her head in tandem with Emi’s movements, something which she did eagerly as she felt Emi hitting the home stretch. Emi threw her head back as the pressure in her body became nearly unbearable, holding Rin tight and close.

“Ahhh! Rin, yes, r-right there, ahhhh… aagghhhh!!”

Emi’s body seized and clenched, accompanied by another loud cry as the tension inside of her released. The strength of her voice was one reason they got into the habit of doing this in the shower—the walls seemed thicker in here, and the sound of the running water helped as well. After the first few times they “relaxed” together, Shizune came by with several noise complaints and some very uncomfortable questions.

Once her climax passed, Emi rolled off of Rin to lay next to her on the shower floor. For several moments the only sounds were the running of the water and the heavy breathing of the two girls, each one basking in the afterglow of their act. While Rin’s enjoyment wasn’t quite as pronounced as Emi’s, she was no less aroused, her tongue moving across her lips and her own legs squirming restlessly. Once again, she was patient—she knew their routine. She wouldn’t have to wait very long to run her own race.

“Haa… thanks, Rin… cramps are totally gone…” Emi breathed, lifting her head up and resting it on her arms. Rin turned her own head sideways to look at Emi.

“Now I’m the one cramping up,” Rin said.

“Well, can’t have that! Gee, I wonder what I could do about that?”

“I think I’m in a head mood today. You probably put me in one just then.”

“Oh, you want my pretty little head, huh?”

Emi pressed herself against Rin, grinning devilishly while tracing a finger down her navel.

“Well, you can’t have it! Not today!” she said, teasing Rin with a kiss on the cheek.

Rin frowned.

“Then I’m going to be very blue. Maybe even Prussian blue.”

“Prussian blue? Is that like extra sad blue?” Emi asked.

“I guess. Prussia isn’t a country anymore. That’s probably pretty sad.”

“Well, don’t worry! Your morning fun isn’t going to go the way of Prussia! I just want to… well, you see… maybe we can try something. You were worried about showering without me, right?”

“Right,” Rin agreed.

“So… there’s gonna be other things you can’t do without me around, right?”

Rin genuinely hadn’t thought about that, but Emi was right. Three days without having Emi there to scratch her itch…

“…Huh. Wow. Mornings really are going to be blue when you’re gone, Emi. Sorry that I won’t be there to handle your cramps, either.”

“Oh, don’t worry, Miura has me covered there. Still, I do hate that my morning buddy would be high and dry, so! I think I have a solution! It might not get you there as fast as I, the fastest girl on no legs can, but! It should work!”

Rin’s eyes widened with interest.

“Miki’s going to take care of me, too? I don’t know. She’s a lot bigger than you are, so I might have to use my foot for her…”

“No, no, dummy! Miura’s going to the track conference too, she won’t be around! I mean, maaaybe I can talk her into that sometime… anyway! This is what you can do as an emergency measure. See, these showers are made so that I can use them even if I’m in the chair. That means that if I have trouble with the regular shower…”

Emi sat up and reached for a second, smaller showerhead hanging from the wall, a detachable wand. With one flick of the switch on its side, water stopped streaming out of the main showerhead and out of the wand instead. Emi laughed as she waved it across Rin’s face, causing the other girl to flinch.

“…I can use this if I have to! And since you can just wave it around freely, it’s made to really go, you know. Everywhere.”

Rin stared at the shower wand in bemusement as Emi used it on her breasts, apparently intrigued by the way it angled the soft flesh around at close range. Rin squirmed some more and bit her lip, helpless against this assault—it tickled a bit, and it felt nice enough, but she still wasn’t seeing the idea here. If shooting water onto her boobs was really that great, she could always just stand really close to the main showerhead.

“I don’t get it,” Rin said.

Emi aimed the wand between Rin’s legs, causing them to seize up immediately with a sharp inhale of breath.

“…Okay. I get it.”

“Oh I bet you do,” Emi said, flashing Rin another devious smile. She gently pushed Rin’s legs apart and inserted the water-wand firmly between them, ensuring that its jets continued to spray directly onto their target even as Rin’s legs tried to close again. This brought another hiss as Rin tossed her body to one side and then another, finally managing to dislodge the showerhead as Emi giggled. Even this short exposure left her face flushed and her lips parted with heavy breaths.

“Looks like it’s super-effective on you, Rin! So you’ll be in good company! Haha!”

“I do see how it could work,” Rin acknowledged, “but I don’t see how I could use it. I still don’t have arms,” she pointed out. “It’s made for people that do.”

“Oh, just get a little creative. You can put it on the floor and… position yourself,” Emi assured her.

Rin looked at her skeptically.

“How do you know?”

“Uhh… like I said, it’s an… emergency technique. I may or may not have… improvised, when my arm was broken last year.”

“I never saw you do that when your arm was broken.”

“Well, you wouldn’t have! I don’t need it when you’re in the shower with me, do I?” Emi pointed out.

“…That’s true,” Rin agreed. “Wait. So you did this by yourself… on top of our… morning workout?”

Emi looked aside guiltily.

“What can I say? I have needs, Rin. When I need them, well… I need them.”

“…I guess you do.”

While Rin knew that acting solo was something that girls did, it had only ever existed in theory for her. Maybe she would re-evaluate that with the revelation of this… showerhead technique. “Working out” multiple times a day was certainly an attractive prospect now that she was aware of it… Rin snapped out of her thoughts as the wand wandered back down her body.

“I think you need a demonstration,” Emi said, moving it into position once more. “I don’t think I’ve ever tried doing this to another girl.”

“You don’t think? What does that—ahh!”

Rin clenched her teeth and held her legs apart, willing herself not to begin jerking them again as the shower’s head hit home. She closed her eyes and leaned her head back, letting her stubs relax at her sides. Her lower body trembled in response to the jets shooting relentlessly into her folds, dozens of tiny pressure points covering every inch of them… her breathing grew ragged and her head swam and pulsed… it was so different from what she’d felt with Emi before, the stimulation both more powerful and in that way overpowering, so strong that it almost hurt.

Then Emi reached in with her other hand and deftly pulled Rin’s hood back.

Her first reaction was to cry out, but the sensation was so intense that her breath caught in her throat, unable to produce more than a strangled gasp. Rin felt herself brought almost immediately to the brink of climax, then held there in a pulsating limbo that felt wonderful in what it promised, yet cruel in its refusal to fully deliver. Sensing the need for that extra little push, Emi carefully slipped one finger down into the showerhead’s stream, coordinating its movements with the responses of Rin’s body to push her gently over the edge.

It only took a few light touches before Rin’s hips shuddered and her toes curled, the orgasm beginning to work its way through her system. Her thighs tried instinctively to close but Emi held the showerhead stubbornly in place, drawing as many ragged gasps out of Rin as she could. She released Rin from its hold only after her reactions were reduced back to the occasional twitch or sigh. Even after the instrument was removed, it took Rin a few moments more before she seemed to notice its absence, her eyes opening slowly and reluctantly.

“It’s nice, isn’t it?” Emi said, waving the shower’s stream across Rin’s face again. She didn’t flinch or react, still far too relaxed to be bothered by Emi’s teasing.

“Mmmm,” Rin purred in agreement.

“You got a bit vocal for a minute there,” Emi said, replacing the wand on its rack and turning the main shower back on. “You don’t have to hold it all in, y’know. I like hearing your voice.”

“I think you’re loud enough for the both of us,” Rin remarked.

“Ha! Well, yeah, I think I’ll always have you beat there,” Emi agreed.

“And as much as I like your head, Emi. I think this one was actually even faster than you.”

“What?! Nothing’s faster than me!” Emi protested. “You’re lucky we can’t stay in here much longer, or I’d have to make you eat those words!”

“How do you eat words? Is it like us eating—”

“Gah, don’t start with that! You know what I mean, Rin! We might have to have a race tonight, if this is how it’s gonna be.”

“…If I win, do I get your head?”

“Hahahaha! You know, you just might!”

Emi ruffled Rin’s hair and sat with her back to the shower’s wall. Rin peeled herself off the floor as well, rolling her shoulders and working the life back into her muscles before leaning forward onto Emi. The simple pressing of their torsos together was a familiar gesture to Emi—Rin didn’t have arms, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t give hugs. Emi gripped her around the back and held her tight for a moment, understanding her sentiment without the need for words.

“I’m going to miss you, Emi,” Rin mumbled.

“I know,” Emi said. “I’m gonna miss you too, Rin.”

Rin looked up at her, then leaned in for a kiss. Emi was happy to return it, briefly, but had to break off when Rin tried to take it deeper. Rin frowned at the refusal, though not without understanding.

“You’re going to be late again, aren’t you,” Rin said.

Emi sighed.

“Probably. But… I’d say it was worth it. Wouldn’t you?”

“Just don’t run in the halls because of it. Shizune will try to take your legs again. I feel like you kind of need those.”

Emi looked aside guiltily.

“No promises! C’mon, let’s get moving.”

Rin nodded and stood up, then leaned down and held out her stubs for Emi to grab onto, offering her leverage to help her pull herself out of the shower. As Emi turned off the shower and began to dry her off, her mind wandered to the problem of doing this without her legless friend next week. They might have solved one problem, but they never got around to figuring out how she was going to wash her hair… and Rin had been bathing with Emi for so long now, the idea of going through the morning without another girl just didn’t feel right…

“Wahaha~!”

Misha jumped forward onto the bed, then rolled over to look up at Rin from its surface.

“Well~! Here we are, Ricchan! You said you needed my help this morning, so! What are we gonna do in here, hm~?”

“Not in here,” Rin said, her passive expression contrasting with Misha’s expectant enthusiasm.

“No? But you just pulled me in here, Ricchan!”

Rin held up her stubs quizzically.

“…Pulled?”

“…Ahahahaha~! Oops! You know what I mean!”

Rin didn’t, but she shrugged. For once, she had more pressing things on her mind than trying to decipher Misha’s mannerisms.

“In here,” she said, using one stub to point at the door to the bathroom.

“Oh! The… bathroom. Oh,” Misha said, comprehension audible in her voice as it dawned on her what kind of “help” Rin might need. “Aha… ah! Of course, Ricchan, of course! The Student Council is happy to help with the needs of every student, no matter what they are!”

“That’s good,” Rin said, pushing the door open with her foot and stepping in. Misha followed her inside, twirling a pink lock and humming nervously to herself. She looked around at the bathroom, unsure what to do or say, and really wishing Shizune was here to help her with this. She could understand why Rin hadn’t tried to ask Shizune, as they couldn’t exactly communicate very well, but still…

“So, uhh… what now, Ricchan?” Misha asked.

“Emi usually closes the door.”

“Ah! Okay, okay! There! And, so… yeah~!”

Misha stared expectantly at Rin. Rin stared back for an awkward moment before figuring out that she was still supposed to dictate Misha’s actions.

“Now you need to pull my pants down,” Rin said.

“Your wha—ah!! I mean!” Misha said, stopping herself as she quickly remembered what they were probably in here to do. “Okay—so—”

Misha took in a deep breath to brace herself, then leaned down and just ripped the proverbial band-aid off. Or rather, pulled the Rin’s pants off. Her nerves caused her to do it with a bit more force than was really necessary, but Rin didn’t seem to notice or mind.

“And the…” she said to herself, her voice trailing off as her face hovered just in front of Rin’s panties. Even Misha didn’t need Rin to explain any further at this point. Obviously, those would have to come off as well. Misha gulped and took hold of the thin fabric on either side, biting her lip as she thought about what she was about to see. Not now, she told herself, don’t think about that stuff now… this was weird enough without her imagining how Rin might be in bed… besides, that would probably be a very weird experience as well…

“Is something wrong?” Rin asked, looking down at the top of Misha’s head.

“Wha? No, Ricchan, no way! Wahahaha~! Not at all!”

“But… my panties are still on,” Rin pointed out.

“Your—oops! Ehehehaha~! Right, right!”

And off they came. Misha gulped, forcing herself to straighten up and look Rin in the eyes. She expected Rin to make the next move, presumably towards the toilet, but instead she just kept staring back at Misha. What was she supposed to do next?

“Err, Ricchan?”

Rin held up her stubs.

“Now the shirt. Don’t want that to get wet.”

“Your… shirt?” Misha asked.

“Right. My shirt. I don’t shower with it on. Usually.”

“Shower? Ricchan, you wanted me to help you shower?! I thought… well~! I don’t know what I thought! Ahahahaha~!”

Rin looked at Misha like a grown-up trying to be patient with a child.

“What else would we do in the bathroom?”

“Well~! You know, in the bathroom, people also—you know, you know what! Never mind, Ricchan. I’ll help you shower! No problem, no problem at all! Wahahaha~!”

“Alright. We should probably move a bit faster. We’ll be late for class at this rate,” Rin said.

“What do you mean, Ricchan? We still have like, an hour! That’s plenty of time to wash and rinse!”

Rin gave her another quizzical look, as if this was a strange thing to say, but declined to comment. Instead, she just raised her stubs again, waiting patiently as Misha unbuttoned her shirt. Once again Misha paused hesitantly at touching Rin’s bra, but only for a moment—this time she went ahead and pulled it off without further ado, already growing a bit more comfortable thanks to Rin’s own complete and total lack of shame. She choked down another gulp as Rin’s breasts bounced free of their constraints, surprisingly plump for her bony frame.

Jerking her face back up and away from that view, Misha found herself looking instead into Rin’s wide, green eyes, only a few short inches away from her own. When had they gotten this close? She did have to lean halfway around Rin to undo the bra, but still, it—

Misha’s thoughts screeched to a halt as Rin kissed her, full-bodied and deliberate.

“Mmmpff—waah~!! R-rin! I don’t—what—”

Rin tried to kiss her again, not seeming to hear her protests. Misha jumped back and retreated to the bathroom wall, pressing herself against it as if trying to hide. This did her no good, as Rin simply advanced after her until they were once more face-to-face. The red-haired girl tilted her head sideways, looking at Misha curiously.

“Misha? Is everything okay?” Rin asked, her eyes turning down slightly into a bit of a puppy-dog look. It wasn’t as potent as Emi’s, but it still caused Misha’s heart to do a flip in her chest. Speaking of her heart, she realized that it was now pounding in her ears.

“S-sure, sure, everything’s fine, fine~!—I’m just—really surprised, Ricchan! You really—I didn’t know you—wanted to do that!”

“You’re pretty,” Rin said plainly.

“Ah! Ricchan…” Misha breathed, her voice trailing off at that statement.

Rin leaned forward again, this time kissing Misha’s neck, pressing her affections insistently onto the other girl.

“Rin… you’re pretty too…” Misha said quietly. “I just don’t understand…”

“Emi’s gone. I need an Emi for this week,” Rin explained between kisses.

Misha took her head and held it gently, but firmly, against her shoulder for a moment.

“You need an Emi? You mean… this is what… you and Emi-chan do?” Misha asked, beginning to understand her situation more fully.

“Uh huh,” Rin answered. “Don’t you and Shizune… ?”

Misha pulled Rin’s head up to look at her for a moment, her eyes narrowing and her mouth curling into a frown.

“…No, Rin. We don’t,” Misha said.

“Huh. That’s weird. I kind of just thought you—well. You’re together even more than me and Emi.”

“Yeah… we are best friends, Ricchan, just like you and Emi. But… not all girls are friends like that, you know? Girlfriends?”

“Emi isn’t my girlfriend,” Rin clarified.

“You like to kiss her, though? Right, right? I think that makes her your girlfriend, Ricchan.”

“I don’t call her my girlfriend though. We’re best friends. But not girlfriends.”

“Best friends… that like to do things… in the shower?” Misha asked.

“Right. Friends help each other out. That’s what Emi told me. And I need help with lots of things. In the shower. Especially in the shower.”

Rin waited patiently as the gears turned in Misha’s head.

“So now, you want me to be, your friend that… does that?” Misha asked.

“If you want to be. I thought you would… every time I see you, you always keep glancing at my boobs.”

“Ricchan!! I don’t mean to—ahh! Okay, okay, okay~! I want to be. I want to be, Rin. Just… you know, next time… just tell people what you want them to do, alright? It makes things easier for them!”

“Hmm.”

Rin’s eyes seemed to glaze for a moment as she considered this.

“’I want you to take off your clothes now,’” Rin intoned. “Like that?”

“Aha… wahahaha~! Yes, Ricchan, yes! Just like that! Ahahaha~!”

Seeing Misha truly relax for the first time since coming into the bathroom, Rin allowed herself a small smile, as well. She was very happy with herself for having thought of this. Getting a second morning buddy to count on when Emi wasn’t around, that was a very nice thing to have. And the whole experience felt very instructive on… girl things. It hadn’t really occurred to her that other girls might be this close without doing all of the things that she and Emi did, but in hindsight, she guessed they didn’t. It seemed strange to her—things were just so much better when girls did them together—but then again, Rin was aware that she seemed strange to most other people, so fair was fair.

Still, now that Misha had agreed to it, Rin was determined to see how thoroughly she could replicate her morning routine with Emi.

“Alright, so,” Rin said as they finally stepped into the shower together. “Do you want me to use my foot, my mouth, or… that?” she asked, nodding at the detachable shower-wand hanging from the wall.

“That? The magic wand thingie? What do you mean, Ricchan?” Misha asked innocently.

Rin grinned.

“Don’t worry, Misha. I’ll show you. That’s what friends are for.”

After the big night in the girls’ dorms, the following few days were surprisingly low-key. I guess we all felt lethargic after so much excitement. The amount of alcohol consumed probably had something to do with that—I know it did for me, at least. I didn’t get more than tipsy and I still felt pretty off the next day, so I can only imagine how things went for the heavier drinkers, primarily Hanako and Lilly.

All in all, it doesn’t feel like I really have a girlfriend, even though I know I do. I still hang out with Hanako more or less the same as before, just now with the occasional kiss. It’s a pretty weird feeling. Honestly the fact that Kenji is hanging out with the girls now feels like a bigger change than Hanako and I dating. He still insists that he’s not dating Lilly, he’s just “performing another op” when they disappear into her room. Sure, buddy. I just hope they’re using protection.

Me and Hanako on the other hand, we still really haven’t progressed beyond snuggling and kissing, and honestly haven’t done terribly much of that. Maybe that’s why it doesn’t feel super different to be dating her. She seems happy enough with the way things are and I don’t feel safe trying to take things any further, not yet at least. I know how self-conscious she is and I want to make sure that we build up to a place of real trust before we go there.

That’s why it’s a bit of a shocker when I hear knocking on my door and open it to see her standing there shirtless.

“Hanako, wha—!!!”

I’m so dumbfounded that I just stare at her for a moment before realizing that I probably shouldn’t be seeing her nipples like this, averting my gaze shamefully. Cupping my hand around my eyes, I carefully scan my view back just enough to see Rin standing proudly behind her, smirking stupidly like she’s really gone and done something great. I can just about see her assets too, with her shirt hanging open like that… what in the world is—

“H-Hey, Hisao. Rin said you *hic* had a problem in your pants. I can fix that for you…~”

Oh lord. She’s drunk again. I glare at Rin, though my efforts to frown at her are significantly hampered by the fact that I have to try not to look at her panties. Why isn’t she wearing pants?

“This is the boys’ dorm! How did you both get here like that??” I splutter.

“He let us in,” Rin offers nonchalantly.

He?

“Nakai, you in there, bro?” I hear a voice call out from behind them.

This just went from bad to worse. Much, much worse.

“Look what agent Tezuka pulled off—whoa-hoa!! Already started the interrogation, I see!” Kenji remarks, pulling up alongside the half-naked Hanako like this is totally above-board and I’m supposed to understand whatever the hell is going on here.

“Interro… wha? Kenji, what are you doing with my girlfriend, god damn it!”

“Oh uhh right, right! ‘Girlfriend!’ Yeah! I meant uhh—”

I yank him into my room and slam the door; the last thing I see is Hanako’s goofy smile fading to a heartbroken frown as her boobs are ripped from my field of view. I do feel a bit bad about that, in more ways than one, but I have to get to the bottom of this and I have to do it fast. Thank god no one else lives on our hall… the boys’ dorm as a whole has been completely deserted except for me and Kenji, thanks to the holidays. Guess I have to count my blessings on that one. Only my best friend and my weird friend get to see my girlfriend’s boobs, instead of heavens know who else.

“What’s wrong, soldier? Are they on to us?” Kenji asks, seeing the obvious distress on my face.

“What did you do?!” I demand, ignoring the “soldier” routine.

“It was agent Tezuka, dude, like I said! The man really came through for us on this one. He’s been in deep cover over there for like, months! And now it’s finally paid off! He brought one of them right to us, all drugged up and ready to talk!”

Okay. I think I’m beginning to understand, but I’m still having some trouble believing that Rin is the real culprit here. I take a deep breath and try to remember how to talk to Kenji. In order to converse with the crazy, first you must understand the crazy. Or something like that. Basically, things go best when you try to go along with the delusion, or whatever it is.

“Wow, that’s uhh… yeah! That’s really something!” I agree, stalling for time to think more about this.

“Hell yeah it is! I’ll debrief agent Tezuka while you handle the captive, alright? I know she’s your case, so I’ll let you do the honors!”

He claps me on the shoulder then turns to leave; I grab his shoulder in return. Not so fast.

“I just don’t quite get how… well, how did agent Tezuka make contact just now?” I ask.

“H-Hisao? Is everything alright?” I hear from the other side of the door. Hanako’s voice, and she doesn’t sound very happy. Fucking hell, I need to get a move on.

“Oh, I was just doing reconnaissance over there in their base, you know,”—this is his code for “I was fucking Lilly again”—“and he comes up to me with the purple one in tow, and she’s blasted out of her mind on whatever truth serum he’s given her, ready to divulge everything! It’s a Christmas miracle, man!”

“Kenji. She’s fucking drunk,” I say.

“Yeah, totally! Tezuka said they downed the rest of Shizune’s liquor together! And he said we needed to see you, that it was urgent!”

I roll my eyes in disbelief. Downing more liquor was almost certainly Hanako’s idea. One thing that I have learned about her, she really picked up a bad habit from Lilly. I decide that we’re going to have our first serious talk together as boyfriend and girlfriend… after I clean up the current mess somehow. I hold Kenji back for one more moment before pulling the door open again.

“Okay dude, close your eyes, I’m sending you back out there,” I say. “Keep your eyes closed shut in case she tries to use the brain scrambler? Alright?”

“Of course! I know the drill!” Kenji responds, squeezing his eyes shut obediently.

Then I rip the door back open and shove him out of it.

“Take care of agent Tezuka for me!” I call after him before pulling Hanako in, then closing the door yet again. This time it’s Rin’s face I see just as my view of the hall is cut off. She’s still just standing there grinning smugly. Was she always this devious or is this a side of her that comes out when she’s drunk, sort of like Hanako’s frisky side? Another question for another day. It’s pretty hard to ponder it with a half-naked girl’s lips glued onto mine.

Much as I want to make out with her, I force Hanako’s face away so we can talk.

“Hanako, what’s this all about?” I ask, holding my hands nervously at my sides. I’m really not sure where they should go; I want them to go onto her, but I feel like that would be inappropriate. Hanako doesn’t share such compunctions, already having wrapped her arms around my back to hold herself onto me. Kenji is so damn loud, he’s still audible out in the hall.

“C’mon in, Tezuka! Good ol’ Captain Setou’s got your reward right here!”

I try to ignore that and focus on Hanako.

“The problem in your pants, silly. Rin said it needed f-fixing~,” she says, trying to sound sultry and only halfway succeeding. The mixture between cute and sexy creates something greater than the sum of both, and I feel an incredible urge to do things with her that I know I can but probably shouldn’t.

“Hanako, there’s no problem—look, just uhh, tell me what happened, okay? Here.”

Summoning up all my willpower, I guide her to the bed and we sit down on it.

“Ohh, the bed? What are we gonna do on here, Hisao~?”

I gulp as I feel her hand caressing my thigh.

“We’re going… to… talk,” I insist stubbornly.

“Jeez, agent Tezuka, your pecks are bulging! How’d you get them so swole like that?”

Stupid thin ass walls.

“What about? Your… preferences?” Hanako asks, waggling her eyebrows suggestively.

“Why are you and Rin… naked?!” I blurt out, bulling past her attempts at seduction.

“Naked? I’m not naked… yet. Hee hee hee…”

“You know what I mean! It’s like two degrees outside! Where did the rest of your clothes go!”

“Oh, we took them off in the hall. I hope that’s okay… I wanted to surprise you,” Hanako assures me.

“Agent! I-I’m your commander… I don’t know if we should really… Nakai will be jealous!”

“Well. You definitely did that,” I say with a sigh. “And Rin? She put you up to this?”

“No, she just said you told her once, there was a problem in your pants. I said we should go fix it together…”

“I never told her that!”

“Shhhh~. It’s okay, Hisao. I’ll kiss it and make it all better,” Hanako says, her voice dropping into a genuinely seductive tone. Despite what Rin told her, I realize that there is in fact, no problem in my pants. Well, not the problem they’re thinking of, at least. The problem, if there is one, is that I can feel myself straining against my pants pretty hard right now. I can also feel Hanako’s hand on my crotch, getting dangerously close to that spot. This situation as a whole has gotten pretty dangerous.

“It’ll be our… little… secret…” Hanako croons, taking a surprisingly firm hold on me and massaging me gently through the seat of my pants. I groan in response, trying not to feel the wave of pleasure it sends through me, yet finding it impossible to deny my own urges any longer. I pull her into another kiss, no longer holding back, our tongues meeting passionately as she undoes my fly…

“Okay, well, I guess if we keep it between us… a little fraternizing among the troops is always good for morale! Mmmmpff…”

What a soundtrack to my first time, I think. This time Hanako breaks out of the kiss, moving her head down my torso towards the “problem” protruding from my pants… I can feel her fingers on my exposed flesh now, every stroke and every squeeze… is she really going to?…

I’m torn horribly between lust and guilt. Part of me wants this so bad it hurts. The other part of me feels that it would be a bridge too far, to let her do this when she doesn’t have her faculties about her. No, this isn’t how I wanted it… I won’t allow this to happen! I take a gentle hold on her neck to stop her, just as I hear a snore go up from the girl atop me. I freeze, trying to be certain of what I’m hearing, what I’m feeling. Whereas Hanako’s body shared the same frenzied energy as mine a moment ago, now it’s slumped over and limp, her breathing slow and gentle…

She’s so drunk, she passed right the hell out, her head resting on my thigh. I breathe a sigh of relief. Crisis averted. Pulling her off of me and zipping myself back up, I go about tucking her into my bed, trying to think of what I’ll say when she wakes up. In the meantime, the cessation of our activities has left those next door more audible than ever.

“Oh yes, Tezuka, I always knew you were well-trained… but I had no idea that… okay, ready for your reward? Here it comes!”

I don’t know if I can seriously sit here and listen to this. Luckily, I don’t have to, as a high-pitched, girlish scream goes up just a few seconds later. I hear a commotion in the hallway and then frantic slamming on my door. Fucking hell, what now?

“Nakai! Open up, soldier, open up! It’s code red! Tezuka was a double agent! Code fucking red, man! We’ve been had!!” Kenji shouts.

“Finally figured out she’s a girl, did you?” I say sardonically, opening the door but standing firmly in its frame to prevent his entry. I still have a half-naked Hanako in here, even if she’s now under my covers.

“You knew?!” he asks incredulously, looking betrayed.

“Uhh… I assumed you figured it out, too!” I say quickly. “Of course, if a low ranking soldier like me could see it, I thought surely the commander could!”

Kenji stands there speechless, for legitimately the first time since I’ve met him. I have to admit, I’m more than a little satisfied to finally have a leg up on him. He’s fucked with me or put me in awkward situations so many times, and now he’s finally the one feeling the heat over something.

“Oh. Right. Yeah, that’s right! I did know, of course. Of course I did! I was just… testing your readiness!” he says anxiously.

Behind him, Rin appears, resting her head on his shoulders and nibbling playfully at his neck. Her bare shoulders indicate that her shirt has fled the scene, so I’m a bit grateful her presumably bare torso is hidden behind Kenji’s back. He jumps in fright at her touch.

“Away, feminist spy! Nakai, you’ve gotta help me! She’s sucking me dry!” he cries out, though his body language is oddly mis-matched to his words. He’s leaning away from her a little bit, but really not trying all that hard to get away. I think I know the deal by now. Still, I’ll give him the permission he wants.

“What’s wrong?” Rin asks innocently. “Hisao’s not the only one with a problem in his pants… I’m itchy, and I need someone to scratch me…” she mumbles, biting insistently at Kenji’s ear. She may not have arms, but she might as well be wrapped around him right now.

“This was the op I’ve been running since Christmas,” I explain. “I wanted to expose Tezuka somehow, so… you see, I set this up and brought her to you, so you could handle her for us. Just like you did with the blonde amazon!” I assure Kenji, seeing him nod as he works through my logic.

“Yeah, man…” he agrees tentatively.

“Lilly shouldn’t get all the fun…” Rin agrees.

“She’s too much for me, but you can handle her, dude,” I go on. “If anyone can take her, it’s you! Now go! Mankind is counting on you!” I say, stepping forward and shoving the two of them gently back into Kenji’s room. He’s no longer even pretending to avoid Rin at this point, instead turning his head and allowing her to kiss him on the lips.

“Thanks, mmmpff… I got this…” he assures me. “Save yourself…”

Those are his last words as I close the door behind them, just in time to avoid seeing more than I need to of Rin. Now my best friend has nailed two of my friend-girls. That’s just great. I wonder how things are gonna go if Lilly finds out… well, I guess Kenji hasn’t technically nailed this one yet, but he’s definitely working on it. I’m reminded of that as I hear the sounds of earlier resume, this time properly and with gusto. In having my fun I’ve sentenced myself to sit here and listen to this after all…

Ah well. At this point, who really cares? I’m locked into this madhouse for the day. Might as well enjoy the ride.

Only saw that meme this morning and you've already written smut for it! Genuinely enjoying this timeline though, really like Hisao and Hanako's interactions. Good for Hisao (mostly) keeping his self control too. Kenji's thought process continues to baffle and entertain me.

In The Moment

The night of the school festival was one of Yamaku’s most highly anticipated. It had food, it had games, it even had fireworks. The campus came alive with lights and sounds and people. A festive spirit laced the air as the students let themselves relax and cut loose a bit. It was the one night they got to pretend that they were all just regular kids without a care in the world.

Rika Katayama sat in the midst of it, immersed in the event yet not a part of it. People came and went all around the bench where she sat alone, doing this thing or that, playing the games and ordering the food and seeing the sights. A few townsfolk tried furtively to sneak glances at her, guessing at what her condition might be. Other than that, she might as well have been invisible.

Tap. Drag. Tap. Drag.

She turned her head towards the distinctive sound: an uneven, shuffling gait accompanied by the report of a wooden cane. Its close proximity had alarmed her, and sure enough, it announced the arrival of another student on her bench. Rika glared at the girl, hoping to drive her away with sheer presence. She had medium length chestnut hair, falling straight around her shoulders, with warm eyes and a slight resting smile, giving off a generally bright demeanor.

Rika disliked her already.

The girl turned her head and looked Rika square in the face with that doe-eyed grin.

“Hypoplastic left heart syndrome,” the girl said.

Rika’s eye twitched. Now she really didn’t like this bitch.

“…Excuse me, do I know you?” Rika asked.

“Saki Enomoto,” the girl said. “And you’re—”

“—the girl with the fucked up heart, yeah,” Rika finished for her. “Obviously you already knew that. Now can you politely piss off?”

That innocent little smile never dipped for a moment.

“This is a public bench. There is enough room for the two of us,” Saki said, glancing down at the empty space between them. She sat on one side of the bench with Rika on the other, with enough space for another person in the middle. Yet Rika felt stifled by how close she was. She could just get up and leave, but she’d be damned before she’d just let herself be driven off by a cheeky smile and a few inconvenient words.

“Yeah, well. I guess you need it more than I do with that deformed leg of yours, huh? Or whatever it is you’ve got making you walk like that?” Rika asked.

“Spinocerebellar ataxia,” Saki said.

“Is that what it’s called? Maybe you should go and tell some of the boys about it, see if they’ll take enough pity to keep you company. I bet one of them is desperate enough to look past the way you have to jerk yourself around.”

“I wanted your company tonight, Rika. I thought you wouldn’t mind, seeing as how you’ve been alone on this bench for the past two hours.”

Rika grit her teeth in annoyance.

“Yes, that’s right, I’ve been sitting here—alone. On purpose. As in, I don’t want to be bothered. Can you at least tell me why you’re ignoring that?”

“My condition is a degenerative nerve disorder. I have a limp because my brain cannot communicate properly with my muscles. It is progressive and fatal. In all likelihood, I won’t live to age twenty-five.”

Rika opened her mouth to say something cruel about that, then snapped it back closed. Insulting this girl hadn’t had any effect on her yet. More importantly, that expiration date struck a chord with Rika.

“You’ll be lucky to make it to thirty without a heart transplant,” Saki said.

“…Yeah, thanks for the big reveal, Sherlock,” Rika said. “We’re both fucked. Is that supposed to make us sisters or something?”

Saki closed her eyes for a moment and shrugged, one shoulder twitching up slightly higher than the other. It was the first deviation she’d made from her polite little smile since sitting down, and it put Rika at ease somehow, like it was a reminder that Saki was human after all. Rika could swear the other girl hadn’t so much as blinked up until then.

“I wanted to talk to someone else with my condition,” Saki explained. “No one else here has it, but you have my lifespan. Or an approximation of it.”

Rika stared at her for a moment, unsure of how to respond.

“Do you think your bitterness comes from that poor life expectancy?” Saki asked politely.

“My bitter—what?!” Rika sputtered. She felt a surge of rage at the sheer nerve of this girl, the fact that she could say something like that with the same stupid little smile plastered between her cheeks. Rika got up and stood over Saki, hands balled into fists and lips curled up into a snarl.

“Yes, I’m going to die really young, and maybe I am a bit upset over that. It’s on my mind often enough without some snide little bitch walking up and rubbing it in my face!” Rika yelled at her.

Saki stared up at Rika without reacting. Several of the nearby festival-goers turned their heads, curious as to the cause of the commotion. Rika felt her face flush immediately with embarrassment at such an outburst being seen, crumpling back onto the bench in defeat. The staring eyes passed along with the tides of her anger, but a distinct sense of shame lingered. Her heart slammed painfully against her ribs, its constant beating made all the worse by the anxiety of the situation. Rika closed her eyes and hung her head over her knees, rubbing at her temples.

“Are you alright?” Saki asked.

“Do I look alright?” Rika mumbled.

She felt a hand on her shoulder, rubbing it gently. When she’d fallen back onto the bench, she’d flopped down right next to Saki, she realized. She could feel the other girl’s knee against her own. Part of her wanted to slap Saki, but that part already had its moment. Still, when she felt Saki’s other hand grab her wrist, she jerked it instinctively away.

“Shit! What are you doing?!” Rika asked.

“I was going to check your pulse. If you’re stressed, your heart rate could—”

“Don’t—just touch me, like that, god damn it!”

“I’m sorry. I didn’t plan on upsetting you so badly…”

Saki sounded genuinely remorseful, her voice finally shifting off of its polite, even tone. Once again Rika felt that strange sense of being reminded that Saki was a person, too. It was jarring, and it made it hard all of a sudden to keep yelling at her.

“Well what the hell did you plan on?!” Rika demanded, now sounding merely exasperated rather than angry.

Saki sighed and Rika felt the hand withdraw from her shoulder. She looked up to see Saki’s eyes closed, her posture having withdrawn slightly from Rika.

“…I don’t know. At a distance, you looked so… calm. I thought I would speak to you and that you would be… more like me. I thought that we would understand each other, but I don’t understand you at all. Perhaps this was a mistake.”

And now that was real regret in Saki’s voice. Maybe she wasn’t going to jump up and yell, but Rika got the sense that, in her own way, she was upset too. The last vestiges of Rika’s previous rage fell away as she sat back up.

“…Yeah, well, I don’t understand you, either,” Rika said. “How can you just come up and say something like that? Act like it’s no big deal, that I’m… that we’re…”

“…going to die?” Saki finished for her.

Rika let out a small huff at that.

“Exactly.”

“Everyone dies,” Saki said.

“Well no shit! But most of them do it when they’re old and wrinkly!”

“Do you want to grow old and wrinkly?”

“Pfah! Aha… ahaha!”

Saki stared innocently as Rika laughed.

“Is that how you see it?” Rika asked. “At least we won’t have to see ourselves all worn away and shriveled up, when we’re eighty or whatever?”

“I suppose that’s one perspective. Is it yours?”

“Mine? Like, my view on it?”

Saki nodded.

“Your view of the world,” she affirmed.

“My view of the world? Damn, you’re hitting me with the big ones, aren’t you? Well, let’s see. People are a bunch of fakes who just go around pretending that everything is fine and patting themselves on the back for it. The world stinks and it can kiss my ass. How about that? Now are you gonna tell me how it’s really all sunshine and rainbows and I just need to appreciate the time that I have? Cause I’ve heard—”

“You’re right.”

“—hm?”

Saki looked away from Rika and out into the crowd still moving around them.

“They do want to pretend. It’s how they cope, I think,” Saki said. “At the end of my life, I won’t be able to walk any longer. I’ll be bedridden. I won’t be able to feed or clean myself. Eventually, I’ll try to draw breath, and my lungs will refuse to obey me. I’ll need a machine just to breathe.”

She turned to look back at Rika, the light in her eyes never faltering.

“This world is cruel, Rika.”

“So… what?” Rika asked, confused. “Should I be like you, then? Just put on a mask and act like it’s all hunky dory?”

“No. I don’t wear any masks.”

“Well what’s your secret then? God knows I’d like to be as numb to it as you are, so lay it on me.”

“I don’t think there’s a secret. I simply accept it.”

“That’s it, then? Just accept that you’re going to die horribly?”

“Everyone dies, Rika.”

“I know, but—”

“You have to accept what you can’t change.”

Rika looked at Saki, their eyes meeting for a long moment. She really didn’t know what to say next. Perhaps there wasn’t anything left to say. She wanted to tell Saki that she was wrong, but of course the problem with that was… she wasn’t wrong. Saki put her hand on Rika’s shoulder once more, seeming to sense that the initial tension between them had faded away.

“Thank you for talking to me, Rika. You aren’t who I thought you were, but it was refreshing to speak with you,” she said, already beginning to work herself back to her feet.

“You’re going?” Rika asked.

Saki paused.

“Not if you don’t want me to, I suppose,” she said.

“Just seems really sudden, to drop all that on me then walk away. You don’t, uhh… have anywhere to be, do you?”

“I had thought of going to bed. But I can do that later.”

Saki sat back down. They were quiet for a moment, Saki’s stillness contrasting with Rika’s fidgeting.

“So. No other big plans for the festival? Besides bothering me?” Rika asked.

Saki shook her head.

“I did my part with my class’s stall earlier. They don’t ask much of me. I had no other plans.”

“Yeah, my class doesn’t ask me to do anything at all.”

“Then you planned to spend the festival on this bench?” Saki asked.

Rika shrugged.

“I like to people-watch.”

“Then we have something else in common.”

“Guess so.”

Rika’s eyes scanned the crowd, picking out other students.

“Know her?” she asked, pointing to a short girl with prosthetic legs as she ran past.

“Emi Ibarazaki,” Saki said. “Car crash, I believe.”

“That how she lost them? Huh. Anyways, you know she tried to hook up with the track team captain?”

Saki fixated on Emi’s petite form as it passed out of view, sprinting off towards some unknown destination or another.

“Tried to?”

“Yeah. She tried. Guy’s gay, though,” Rika said. “Bet that was awkward as shit.”

“Ha.”

Saki let out the briefest laugh Rika had ever heard, though somehow she didn’t doubt that Saki was truly amused.

“And how do you know? Did you… try to hook up with him, too?” Saki asked.

“Pffftt! He wishes. No, it’s like I said. I like to watch people. Sometimes I see things, or hear them.”

“Hmm. What else have you seen?”

“Well…”

Rika looked over the crowd again.

“Aha! There!”

She pointed to a girl with short blue hair and glasses, speaking in signs while her pink-haired companion translated. Currently the Student Council seemed to be busy getting onto the owners of a noodle stand for some infraction or another.

“The president?” Saki prompted.

“Speaking of gay! Her and the loudmouth. They’re definitely in bed together,” Rika said.

“Are they?”

“Well, I don’t know this one for sure. But c’mon, the way they’re stuck together at the hip? They have to be. They’re both so insufferable, I don’t know how they could stand each other if they weren’t. Lord knows no one else can. And the one they’re chewing out?”

Saki followed Rika’s gaze to focus in on the recipient of Shizune’s ire, a tall girl whose blonde hair stood out clearly.

“Lilly Satou. Blind since birth,” Saki remarked.

“The princess, yeah. Not many people know this, but she and the president are actually cousins, and there’s some bad blood there. They do a good job hiding it but I heard them really going at it one time.”

“Interesting. It’s always struck me how people get caught up in such things. The intrigue and drama of daily life,” Saki said. “I used to worry that I was doing something wrong, somehow, because I didn’t have such entanglements.”

“It just seems like petty bullshit, doesn’t it?”

“Then you don’t have any, either?”

“Any what?”

“Entanglements.”

“What’s that mean?”

“Friendships, rivalries, disputes. Relationships,” Saki clarified.

“I’ve tangled with some people in the sheets, yeah, if that’s what you mean. Don’t know if you could call it a relationship. More of a fuck-and-forget.”

“Can you handle… that? With your heart?” Saki asked.

“As long as I don’t try to do all the work myself. What about you? Never gotten down and dirty, have you?”

“You’re good at reading people. I suppose watching them makes for good practice.”

“So you haven’t. But surely you’re curious,” Rika pressed.

“…I’ve thought about it. I don’t know that it would be fair, to… form a connection that cannot last.”

“What do you mean?”

“I can’t have children, or a family. Even if I only wanted a partner… I’d have to leave them a widower. It doesn’t seem right to condemn someone to that, to have a relationship that is doomed from the beginning.”

“Never stopped me.”

“As you said, that isn’t a relationship. I don’t see the appeal of a one-night stand. Why do you do it?”

Rika shrugged.

“Sometimes you have an itch? I dunno. I can’t really drink or do any drugs, ever, not even cigarettes. If I’m really on edge, I’ve only got one option if I need to relax.”

“Casual sex… helps you relax?”

Saki sounded confused, the look on her face innocent yet interested. Rika couldn’t help but form a small smile of her own. This girl really was something else.

“Well, yeah, if you do it right. You have to go into it with the right mindset. No entanglements, you know?”

“I suppose that’s the right view. I don’t know if I could adopt it, personally. Being detached from such intimacy… it’s a contradiction.”

“Well, it’s like you said. This world is cruel. We don’t get to have happily ever afters. We just have to make of it what we can.”

“Yes…”

Around them, the festival was winding down. Most people who hadn’t retired for the night were seeking spots to for the fireworks show that would close things out. If the two girls stayed on the bench much longer they’d be left well and truly alone, save perhaps for a few students clearing out stalls. With the objects of her interest gone, and a newer one in their place, Rika saw no reason to stay here.

“Come on. Everyone else is settling in for the fireworks,” she said.

Rika stood up and waited patiently for Saki to pull herself up, a multi-step process during which she leaned into her new companion for support. Rika took a moment to adjust to Saki’s uneven gait, then she was leading her away from the stalls and off into the grounds, Saki’s hand slipping naturally into her own. It felt like they were walking a three-legged race with Saki leaning into her on every other step. They must have cut quite the odd sight as they passed by other students, but Rika appreciated how easily the other girl trusted her, accepting her help without shame or reluctance.

Eventually they passed by the last of the other students—a first-year couple who didn’t bother to stop making out as they walked by—and then they were further afield than anyone else, nestled under a tree right up next to the school’s wrought-iron fence. Rika leaned down to deposit Saki gently against the tree trunk before sitting down beside her, the two of them ending up close together as they shifted around to get comfortable. Seeing that Saki had some difficulty arranging her limbs, Rika lifted an arm for her to lean into, once again offering her body as support.

“Is this a people-watching spot?” Saki asked, her head coming to rest just below Rika’s shoulder.

“Sometimes. Tonight it’s a fireworks-watching spot,” Rika said as the first explosion burst far overhead.

“It still has a good view of the people. Look.”

Saki raised a hand and pointed towards the roof of the school’s main building, their distance from it allowing them to see the movement upon it. Rika squinted at the two figures stumbling around up there… it was impossible to see who it was or exactly what they were doing, but there were a couple of louts up there, alright. She gave a short bark of laughter.

“No idea what those idiots are doing. I figured if anyone went up there, they’d be looking to screw,” Rika said.

“That does seem to be a popular activity tonight,” Saki remarked, nodding at the first-year couple they’d passed to reach this spot. The two were still wrapped up in each other, caring neither for the light show overhead nor that they were directly in Saki and Rika’s view.

“First-years. Oh to be young and stupid,” Rika said sarcastically.

“You’ve never engaged in any public displays of affection?”

“I didn’t say that. I’m only a second-year myself. I’m still pretty young and stupid.”

Rika let her arm drop behind Saki’s shoulders, holding the other girl around her torso and pulling her closer. If this were too forward, then Saki might squirm out of it or just go rigid… but Rika suspected that it wouldn’t be. Her suspicions were rewarded as Saki snuggled closer to her in response, laying a hand across Rika’s midsection.

“If anyone can afford to be young and stupid… it would be us, don’t you think?” Saki asked.

The phrasing as a question wasn’t an accident. Rika heeded the prompt, looking down into Saki’s eyes to answer it.

“I’ll show you stupid,” Rika said.

She leaned down and pressed her lips into Saki’s. This time the other girl did go rigid for a moment, though only out of surprise. Rika held the kiss long enough to feel the deep, satisfied breath that Saki drew in its wake. She placed a hand over Saki’s heart as she pulled away, feeling its elevated beat.

“Looks like you’re feeling stupid, too,” Rika said.

“As I said, you are good at reading people,” Saki agreed. “Did you know… all along?”

“Know what? That you wanted me?”

“Yes.”

“I mean, I didn’t know, but I like to assume and see what happens. I just wonder if it’s seriously over this,” Rika said, taking Saki’s hand and holding it over her own heartbeat.

“It’s not only that. You are very beautiful,” Saki said. “But I won’t deny my… fascination.”

“Well. There it is. Half a heart. Cut open and pulled apart and stitched back together. I’m a real Frankenstein in there. You like it?”

Rika pushed the hand down against her ribcage.

“It’s… different…” Saki said wistfully.

“I can feel it every day, every minute. Every second,” Rika said. “I hear it thump in my ears when I do this.”

She kissed Saki again, longer this time, showing Saki how her pulse pounded harder as the lust swelled in her breast.

“It’s extraordinary that you can live with it,” Saki said as they broke away.

“It does have its moments. Being able to hear yourself heat up is pretty cool.”

“I apologize if this is too strange, but may I… listen?” Saki asked.

“If it’s that much of a turn-on,” Rika answered, placing one hand gently onto Saki’s head and pushing it down over her left breast. “You can turn it up, too.”

“How would I…”

Saki’s voice trailed off as Rika’s other hand joined with one of hers, guiding it firmly down her torso and under her skirt.

“Since we’re being honest with each other…” Rika whispered in her ear.

“Are you… sure?” Saki asked.

Rika took the hand all the way up her thigh until it met the joining point of her legs.

“You tell me. Do I sound sure?”

Saki was silent for a moment, listening to the drumbeat of Rika’s heart, feeling its pace build with anticipation. Rika felt the girl nod into her breast.

“See. You’re good at reading people too,” Rika said.

She gasped as Saki finally took the initiative, her fingers moving past the thin strip of fabric between her legs and into Rika herself. It was as if Saki had finally been given permission to let herself go, her own body language beginning to match Rika’s aggression. It was obvious that Saki had never done this to another girl, both by her technique and the tremble in her hand, but what she lacked in experience she instead had in enthusiasm. The little jumps and palpitations that she caused in Rika’s heart drove her to try harder, speeding Rika’s heart even further in turn, creating a wicked feedback loop.

Rika laid her head back against the tree and gazed into the sky as Saki manipulated her body, letting herself ease into the experience. The blasts of color and sound far overhead seemed to boom in time with the throbbing of her heart in her ears and the quavering in her legs. She took in deep, heaving breaths, pacing herself as the waves of pleasure intensified. Saki’s breaths were the opposite, fast and ragged, the girl’s own arousal now showing itself.

The final rocket of the night lit the sky in brilliant streaks. Beneath its blaze, Rika pressed Saki’s head tight against her chest, moaning into her ear as her heartbeat reached a crescendo. For a long, exquisite moment, her red eyes opened wide and her breath held in her chest, until her head began to feel light and her vision swam. The moment passed as swiftly as it came, pulling all the tension out of her body with its passing. The half-formed muscle in Rika’s chest still slammed hard in her ears, so loud that Saki sounded distant even though Rika could feel the girl’s breath on her ear.

“Are you okay, Rika?”

“Mrrrmmmm,” she purred.

Rika was vaguely aware that now she was leaning onto Saki, in the same way that she had supported Saki when they first sat down here.

“Your heart…”

“The heart is happy, Saki,” Rika mumbled. “Just tired.”

As always, she felt weak in the afterglow of her climax, as if she could drift off to sleep at any moment. Hers was a body easily given over to fatigue. Summoning up the last of her strength, she lifted her head and kissed Saki’s hair before dropping back to her shoulder.

“Thank you for… sharing yourself,” Saki said.

Rika managed a chuckle.

“Was my pleasure. Guess now you have a, what was it? Entanglement?”

“I don’t know if I would call it that. More of a… finger-and-forget.”

“Oh, you bitch…” Rika said, feigning indignation. “You better not go and forget me.”

“I thought you weren’t one for relationships.”

“And you said you aren’t one for casual encounters.”

Saki looked down at Rika, that same warm smile resting on her face. Rika’s lips curled up into a smile of her own before they both laughed briefly together.

“I suppose we both have things to learn from each other,” Saki said.

“And you learn fast,” Rika responded, squeezing Saki’s thigh.

“Does that mean we should have more… lessons?”

“If you’re willing.”

“I think I’d like that, Rika. Or is it sensei now?”

Rika made a small retching sound.

“Hell no. Lesson number one, Rika is not gonna be called that.”

“What’s lesson number two?”

“Lesson number two is that Rika gets too sleepy to keep teaching after a big class. I could doze off right here… stupid curfew…”

“Ah, of course. Shall we then?”

Rika truly could lay here, just like this, all night—but if she knew one thing, it was that nothing lasts. As she and Saki worked back up to their feet, she realized that she did hope this lasted, that she and Saki lasted, at least past this single night. It was a feeling that she hadn’t known before, but Rika didn’t think she had known anyone like Saki before, either. The long walk home was dark and solitary, the two girls being the last ones in from the festival’s end. It felt like she and Saki were journeying alone together through a bleak void.

But if she and Saki had each other to lean on, Rika thought they just might make it through.

Okay, after the first half I wondered why you put a lewd warning on a story like that. I couldn't see how you'd get around to a h-scene from that start...
And it really did not work out all that well. That development would have needed a lot more build-up than this one-shot could possibly provide.
The other problem was that while in the beginning their personalities were reasonably distinct; then somewhere in the middle it felt as if they were switched around, and in the end both felt as if they were more or less the same - and I get the feeling the only reason for that was that otherwise you couldn't have gotten to the point of a H-scene at all...

Yeah this one would've been fine without it and I can definitely see the argument for not having it.

Hey, it wasn't just a setup for a smut scene! >.> At least that's what I like to tell myself. I actually wasn't sure if I would have any H content in this story when I wrote the first part of it, but sure enough, I managed to in the end.

The Student Council Shuffle

Miki Miura sat with her head down on the table, face laid sideways across her left arm while her hand tapped out a rhythm on the wooden surface. Boredom and restlessness rose off of her in waves as her eyes shifted around to the other girls in the room. All silent, all looking awkward, some hiding it better than others. But none really looking like they belonged in here or knew what was going on.

“Is she always this late?” Miki asked, her eyes focusing on the girl directly across from her, one Lilly Satou. When she failed to get a response, she poked Lilly’s hand with her stump, as if remembering that she was blind. “You were on this thing back in the day. She make you wait around, too?”

Lilly sighed.

“The council president no doubt feels that she’s earned the right to disrespect our time, given that we’re all here as punishment for one infraction or another.”

“Hey, you know what they say about assuming!” Miki said indignantly. “It makes you, uhh… wrong sometimes, or something!”

“It makes you an ass,” Emi corrected her from her left.

“Can it, shortie,” Miki shot back. “Point is! You can’t just assume that!”

“I believe it’s a safe assumption to make. Given that you’re here,” Lilly answered. “I don’t recall the last time you participated in any council activities willingly, miss Miura.”

“Ha. Okay, yeah, got me,” Miki conceded. “I may have been caught with some, err… contraband, let’s say.”

“Were you smoking those funny cigarettes again?” Rin asked, leaning in from Emi’s other side. “I still want one.”

“Rin! No! That stuff’ll rot your lungs!” Emi protested.

“It didn’t rot hers. She can still run,” Rin replied, looking towards Miki.

“Yeah, well, sorry. Being that I got caught, all my contraband was confiscated. Maybe one day,” Miki said. “Now… if we’re all here ‘cause we did something… that means you musta screwed up somehow too, huh, little miss perfect?” she asked Lilly. “Guess you’re not so perfect after all.”

“I merely missed a deadline on some of the extraneous paperwork that Shizune so loves to collect. It’s hardly comparable,” Lilly said.

“Hey, you screw up, you screw up. I know I haven’t missed any deadlines recently,” Miki said.

“An easy claim to make, when nothing is expected of you in the first place,” Lilly retorted. “Some of us try to take responsibility on behalf of our classmates… even when it means putting up with my cousin.”

“L-Lilly…”

Hanako’s meek voice piped up from her side.

“Let’s not f-fight…” Hanako beseeched the two of them.

“Ahh… yes, I suppose we’re already in enough trouble,” Lilly said.

“Well after her, you’re the last one I’d expect to see in here, Hana,” Miki said, turning her attention to the girl now that she’d spoken up. “What’d you do?”

“I m-missed too many classes…” Hanako said, looking away in slight embarrassment.

“Huh. Feel like you can’t have missed more than me… you two?” Miki asked Emi and Rin.

“Running in the halls,” Emi said.

“I sat on a desk,” Rin said.

“I can’t believe this is how we have to spend our Valentine’s Day…” Emi said. “The one day of the year that I definitely could’ve gotten a new boyfriend, and instead, this! Ughh!!”

“C’mon, we’re not so bad,” Miki said. “I mean, I am, but look at all the other options here! You don’t want any of ‘em?”

“We’re like the br-breakfast club…” Hanako said, smiling to herself.

“The what?” Emi asked.

“I didn’t know our school had that. Are we starting one?” Rin asked.

“N-never mind…”

“Speaking of options,” Lilly cut in. “I do believe I heard four other sets of shoes come in, besides Hanako and myself. Do we have a mystery guest?”

“Oh… yeah…” Hanako started, looking around Lilly to the girl seated on her other side, farther down the table than the other five.

“Hey, Suzuki. They’re talking about you,” Miki said.

“Wha?”

Suzu Suzuki raised her head from its resting place in her arms and looked around blearily.

“Is it time?” she asked, a hint of hope in her voice. “I don’t see Shizune…”

“Nah, we just wanna know what you’re in here for,” Miki clarified.

“Oh… umm… I just signed up for it?… Didn’t you?” Suzu asked, looking confused.

“You… signed up for this? On purpose? Student Council Speed Dating?” Miki asked her carefully.

“Yeah… they came to tell the literature club about it, and I dunno, it sounded kind of fun…”

“…Huh. Well then. Yeah, we signed up too,” Miki said. “Y’know, a day being bossed around by the dynamic duo, tons of fun. No one’s making us do this at all!”

Lilly pursed her lips while Emi glared at her. Suzu looked around again, still vaguely aware that she was missing something, but before anyone could speak the door burst open.

“Wahaha~! Sorry we’re late, but~! The class rep doesn’t mind, I’m sure! She knows all about being late!” Misha translated cheerfully, marching in with Shizune at her side. The class president looked straight at Lilly as she signed this, as if trying to drill the words into her with sheer force of will. For her part, Lilly’s eye did twitch at the remark.

“Do we reeeally have to do this?” Emi pleaded. “Come on, there’s not even any guys here! Can’t we just do regular detention or something?”

Shizune slammed her hands down on the table and gave Emi an angry frown.

“Right… Forget I said anything…” Emi conceded.

“Well~! We did tell everyone that there would be five lovely ladies here, so it’s really weird that none of the boys wanted to show up…” Misha said.

“You used our forced participation as advertising bait?” Lilly asked, sounding annoyed by the idea.

“Forced?! Lilly-chan!! How could say that! Nothing is forced. No way!” Misha protested.

“Well. I suppose I’m free to get up and leave, then.”

“Of course you are! And~! Shicchan says, then your class’s budget gets cut in half. But it’s definitely up to you, Lilly-chan. The Student Council would never use co-err-shun to recruit for its events! Definitely not!”

“Yes. Clearly not,” Lilly said sardonically. “I must question the legitimacy of this event, if all of its participants are only present on such terms and conditions. I believe it does say something about the council’s recruitment abilities.”

“Don’t be ridiculous! Succhan signed up all on her own!” Misha replied, gesturing emphatically at the day’s one willing participant.

“People were forced to be here?” Suzu asked in confusion. “Maybe I should just go back to sleep…”

“No, Succhan, not yet! Not yet! We have to do our event first. Then you can go to sleep!”

Shizune stepped back from the table and adjusted her glasses before beginning to sign with a few added flourishes.

“The Student Council is proud to present… the First Annual Yamaku Valentine’s Day Speed Dating event! Yay, yay~!! It’s going to be so much fun!” Misha declared, hopping and clapping a bit at the announcement.

“An all-girls dating event. The rumors about this one are gonna be fun…” Emi grumbled.

“And why would that be a problem, miss track star?” Misha asked, frowning and placing her hands on her hips. “You don’t have a problem with girls’ love, do you? That would be dis-crim-in-ayy-tor-ee! Yes, yes it would~! We don’t tolerate intolerance like that at Yamaku Academy, miss pigtails!”

“Okay, okay, alright!” Emi responded, throwing her hands up. “My mistake! Girls’ love is great, yeah, it’s wonderful! Nothing wrong with girls dating other girls, not at all!”

“That’s the spirit! Okay then! Good, good. So~! We’re ready to begin! Speed dating is super duper easy. You just pick a partner, and then you have to go on a date for the day. Then everyone will come back here at sunset!” Misha explained. “The president and vice president will be paired together first, of course~! So then—”

She stopped mid-sentence as Shizune gave her a look of disapproval. Several moments of signing passed between them before Misha resumed her explanation, her excitement now sounding less genuine and more forced.

“Ahahaha~! What I meant to say, was! Partners are chosen randomly by drawing lots, of course~! It’s more fun that way! Wahaha~! The only rule is that, because they are cousins, Lilly and Shicchan can’t go out together. Because you’re not supposed to kiss if you’re family! Everyone knows that!”

“Wait wait, now wait a minute,” Miki cut in. “Kiss? Is there gonna be some kind of rule where we have to make out or something?”

“What? No Micchan, no way! Shicchan says, you don’t have to kiss or even touch, if you don’t want to! You just have to spend the day together. Whatever you want to do on your date, that’s totally up to you! Isn’t that great? Wahaha~!”

“Damn…” Miki said, as if she’d been hoping for a different answer.

“Hey, that actually doesn’t sound too awful,” Emi said. “I thought we’d have to play a bunch of stupid games or something.”

“Call games stupid again, and you just might have to play them after all, Emi-chan~!” Misha warned her, translating Shizune’s ire at that remark. “Now enough sitting around. It’s time to go on a date!”

Shizune produced a small box from one of the room’s many drawers, set it on the table, and began drawing slips of paper out in pairs. Misha took each one and turned the slips over until there were four pairs of two.

“Okay, so! It looks like the pairs areee~… Lilly-chan and Emi-chan!”

Lilly made no reaction, while Emi breathed out her disappointment like a deflating balloon.

“Hana-chan and Succhan!”

“Ahh…” Hanako gasped slightly, turning red and trying to ignore the interested eyes of the girl to her right.

“Micchan and Misha!… Hey, that’s me~!”

“Great. Shoulda brought earplugs,” Miki grumbled.

Not seeming to hear that, Misha continued.

“And~! That leaves Shicchan and Ricchan!”

The president stared at her partner with an intense focus, as if she were a challenge Shizune was gearing up to conquer. Rin just stared back blankly, neither intimidated nor particularly interested.

“Alright then, let’s go! May you all find your true love~!” Misha said. It was unclear whether the last comment was hers or Shizune’s. The room sat staring at each other awkwardly for a moment.

“When do we start dating?” Rin asked.

“We start now, of course! Wahahaha~!”

Misha grabbed Miki by the stump and yanked her up out of the chair, dragging her out of the room while laughing over her protests and curses. Shizune snapped to get Rin’s attention, motioned for her to get up, then motioned to the door with sharp, deliberate movements. Rin got up and walked out dutifully, Shizune close behind. The other four girls were left sitting without any of them showing such clear initiative, though Suzu was the first to speak.

“So, umm… do you want to go anywhere in particular? I know you like to hang out in the library…” she said to Hanako.

“Y-y-yes!” Hanako replied, her anxiety causing her to snap a bit.

“Ahh, so you mean, you like to hang out there, or…”

“We can h-h-hang out! In the… l-l-library!”

“Okay. Okay,” Suzu said carefully, as if Hanako were a cat that she was trying not to scare off. “Yeah, we can do that. I like reading, too. Want to lead the way?”

Hanako got up without another word and forced herself to walk out of the room, her movements stiff and wooden. Suzu got up and hurried after her. Emi spent another moment looking around awkwardly before deciding to just stare at Lilly, realizing that she actually didn’t need to avoid eye contact for any reason.

“Well then. Shall we retire to—” Lilly started.

“—the track?”

“—the tea room?”

They both finished the suggestion together, each voice hopeful, and each face less so in the wake of their obvious conflict of interest.

“I apologize, but I simply cannot run,” Lilly explained. “So I feel it would be most appropriate if we remained indoors.”

“I can’t drink tea either, though. I mean, I can! I just don’t like it. You sure you can’t run? Haven’t you ever tried?” Emi asked. “I bet you can do a couple laps! Only one way to find out!”

She gave Lilly her best puppy-dog face, only to fade back into a frown as she remembered that it obviously wouldn’t do anything.

“Perhaps. Likewise, you may find that you rather enjoy drinking tea, once it’s been prepared with competence. Have you ever had a proper cup?” Lilly countered.

“Uhh… I guess not… hmm…”

Emi’s face set in determination and she kicked her legs a bit under the table. This was gonna be tricky, she thought…

***

“Slow down, slow down! Sheesh!” Miki protested, pulling back on Misha until the other girl was forced to comply. Her plump figure must hide a fair amount of muscle, Miki thought—she was surprisingly strong. “Do you even know where we’re going?”

“Uhh! Not really, Micchan. I just thought we’d explore! Wahaha~!”

“Explore? Our own school campus?” Miki asked.

“Sure~! There has to be all kinds of special places that we haven’t seen before. We can uncover some secrets and report them back to Shicchan!”

“Sorry, but that sounds like one hell of a lame date. I mean, where exactly is there that you haven’t been before, in Yamaku?”

“Hrmmm~. Well! There’s your room, Micchan. I’ve never seen it! Not even once!”

“Well, yeah, I haven’t exactly seen yours, either. Does that mean you—whoaa!!”

“Wahahaha~! Great idea, Micchan! Let’s go~!”

“Slow down, goddammit!”

Rin felt another insistent tug on her shirt sleeve, the third one since they’d left the council room. Shizune was in such a hurry… every time she wanted to stop and look at something interesting, the president would pull her along.

“It’s not like we have anywhere to be,” Rin pointed out. “We have all day together.”

Shizune just stared at her for a moment before turning back and continuing to forcibly march Rin down the hallway. At first Rin had tried imitating some of Shizune’s signs with her stubs but it really didn’t work very well, so then she went back to spoken speech. She had no idea if the deaf girl could read her lips or not. Even if she couldn’t, it just felt more normal to talk to her. What little conversation they’d had so far had thus been very one-sided.

All of a sudden Rin ran into Shizune’s back as the president came to a sharp halt in front of a door. Resting her head on Shizune’s shoulder, she looked at the door curiously, assuming it to be their destination.

“The art room? Huh.”

Shizune waved Rin’s face away from hers before stepping inside, clearly expecting Rin to follow. The first thing Shizune did was to turn over a new sheaf on one of the room’s easels, then pick up a nearby marker to begin writing on it.

Here. Now we can talk.

Shizune motioned to the easel with the marker, then offered it to Rin. Rin stared at it for a moment before stepping forward and kicking one leg up, expertly snatching the marker in between two toes. Shizune flinched a bit at the gesture but stilled herself quickly, apparently determined to make this work, somehow or another. Rin had to admit, this was pretty smart, coming to the art room to hang out. She would have never thought of it herself.

So one dilemma was fixed, but a new one had already arisen. Now that she could talk to Shizune, not just at her, Rin realized that she had no idea what she wanted to say. Deciding that she needed a moment to think it over, she hopped up onto the nearest desk, raising her marker-foot to hover in front of the easel’s surface. As soon as she did so, Shizune erupted into a silent flurry of signs, frowning so mightily that even Rin couldn’t fail to see her displeasure.

“What? Is something wrong?” Rin asked, legs dangling innocently off the desk’s side.

Shaking her head in frustration, Shizune grabbed the backs of Rin’s thighs and lifted firmly on them. She wasn’t strong enough to actually pick Rin up, but she did raise the other girl’s rear such that Rin’s legs went up and over her shoulders. Rin looked quizzically at her “date” with knees hooked on either side of Shizune’s neck, the marker now laying forgotten on the floor.

“You want me to take my pants off? That was fast. I guess it is Valentine’s Day…” Rin mused.

Shizune’s eyes squeezed shut and she grabbed Rin’s legs again, squirming furiously under their hold. Her attempts to shake her head “no” were constricted by the surprisingly powerful calves holding her neck in place.

“Okay, I understand, they’re coming off!”

Rin jerked her hips in a practiced fashion, working one out from under her waistband and then the other. Shizune gave a great tug backwards, expecting to pull Rin off of the desk, but instead found that something else came off of Rin instead. Shizune was left with the other girl’s empty pants draped down her front like a shawl, with the desk still disgraced by Rin’s bottom. More disgraced than ever, as that bottom was now mostly bare upon its surface.

“You have to be more delicate with these. I can’t wriggle out of them as easily,” Rin said, spreading her thighs to indicate her green and white striped panties.

Shizune squeezed her eyes shut and turned aside with a grimace, trying not to blush at the unexpected sight.

“What is it now? Did I get something on them?” Rin asked, leaning forward to inspect herself.

In her attempt to look anywhere but upon Rin’s improper display, Shizune noticed the marker where it had fallen on the floor. She would need to literally go back to the drawing board, it seemed…

“Eeek!!”

Hanako jumped back away from the art room’s doorway, which she’d been peering carefully around. Suzu waited at her side, the two of them having been drawn slightly off-course to investigate the commotion.

“What is it? Who’s in there?” Suzu asked in a hushed tone.

“Don’t l-l-look!” Hanako implored her, as though she’d borne witness to a murder scene.

“Well, you know that means I have to now…” Suzu mused, looking carefully around the doorframe for herself.

“They’re being… n-n-naughty!” Hanako explained.

Too late. Suzu had already seen it: the empty pants draped over Shizune’s shoulders while the president drew something on an easel, with Rin sitting on a desk half-naked. No doubt Shizune was drawing which position she wanted Rin to use next…

“Holy shit,” Suzu whispered.

Finally noticing her, Rin gave her an innocent smile and a brief stub-wave. Suzu pulled back out of the doorway before Shizune could turn around and see her, hands clasped over her mouth.

“Come on, come on, Hana! We shouldn’t… interrupt!” Suzu insisted, hurrying them both back down the hall.

“I d-don’t… I know this is a d-date, b-b-but, I didn’t th-think…” Hanako spluttered.

When they had finally made it safely back around a bend in the hallway, Suzu brought them to a sudden halt.

“I know. I didn’t know they swung that way, either. Either of them,” Suzu remarked, her energy levels dropping back to their normal lethargy now that the danger had passed. “No wonder Misha and Shizune are so close…”

“You don’t m-mean…” Hanako started.

“…that ‘Shii-chan’ enjoys a sweet, pink parfait every now and then? I bet you she does,” Suzu suggested.

Hanako gasped.

“It all m-makes s-s-sense…”

“That it definitely does,” Suzu agreed.

“She’s doing that st-stuff… with R-R-Rin, and she made us all c-come, so that she and Misha could… and we’ll be n-n-next!” Hanako rambled, beginning to tremble slightly as she worked herself up.

“Hey, hey, what! No, no, I mean—yes, maybe! Maybe those two did want to… explore some other options today… but that doesn’t mean they’re in some kind of conspiracy to bed all of us! You heard Misha explain the rules. No one has to do anything they don’t want to. I guess Rin just enjoys, umm… you know. Pink parfaits. The same way Shizune does.”

“…P-parfaits?”

“Never mind! Point is, I’m your date, not Shizune. And I’m not going to pull your pants off if you don’t want me to. Promise!”

“You m-mean… if I wanted to… you’d pull my cl-clothes off?!” Hanako asked, her voice rising again.

“No, no no! Err, maybe! I mean! No one’s clothes are coming off! Besides Rin’s! And maybe Shizune’s! How about that?!”

“Ahh… alright…” Hanako said feebly, seeming placated for the moment.

Suzu let out a long sigh of exasperation, already feeling tired.

“How about we forget about that and just go on to the library?” she suggested.

To her relief, Hanako produced a small smile at this suggestion.

“O-okay!”

***

Emi jumped forward onto Lilly’s bed, rolling around on the covers a few times and laughing.

“What are we gonna do in your room, huh Lilly?”

“As I said. If I’m truly going to… go for a run, then I must change into something more suitable. Believe it or not, I do own some summer-wear.”

“Oh, I get a run and a show! Perfect! Need any help?”

“With changing? No thank you, I can manage.”

“Ah, okay, that’s cool. I guess I’m just, y’know. Used to helping another girl change.”

“Well, I’m afraid I’m less comfortable with that than Rin. And, if you wouldn’t mind… not rolling around so much. I like my things to stay in very particular places…”

“Ahh, whoops! Sorry!”

Emi flopped over onto her back, kicking her leg-blades and humming. Lilly stood for a moment in awkward silence, acutely aware of Emi’s presence.

“Ahem. If you would please… wait outside,” Lilly said.

“Awww! It’s Valentine’s Day! Where’s your sense of romance?” Emi pouted.

“Sorry, but you’ll have to sit for tea with me at least once before you may get this particular show,” Lilly retorted.

Emi laughed at her savvy comeback, enjoying herself considerably now that she’d gotten Lilly to start doing things. It put the ball in her court to dictate the day. Sure, she’d agreed to teatime after their run, buuut… who knew how long the run would take, or what kind of distractions might happen once they were outside? If she didn’t want to go back inside, Lilly couldn’t exactly catch her and make her!

“Fiiine. I’ll hold you to that if I ever do end up drinking that tea!” Emi said, getting up and walking over to the door.

Lilly waited until she heard it open and then close again before letting out a sigh of relief, allowing herself to relax a bit now that the diminutive menace was gone. Emi was exhausting, but not entirely unpleasant to be around. She was just a bit… much. Lilly hoped that they could slow things down a bit if she just managed to jog around the track once or twice, with Emi’s guidance. All of these thoughts passed through her head as she unbuttoned her blouse and slipped out of her skirt, moving to her dresser and rummaging through the drawers.

She found a couple suitable items soon enough, but the fabric of the halter top and shorts was depressingly sparse. The more Lilly felt at the outfit’s shape, the more she realized just how much her… assets, so to speak, would be on display. She let out another sigh of exhaustion, already knowing what sorts of comments that would draw from Emi. At least she couldn’t see Lilly in her bra and panties, as she was now…

“Ahh, why did I ever agree to this…” Lilly groaned to herself.

This statement drew a muffled giggle from a nearby corner of the room, the owner of the voice trying and failing to suppress it.

“What?” Lilly asked. “Is someone—Emi! How dare you!” Lilly yelled, jumping back and clutching at her chest as Emi collapsed into fits of laughter. “Why you—you little—!!” Lilly tried to say through clenched teeth. Those blasted metal struts were too hard to hear on the carpet!

“Ahahaha, ohh, aha, sorry, it’s just! It’s not even your boobs or your butt, I mean, they’re nice, but—you should see your face! Hahahaha!”

Lilly clasped her hands below her navel, closing her eyes and resolving her face into a look of stern disapproval. Her cheeks were still burning hot, but there was no need to let Emi rob her of any further dignity.

“Sorry, it’s just, you know… I had to!” Emi went on, her laughter finally dying down. “Uhh. Now I’m actually gonna wait outside! If you hate me now and don’t wanna hang out, I totally get it!”

“Oh, don’t bother. You’ve already seen what you wanted to see… what would be the point in stepping out now?” Lilly said, reaching back into her drawers and pulling out a set of clothes to pull on. “I do hope you enjoyed your little ‘show.’ Taking advantage of a blind woman to see her in her knickers. I’m sure it was worth it,” Lilly continued as she got dressed.

“Ouch! That hurts… do you have to be like that…” Emi said, all the wind taken immediately from her sails. “But yeah, I guess if you put it that way…”

“Hmph. Well, I suppose you’ll just have to make it right, won’t you?” Lilly said, her eyes opening and seeming to look straight at Lilly.

“Uhh… how will I do that?” Emi asked as Lilly walked slowly up to her, the other girl’s considerably larger frame pinning her in her corner. Suddenly Emi was feeling a bit uncomfortable with where this was going.

“You got to see my face and my… body,” Lilly said. “Don’t you think it’s only fair that I see yours? It is Valentine’s Day, as you said.”

“Oh, yeah I guess that makes sense, but I mean how—”

Emi’s voice died in her throat as Lilly raised a hand and pressed it onto her face.

“Like this, of course. I may not be able to see, but I can still perceive your shape, in a way,” Lilly explained, moving her fingers methodically over the curves and ridges of Emi’s features, their tips kneading rhythmically into her skin. She smirked in satisfaction as she felt Emi shaking a bit at the unexpected intimacy of the experience—served her right, Lilly thought. “I must say, Emi, you have quite the face yourself. I had no idea your jawline was so weak.”

“Hey! What’s that supposed to—ack! Careful with the eyes!”

“Ahh, sorry. It seems my finger slipped. How unfortunate.”

“H-how long do you need to do this?” Emi asked, turning her head back and forth in fruitless attempts to get away from Lilly’s grasping fingers.

“I think I’ve formed a sufficient mental impression. But let’s not forget…”

Lilly’s other hand moved onto Emi’s side, gripping her small body and sliding down it towards her waist.

“…you didn’t just see my face, Emi… you saw everything…”

Emi gulped as the hand got dangerously close to the waistband of her shorts.

“…fair is fair…” Lilly whispered, hooking two fingers into the fabric and pulling it out, away from Emi’s hips. Her hand twitched against Emi’s stomach, threatening to dive down at any moment.

“Okay Lilly, uncle, uncle! I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry!” Emi pleaded, anxious to avoid this going any further.

Lilly gave her an approving nod, like a mother recognizing when a child has learned their lesson.

“I take it you’ll think twice before peeping next time?” Lilly prompted.

“I swear it on my good pair of legs!”

“Good girl,” Lilly acknowledged, letting the waistband snap back into place and giving Emi a little pat on the cheek. Emi let out a long exhale as Lilly stepped away from her, allowing her to have her personal space back.

“Whew! You really are related to Shizune, huh? You know, I didn’t really see it before, but…”

Lilly rolled her eyes.

“Must you really compare me to—wait…”

“Wait what?” Emi asked.

Lilly stood stock still for a moment, her head cocked slightly to the side.

“I think I hear something…”

***

“Wahaha~!”

“What’cha laughin’ at now?”

“Your room, Micchan! It’s sooo~ messy! Ahaha~!”

“It’s not that bad!… is it?”

“Well~! I can’t even see your floor under all these clothes. It’s like your whole floor is a big bed!”

As if to demonstrate her point, Misha flung herself down onto the fabric-covered floor, using a particularly lumpy spot as a makeshift pillow.

“You could sleep down here if you wanted to! Wahaha~!”

“Gettup, off, off! You’re gonna get hair stuff all over my dirty clothes!” Miki protested, leaning down and tugging uselessly on one of Misha’s legs.

“Hair stuff? What hair stuff?” Misha asked, casually examining one random article of clothing after another.

“You know! Whatever gunk you put in there to make it… do that!” Miki clarified, twirling a finger to indicate a drill shape. “Plus your hair itself, it’s neon pink. I’ll look goofy as hell walking around with strands of that all over me!”

“You don’t want people seeing my hair on you? Micchan, I’m hurt! We’re supposed to be on a date. We’re probably supposed to get our hair all over each, you know! Yes, we are!”

“Yeah, you’d like that, wouldn’t you? Why don’t you just—”

Miki stopped short as Misha held up the latest piece of clothing she’d managed to dig out of a nearby heap; a pair of black lace panties, so skimpy that they couldn’t possibly cover more than the absolute essentials. Misha stared up at them wide-eyed before bursting out into more laughter.

“Oh my gosh, Micchan~! These are too~ scandalous! Who were you trying to impress?! Ahahahaha~!”

“Alright, that’s it! You get your little hands off of—arrgghh!! C’mere, give it! Give it!”

Finally losing her patience, Miki fell on top of Misha, trying to wrest the prized panties out of her grasp. Misha’s laughter boomed off the walls as they wrestled this way and that on the carpet of clothes, matched by Miki’s grunts and curses. Miki was stronger than Misha, but only slightly, and in exchange Misha had two whole hands to work with, giving her quite an advantage in the struggle.

“If you rip those, I’m gonna stuff ‘em down your throat!”

“Ripping them won’t matter, Micchan! They already show everything! Wahahaha~!”

The frail garment flapped in Misha’s left hand as she flailed it back and forth, desperately dodging Miki’s one hand while her right clutched at the stump pinning her down. Making a bid to push Miki off of her, Misha raised that right hand up to shove at Miki’s shoulder, but Miki lunged forward at the same moment, grasping ever further towards her target. Both girls stopped for a moment as Misha’s hand grabbed onto something hanging below Miki’s shoulder.

Misha’s face screwed up with embarrassment. All of a sudden the tides had turned.

“Having fun with that, gaylord?” Miki said with a smirk, shaking her chest to show how little she cared that Misha had accidentally fondled it.

Normally this was the part where Misha would release her hold and apologize, but instead Miki felt her squeeze on it a bit in response to the shake. The unexpected pressure caused her to give a small gasp. Now she realized why Misha’s face had suddenly gone red… it wasn’t just from embarrassment.

“You are having fun with it, aren’t you?!” Miki said. It was an accusation, not a question.

“Ahhh, n-no, I’m not—”

“Hush.”

Miki leaned in close, their faces nearly touching.

“You want to feel it without the shirt?” Miki whispered, grinding her chest down against Misha’s own.

“M-Micchan!”

“Shhh. Just relax. This is supposed to be a date, right? Besides, you already saw my panties…”

Miki reached down and flipped Misha’s skirt up onto her stomach.

“…so that means you have to show me yours. Let’s see if they’re pink, too…”

“Micchan, what are you… ahh, that’s… mmmm~…”

The treasured panties finally fell from Misha’s fingers as she moved them to take hold of a different pair.

“If all you wanted was for me to get off the desk, you could’ve just told me that. Instead of grabbing my butt,” Rin said.

Shizune tapped her foot impatiently, glaring and waiting. Rin was still seated on the desk and her pants were still off, although now they laid across her bare legs where Shizune had placed them after extricating herself. Rin leaned down and took hold of her pants with her mouth, holding them by the waist as she hopped down off the desk and back into her shoes. After placing them carefully back down on the desk, she turned to look at Shizune again.

“You know you need to help me put those back on now. If we’re not going to do any dating stuff, that is.”

Shizune tapped on the easel and offered the marker again.

“Okay. How are we going to do this,” Rin mused. “I can’t sit on the desk… but I need to sit on the desk to write on that… hmm…”

Coming up with a sudden idea, she stepped forward and kicked one of the easel’s legs, sending it toppling to the floor. Shizune jumped in surprise and made a few quick signs that Rin guessed were the deaf equivalents of curse words. Dropping to her knees, she scribbled furiously on the easel’s surface, which now laid on the floor like a big poster.

Don’t damage school property!!! Shizune wrote.

Rin stared at her. This date really was not going very well at all. At least she might finally be able to communicate. Taking the marker in her toes again, she balanced herself carefully over the easel, the soft strokes of her footwriting contrasting with the sharp angles of Shizune’s handwriting.

You wouldn’t let me write on it when it was standing up. Rin replied.

Retrieving another marker for herself to speed things up, Shizune dropped back to the floor to pen her reply.

Sitting on desks is strictly prohibited!! Now I’m stuck squatting on the dirty floor to talk. This isn’t going to work. Shizune continued writing.

“And whose fault is that?” Rin mused.

Let’s just forget about this. Maybe we can date without so many words. Shizune suggested.

What do you mean? Rin asked.

I mean let’s walk around and do something else. I’ll use a pad and you nod yes or no. Okay?

“That seems kind of one-sided,” Rin remarked.

And you can talk at me all you want. Shizune added, seeing the indecision in Rin’s face.

“…Okay,” Rin conceded, writing the word as she spoke it.

Shizune jumped up, clearly eager to return to her feet, and dusted off her skirt. After taking a moment to compose herself and adjust her glasses, she returned to the art supply closet, taking out a small stack of paper to write on.

Let’s go check on the other dates. Shizune wrote. I need to make sure no one is slacking off. If they aren’t having fun together, then it’s detention for them! Do you know where any of them went?

Rin nodded that she did, and off they went.

“We only got to… second base? Is that the right one?” Rin mused to herself. “I wonder if any of the others got farther…”

“So… what do you like to read, usually?” Suzu asked.

She and Hanako sat on beanbags together in the library. Suzu was trying to take the lead but it wasn’t easy. Hanako sat with her knees together, her hands clasped between them and her head pointed firmly down at them. Not exactly the most welcoming body language. Still, Suzu was determined to try. Hanako was the only person who probably spent even more time in the library than she did. Surely they could find something in common.

“Umm… I don’t know… st-stuff…”

Oh, stuff! By I-don’t-know! That’s a classic!, was what Suzu wanted to say. She definitely couldn’t say that. Patience… just be patient…

“Well, what was the last thing you read?” Suzu asked.

“Err… it’s a little embarr-rrassing…”

“Don’t worry, I won’t judge. I’m in the literature club, remember? People read all kinds of weird stuff in there. Did you know there’s a book where a lady falls in love with a fish-man?”

“…Really? That’s… a bit like my b-book… but the w-woman is the alien…”

“That’s a twist, I guess. So what’s it about?”

“It’s… th-there’s a man whose spaceship crashes, on an alien pl-planet, and he falls in love with a n-native woman… but her people don’t tr-trust him, so, he has to complete many trials to win her heart.”

Suzu nodded, impressed by how well-spoken Hanako was once she got started.

“That sounds pretty interesting,” Suzu said, the sentiment genuine.

“Wh-what about you?” Hanako asked, looking up at Suzu.

“Me? I usually read manga. I like comedy, slice of life, shoujo… you know. The usual.”

“M-manga? I thought you were in the l-l-literature club?” Hanako asked innocently.

“Eh? Manga is literature! And don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!” Suzu replied with feigned indignation.

“Ahhh! S-s-sorry!” Hanako apologized, immediately shoving her gaze back down at her feet.

“Hey hey, whoa, I was kidding! I wasn’t actually offended, alright? I do think manga is literature, though…”

“O-okay… I think it can be l-l-literature, sure…”

Suzu spent a moment looking at Hanako, unsure what to say next. The poor girl was still sitting all closed up like a locked box. How could she get this flower to bloom a little bit?

“How about you read some of your book to me? Is it around here?”

“Hmm? Ah, are you s-sure? It’s… w-wordier than comics… s-sorry, I don’t mean, that it would be too w-w-wordy for you!”

“Ha, that’s okay. I think I’ll like it. I want to see what you’re into. You never joined the literature club, but you read so much! I’ve always wondered what about.”

“R-really?”

“Yeah, of course! The lit club is all about sharing stories with each other.”

“Al-alright… I keep it over here…”

Hanako got up and rummaged through a nearby shelf, retrieving a novel from behind a stack of others. It had a place bookmarked about halfway through. She sat back down on the beanbag and began flipping through to her spot.

“Do you want me to tell you all the pl-plot up to this point?” Hanako asked.

“No, that’s okay. I’ll just pick it up as we go along.”

“Alright then, I’ll—eek! Wh-what are you…”

Suzu sat down on the beanbag next to Hanako, their bodies sinking naturally into each other as the big sack of squish sucked them in.

“I hope this is okay. I like to read along,” Suzu said. “If I’m bothering you…”

“Mmm… n-no, it’s okay,” Hanako decided. “We can s-sit together,” she said, giving Suzu a small smile.

Suzu wanted to do a fist pump at that little smile of acceptance. She gave one back, sensing some of the timidity leaving Hanako’s demeanor. As Hanako began to read, she settled into the beanbag and made herself comfortable.

“…and so they fled into the Gorge of Shadows, where the Darkwing Tribe dwelt far away from the light, a feared and secretive people. There was no telling what kind of grisly fate might befall them in this land of darkness, but after the High Elder’s betrayal, the erstwhile lovers had nowhere else left to turn…”

Suzu was struck by how easily Hanako’s stutter disappeared once she was reciting from a book. Her voice was gentle and steady, calming to listen to. As she went on, and the two of them sank further into the beanbag together, Suzu felt herself beginning to relax. It would probably be rude if she fell asleep during their date, but Hanako was so warm, and her voice was so soft…

…Some while later, Hanako paused in her reading as she heard a light snore go up from the girl next to her. Suzu’s body had curled up close to hers now, one arm wrapped around her waist with the blue-haired head resting lightly on her shoulder. Hanako really hadn’t been sure about this whole dating thing, but it had turned out pretty well in the end, she decided. If anyone could appreciate a friend that just snuggled and slept silently while she read to herself, it was Hanako.

“S-sweet dreams,” Hanako said, patting Suzu’s head. “This is really n-nice, after all… I hope everyone else is having a good time, too…”

“Well. At least someone found love today…” Emi said, stepping back from Miki’s door.

The sounds coming from within weren’t quite as loud without an ear to the door, but they were still plenty audible. Just as Emi had always suspected, Misha was the one girl even more vocal than she when things got intimate. She could only imagine how much worse it was for Lilly and her sensitive ears. The taut frown on her date’s face would’ve been hilarious if Emi weren’t so busy trying not to hear this herself.

“My my. Even Shizune might hear this, if she were here,” Lilly remarked. “Has she no sense of volume?”

“Misha? No sense of volume? Are you seriously asking that?” Emi posed.

“…Fair point. Still, one would imagine her… partner, as it were, would be a bit more concerned. I certainly would be, if the entire building were privy to my lovemaking.”

“You bet Miura knows people are gonna hear. She just doesn’t care. She’d probably think it was hilarious if she knew we were out here awkwardly listening in. Speaking of which, erm… maybe we should move along? Give them a bit of privacy?”

“Oh yes, privacy. Clearly something you value dearly. Emi Ibarazaki would never dream of violating another’s privacy.”

“Yeah, I get it, I get it! It was one bad joke!… You’re never gonna let me live it down, are you?”

Lilly gave her a motherly smile.

“If I didn’t know any better, I’d have thought your intentions matched miss Miura’s,” Lilly said. “You do realize your little ‘prank’ suggests a similar orientation?”

“Look, you got pretty handsy pretty fast yourself. If we want to play that game, I’m not exactly the only one who threw some cards on the table.”

Lilly pursed her lips, not expecting this line of counter-attack.

“Just what do you and Hanako get up to in all those private little tea parties, anyways?” Emi asked. “You know, me and Miura actually had a bet about this…”

“I should ask you the same about her. You think the school doesn’t know about your late-night trips to the track shed?”

“The track shed, is it? We have a saying down at the track: ‘What happens in the shed, stays in the shed!’”

“If only. Misha’s not the only student at Yamaku who could do with a bit of volume control.”

“So you don’t deny it, that you and Hana have a bit of a… special relationship?”

“Mine and Hanako’s relationship is no business of yours. Now come along. If we’ve nothing better to do, then I’m going to have some tea.”

“Well, I’m gonna go for a run then. At your pace, I should be done and back before your kettle’s finished brewing!”

“Excuse me? I hardly think—”

Before Lilly could finish her next line of argumentation, the door at the end of the hall swung open. Rin sauntered down its length towards Emi and Lilly, bringing Shizune in her wake. Emi’s eyes went wide, feeling a mixture of concern and amusement at the growing chaos of this situation, while Lilly’s expression tightened as well. She seemed able to detect Shizune’s presence merely by the cadence of her steps. And as if things hadn’t gotten strange enough, there was another pressing question now…

“…um, Rin?” Emi asked. “What happened to your pants?”

Rin glanced down at her bare legs, as if remembering they were there.

“Shizune pulled them off,” Rin explained, raising more questions than she answered.

“What? Why did—” Lilly started. “—Actually. Never mind. I don’t need to know. What does Shizune want? Come to ruin the other dates after hers didn’t pan out, I suppose?”

“I didn’t know I was supposed to pan out. Is that like putting out?” Rin mused, looking towards Miki’s door while Emi tried to suppress her snickering. “What’s going on in there?” Rin asked, not failing to notice the suspect sounds emanating from within.

“Don’t worry about it,” Emi said, circling around Rin in a bid to direct her attention elsewhere. Before she could try to lead everyone away, Shizune shoved her papers into Emi’s hands, clearly expecting a read-and-respond.

“Oh, hey Shizune, err…”

Has my cousin been trying to get out of the event? Shizune had written. Be honest. If she’s given you any trouble, I’ll devour her!

“’Devour her,’ yikes…” Emi mumbled.

“Devour what? What does that mean?” Lilly asked.

“N-nothing! No one is doing any… devouring! Not out here, at least!” Emi answered, unable to stop herself from glancing back towards Miki’s room.

“Are you sure everything is okay in there?” Rin asked. “It sounds like someone is torturing Misha.”

“Alright, that’s it! Come on! We’re getting out of here, and we’re getting your pants back on!” Emi declared, taking Rin’s shirt sleeve and leading her back down the hallway before things could get any worse. Shizune followed close behind, alternating between angry signing and grasping to get her messaging papers back from Emi.

“Hold on now! Don’t just leave me here with this! Goodness, but they are in a hurry…” Lilly complained, bringing up the rear. To her pleasant surprise, she soon felt a guiding hand taking one of hers to help her along. It wasn’t Emi’s, though… it was more familiar than that…

“Shizune?”

Lilly felt a series of quick motions against the palm of her hand. Apparently the situation had driven her cousin to speak with her directly, in the way that she used to. Things must have gotten dire indeed.

[Emi stole my paper.] Shizune explained. [What’s in that room? They kept looking.] Shizune asked.

Lilly felt Shizune’s hand hovering near her lips to read her response.

“Oh, I believe Misha is doing an impromptu inspection of Miki’s room… ensuring that she has no further contraband, and such,” Lilly offered.

[An inspection? I didn’t authorize that. I’ll have to speak with her later. Try to speed up, we have to get our dates back.]

“Must we really…”

***

“Hello, Hanako.”

“H-hi, Lilly. Um… why is everyone…”

“We came to collect you guys. Date’s been over for a while,” Emi explained.

“Ah, sorry… I guess I lost tr-track of time…”

Suzu let out a mighty yawn as she began to wake up, rubbing her eyes and looking around at all the other girls.

“Oh, hey, everyone. Huh, it’s gotten late…” she observed, noting that the day’s light had faded into a sunset.

“You two sure look comfy. Have fun?” Miki asked them.

“Eep! Y-yes, we did, I mean, uhh…” Hanako stuttered, looking around anxiously as if searching for somewhere to hide from all the attention.

“Yeah! We had a great time,” Suzu said. “Thanks for hanging out with me, Hanako. Sorry I kind of just slept… but still! I’d definitely like to do it again.”

“Oh, o-okay… I’d like that too,” Hanako replied, smiling at Suzu as she got up off the beanbag.

“The Student Council is very pleased that you had a good time together!” Misha translated. “Remember to express your gratitude to the president by attending each and every Student Council function. No exceptions~! Alright then!”

Misha turned around and waved her arms in the air, as if gesturing to a large crowd.

“The First Annual Yamaku Valentine’s Day Speed Dating event is now officially over. Congratulations to everyone for making it so successful! If you really, reallly~ had fun with your date, then you have to hang out with them again, for sure! That’s the rule~!… what? I just made it up now, Shicchan! It’s a good rule, isn’t it?… You don’t want to see Ricchan again? Shicchan! That’s not very nice!”

Lilly dipped her head and pinched the bridge of her nose as the Student Council devolved into a sign language argument of some sort. Suzu gave a wave and another yawn as she began to walk away from the group and towards the exit.

“If that’s all… I think I’ll be going now… Hanako?” Lilly prompted.

“Yes… can we get some t-tea?” Hanako asked.

“May we take it in my room? I think I’d like to turn in soon. It’s been a very tiring day…”

“Mmhmm…”

“You’re going back to her already? I’m hurt! Wasn’t I good enough for you?!” Emi called after Lilly as she and Hanako walked away. Lilly didn’t dignify her with a response. “Sure, be that way… you’re too tall for me anyways…” Emi grumbled, bounding out as well.

Rin took a moment to watch the sign language argument alongside Miki.

“What happened to Misha’s drills?” Rin asked. “They look all messed up. Did you pull them apart to torture her?”

“What I did to… what?” Miki asked in confusion.

“We walked through the hall and it sounded like someone was really hurting her.”

Miki burst out laughing.

“Pfahahaha! Yeah, we uhh, had a little wrestling match, and I got the upper hand. That’s probably what you heard.”

“Who was stronger?”

“I’d say she was a bit stronger, but I have more experience, so. I came out on top, you could say.”

“Huh. Emi likes to wrestle with me sometimes too. It’s kind of weird.”

Rin walked away without explaining any further. Miki shook her head, then made her own exit, stopping and turning when she was well past Shizune to give Misha a wink and to mouth the words “call me.” Misha nodded in response while trying to keep up with Shizune’s angry signing.

“…no, Shicchan, I had to check under Micchan’s bed for stuff! That’s why my hair’s all messed up. Promise~! Then there was a hook or something, and my skirt caught on it. That’s how it got ripped!… Of course I got some of her hair on me when I was under there… No, we didn’t do any, frat-err-nicing! Shicchan I swear! Waaahh~!”

Undercover

“Are you serious?”

“…”

“Hey! C’mon!”

“…wha…”

“Yeah, you! Up, sleepyhead, up!”

“Five more minutes…”

“It’s been like an hour!”

“Ugh… lemme go…”

Suzu moaned in annoyance as Miki’s stump ground against her head, the larger girl’s other arm wrapped around her neck. After another moment of groggy flailing, she managed to make Miki back off.

“Why you gotta do that…” Suzu complained, leaning back in her chair and stretching.

Miki dodged away from an outstretched arm as it nearly palmed her in the face.

“’Cause you’re drooling on your cartoon pages! You said you just wanted to finish this one issue, and you’re not even halfway done!”

“Yeah, I fell asleep, you big lunk. Can’t read all that well when I’m unconscious, can I? It’s called manga, by the way. Not ‘cartoon pages.’”

“Whatever. I told you that would happen if you sat in the library. It’s too quiet in here. C’mon, we gotta get out in the sun if you’re gonna stay awake!”

“The sun hurts. It cooks you up and makes you look like a gyaru.”

“Well, this gyaru needs to keep her tan in shape, and no gyaru worth her salt goes outside without her girlfriend. So! You’re coming, one way or another!”

Suzu rolled her eyes but reluctantly closed her comic book.

“Yes, mother…”

“We can sleep when we’re dead!” Miki declared. “Or at least when the sun’s down.”

“You’re just mad I was too tired to mess around last night,” Suzu accused her.

Even as they continued to argue, the two were already up and on their way out of the library. Suzu waved idly to Yuuko as they passed by her, trying not to laugh when Yuuko responded by bowing so forcefully that she smacked her head into the counter.

“You’re damn right I am!” Miki shot back. “Just imagine if you were the one in the mood and I couldn’t do anything more than lay there dead like a log!”

“You mean like last week after you smoked? The dorm could’ve burnt down around you and you wouldn’t have budged an inch.”

“Yeah, well—”

“Smoke?! Who’s been smoking! Cigarettes are strictly for-bid-den~!”

Like lions pouncing on their prey, Shizune and Misha suddenly appeared once Miki and Suzu were in the hallway.

“Son of a bitch!” Miki exclaimed, jumping back from Misha’s booming voice in surprise.

“Miss Miura! That’s very, very naughty language. Shicchan demands that you watch your foul mouth~!”

“Oh I’d give her a taste of it if she could hear!” Miki said.

Storm clouds seemed to form over Shizune’s head as she frowned and her signing sped up.

“Don’t try to distract from the point, you dee-leen-quint! You were talking about smoking, weren’t you? Smoking is very bad for your lungs, you know~! A runner of all people should understand that. It’s also a fire hazard! And~! Worst of all! It’s completely, totally against the rules! If you’ve been smoking on school grounds, it’s off with your head! Wahaha~!”

Suzu watched this exchange with constant snickering, trying and failing to hide her mirth behind a hand.

“And don’t think you’re getting off the hook either, miss Suzuki! We know what you and Miura get up to. Don’t think we don’t!”

The both of them suddenly froze, not expecting this line of attack. Their relationship wasn’t exactly a secret, but at the same time, they didn’t go around broadcasting it to the whole school. The Student Council in particular was not supposed to be aware of such things. Miki began wondering if this was another of Emi’s pranks…

“Umm… and what would that be?” Suzu asked.

“We know you two copy each other’s homework. You might think you’re sneaky, but it’s obvious! Miura could never pass math class normally. It’s completely unethical to let her copy your homework, Suzuki! If I find proof, I’ll have your head next, right after hers~!”

“It’s freaky how happy you sound talking about taking our heads,” Suzu said, her demeanor easing back up while Miki let out a sigh of relief. “Yeah, I help Miki on her homework, so what? It’s called tutoring. It’s not cheating, and there’s nothing wrong with it. Some people need a little help—not everyone can be an overachiever.”

Misha put her hands on her hips to match Shizune’s suspicious squint.

“If you say so, Succhan, if you say so~! But you better watch out. We’re making our list, and we’re checking it twice!”

“What does that even mean?”

“It means we’re watching. Always watching~! Wahahaha~!”

“…Yeah, that’s not creepy at all. So, are we free to go now? Or are you going to take us in for questioning?”

“Not yet, Succhan. Not yet! Shicchan says, we have to get takeout—oops! Sorry, I wasn’t supposed to say that part! Forget it! We’ll deal with you dee-leen-quints later, is what I meant to say!”

And so the Student Council marched away, Misha’s laughter echoing back in their wake. It was as Misha said. They were free to go… this time.

“Whew. That was a close one! Quick thinking!” Miki said, wiping her brow. “I mighta just let her take my head off rather than sit in detention again. God is it boring in there!”

“Yeah, that’s kinda the point of detention. And I don’t know if it was that quick of thinking. I guess by your standards of ‘thinking’ it might have been impressive…”

Miki nudged Suzu with her stump at this verbal jab.

“Hey now! I’m not slow!”

“I know you’re not. But all that speed is on the track. I guess you traded it all out of your brain to put it in your legs.”

“I traded it all to… what? That doesn’t even make sense!”

“Don’t worry about it. Point is, I just told the truth. Nothing ‘quick’ to it.”

“Oh, you did? Well. Yeah, guess so… ehe…”

“What was that?”

“What was what?”

“That weird little sound you made.”

“I didn’t make any weird sounds! You’re weird!”

“…you did copy my homework, didn’t you? Without even telling me!”

“Nah, no way! I mean… maybe, maybe just once!”

“I swear if you get caught at that, and I get in trouble for it! You’ll be sleeping alone for a week! At least!”

“Argh, fine, fine! It was just once, I swear! Have mercy!”

---

“Ahhh! That’s better!”

It was Miki’s turn to stretch as they emerged out onto the roof, the sun’s warm rays bathing them in light. While the taller girl visibly relaxed at its touch, Suzu shied away, shielding her eyes and squinting.

“So… bright…” Suzu groaned.

“Aww, you need someone to protect you from the big bad sun? C’mere.”

“Actually, that would be—hey! Aghh!”

Miki laughed as she picked Suzu up head over heels and hauled her around in a circle, the smaller girl’s fists knocking uselessly on her torso. Once she’d had her fun, Miki set her girlfriend down gently near the retaining wall surrounding the roof’s edge. Suzu huffed and folded her arms in a pout as Miki sat down next to her, still giggling.

“That just never gets old, does it?” Suzu said sarcastically.

“Nope! Never does!” Miki replied happily, scooping Suzu up in her arms and positioning the other girl to sit on her lap. Suzu’s demeanor was already improving, the potential for snuggling quickly fighting off the displeasure of being carried around like a sack of potatoes. She let herself slide down a bit to land on the ground between Miki’s open legs, then leaned back into Miki’s chest, her ample bosom providing a comfy cushion for Suzu’s head.

“Getting comfortable?” Miki asked. “How about this?”

“Ahh… yes, that’s much better,” Suzu replied as Miki shifted a little so that her figure blocked the sun from hitting Suzu directly. “Maybe it’s not so bad out here, if we’re like this…” she continued.

“See? I knew you’d come around.”

Suzu nodded, placing her manga volume down onto her skirt and opening it back to the saved page.

“Aww, that again?! When did you get that?” Miki asked.

“…I’ve been carrying it this whole time, you dope,” Suzu said.

“Hey, at least the girls are cute. No wonder you like to read these things… oh man! Look how short her skirt is! Haha!”

“Hush. That’s called ‘fanservice,’ and it’s part of the charm.”

“Oh I’ll service you alright…” Miki said, growling in Suzu’s ear and moving her hand down Suzu’s torso.

Suzu smacked it away in annoyance.

“Let me finish this chapter.”

“Sure, sure…”

Miki fidgeted as Suzu sat and read, feeling the weight of the other girl’s body against her own, the outline of her rump nestled into Miki’s crotch. She made it almost thirty seconds before she decided to kiss the top of Suzu’s head and stroke one of her thighs.

“Stoppit,” Suzu reprimanded her.

This time Miki lasted about ten seconds before running her hand through Suzu’s hair and biting her ear.

“Miki! Quittit! I’m getting to the good part!”

“The good part’s right here…” Miki said, moving her other arm in between Suzu’s legs. Even without a hand, the pressure it placed drew a light sigh out of Suzu.

“Mmm… you just never know when… to stop…” Suzu said, trying to put up a fight, but she had to force the words out. The last of her resistance drained away as Miki’s hand found her chest. It didn’t match up to her girlfriend’s, but it was still there, and Miki knew just how to handle it. She planted kisses along Suzu’s neck and face as her hand snuck its way lower and lower, soon disappearing beneath Suzu’s skirt.

“Ahh… Miki, should we really… here?”

Even as Suzu asked it, Miki’s hand was slipping inside of her. She squirmed and gasped as it began its work, her face flushed with a rush of anxiety and pleasure.

“Hey, if you want me to stop… just say the word,” Miki whispered, flexing her fingers with enough force to make Suzu’s response difficult.

“Alright… have it… your way…” Suzu managed to say between long, shuddering breaths.

“Atta girl. Don’t worry, you can pay me back later.”

“Shuttup… already…”

“Mmm.”

Miki wrapped her other arm around Suzu’s midsection and held her tight, finally happy to do as her girlfriend asked. She could feel every tremor of Suzu’s body, hear each of her ragged breaths going in and out, and it only made Miki want her more. Nothing turned her on more than sensing Suzu like this, having such an intimate awareness of what she was feeling, and knowing that Miki herself was the one doing it to her. They’d keep going like this until—

“Ah-ha! I knew it I knew it I knew it! There you are~!”

“Holy fucking shit!!” Miki shouted.

“Micchan! Language~! What is your hand doing in Succhan’s legs?!”

“Uhhh!”

Acting without thinking, Miki scrambled to her feet, hauling Suzu up and over her shoulders once more. This kept her hand concealed under the folds of Suzu’s skirt as the other girl’s legs fell down her front, as if she had just been gripping Suzu’s thigh to pick her up. Suzu seemed to be playing dead as best she could, likely having the same thought as Miki had. This wouldn’t be their first time using this routine to get out of trouble, but it was the first time with… this particular complication attached.

“Suzu’s… fallen asleep, and I need to carry her to her room!” Miki said defensively. “Don’t you people ever knock?!”

“You left the door open, Micchan! I can’t knock if the door’s not closed, silly!”

“That’s not—that’s beside the damn point! Don’t just barge in on people!”

“You’re in an off-limits area, Micchan. Yes you are! The Student Council has a duty to barge in on rulebreakers! Shicchan says, she knew you would come up here. Her council senses were tingling! Just tingling~!”

“Alright, alright, you caught me! Look, Suzu’s like, really having an episode, okay? You scared her so bad… she’s having a cataplexy attack! Just look at her, she can’t move at all!” Miki insisted, shaking Suzu’s form slightly to demonstrate her partner’s apparent paralysis. This was a bad idea, as the movement also jostled her fingers around within their hold, causing one of Suzu’s legs to jerk in response.

“Uh uh! She just moved, Micchan! I saw it~!”

“That’s… a reflex! Like when the doctor hits you on the knee! Quit arguing and let me take her in, god damn it! You’re stressing her!”

“Maybe if you wouldn’t break rules all the time, we wouldn’t have to stress you!” Shizune shot back through Misha’s voice.

Still, Miki could see that her gambit was paying off. The gears were turning in Shizune’s head and they were coming to an inevitable conclusion. Shizune was a pompous pain in the ass, but the one thing Miki did respect about her, she always gave lots of room when it came to people’s disabilities. That included “flare-ups” and the like.

“Okay Micchan. Because Succhan is in trouble! We’ll let you go this one time. But we better not catch you again! Or else—”

“Yeah yeah, it’s off with our heads, I know!” Miki cut in, already moving towards the door.

Of course, the wonder twins had to just stand there like idiots while she shuffled around them, staring at her as she tried to get through the doorframe without banging Suzu’s head against it. Miki could have sworn Misha tried to sneak a peek up her girlfriend’s skirt, but she twisted to show the loudmouth her own backside, protecting Suzu’s modesty.

“Why are you moving all funny, huh Micchan? Huh~?!” Misha teased her.

“I’m trying to hold her still, you drill-headed idiot!”

“Wahaha~!”

It was half true. Miki was trying not to… stimulate Suzu any further, not until they were clear of this mess at least. Now she stood at the top of the stairs with Misha and Shizune so close behind she could practically feel them breathing down her neck.

Those stairs seemed really damn steep all of a sudden.

Still, there was nothing for it but to make the journey down. The Student Council’s decision to walk down behind her was typical, making things as difficult as possible. Every time Miki’s foot hit the next step Suzu’s body tried to slide down her shoulder, held back only by Miki’s hand. Miki felt Suzu’s hips shudder ever so slightly with each of these little shocks, but there was just no way she could prevent them. Without another hand to compensate, any attempt to withdraw the one she had might cause Suzu to fall.

“Do you need help, Micchan? I can get Succhan’s legs for you!” Misha offered from over her shoulders. “You’re going awful slow~!”

“Oh no, no no! I-I got her!” Miki stammered. “Just gotta—watch my footing! That’s all!”

“You better not be slowing us down on purpose, Micchan!”

“I’ll try to go faster!”

Miki’s lack of speed wasn’t due to lack of strength, but rather due to her desire to be delicate with the girl draped down her back. The heat of the situation was getting to her, though, and she decided that she would sacrifice some caution in favor of some speed, beginning to amble down the steps at a more respectable pace. Of course, the friction taking place under Suzu’s skirt grew rougher in proportion to this, and Miki could see her legs trembling on every step now.

Miki could practically feel Suzu trying to hold herself back from reacting any further. It would’ve been hot if not for the unwelcome observers. Good thing Suzu’s face was hidden in the small of Miki’s back, she thought… man if she could see the look on it right now… that thought sent a little shiver up Miki’s own spine, and her fingers flexed involuntarily in response.

“Mmmppff!”

A muffled moan emanated from Suzu and her legs kicked feebly for a moment.

“Ah, shit!” Miki exclaimed.

“Is she alright, Micchan?!” Misha asked, sounding genuinely concerned.

“Yeah, she’s fine, just fine! Just—nightmares, that’s all! Happens when she’s worked up, y’know?”

“Just a few more steps! We’re almost there!”

“Don’t I know it!”

Though she managed to avoid any further vocalizations, Miki could feel the set of continuing contractions that pulsed through Suzu afterward, seeing her legs shake in tandem with them. Luckily the council couldn’t see those either, not that they’d recognize what it was even if they could… those two had sticks so far up their asses, Miki was willing to bet they’d never had a good lay. Maybe that was why they went around policing everyone else’s fun so much…

At long last, the freedom of the first floor hallway. Well. At least Suzu had actually gone fully limp now, Miki thought.

“Alright, thanks for the helping hand, I got it from here,” Miki said hurriedly, trying to get rid of the council as quickly as possible.

“Are you sure? Shicchan says we should walk to see the Nurse with you!”

“Nah, no way, definitely not!”

“Really? That was an awfully strong rejection! You are going to see the Nurse, aren’t you?”

“Um, yeah, but! In a bit! It’s better for Suzu to just lay down first. Then we’ll go later. Promise!”

“Okay… if you say so! Hey~! Stop it right there!”

At that very moment, Emi whizzed by them in a blur, running down the halls as usual. As soon as Shizune caught sight of it, her attention whipped onto Emi like a dog spotting a squirrel across the yard. She and Misha shot off to catch the wrongdoer without another glance at Miki and Suzu.

“Whew—saved by the show-off!” Miki remarked, putting Suzu down as the other girls disappeared around a corner.

Suzu grumbled something incomprehensible, laying on her back with a hand across her forehead. Her face was flushed hotter than ever and her breathing remained labored. She let out a low groan as Miki finally, carefully, removed herself.

“Yow-ee! You alright down there?” Miki asked, waving the hand in front of her face.

“Did you really have to… carry me like… that?

Miki shrugged.

“Maaaybe not. But it sure worked out, wouldn’t you say?”

Suzu opened one eye slowly.

“You could say that…”

“I mean, we did get where we were going, after all.”

“…and let’s never go there that way again. Funny thing is… I might actually need you to carry me now…”

Miki slapped one of Suzu’s thighs, laughing as it caused no response whatsoever from her girlfriend.

“Yep, those things are jelly, alright. C’mon, up, up. Shame you don’t wanna try that again, I bet I could do you another one before we get to the dorms.”

“Miki… I hate you…”

“Love you too, Suzu!”

Lilly’s Day Off

Lilly yawned lazily as she awoke to the soothing sensations of two hands gently rubbing her shoulders. On the table next to her head, the clock faithfully intoned “Eight o’clock.” Right on time—the boy massaging life into her limbs was as reliable as the time-telling machine. He’d learned well. Lilly let herself lay limp in his grasp for a few more moments, sighing happily. When his hands finally drew away, they pulled her nightgown off along with them.

She wore nothing underneath. Hisao knew how she liked to start the day.

“Don’t forget the most important spot…” she said, giggling and wrapping her legs around Hisao as he straddled her and got into position. “My my, don’t keep me waiting… ahh, that’s better… come now, I haven’t got all day! You can go—mmmphh! Yes, that’s a good boy!”

***

“Nine o’clock.”

“Ohh… nine already? Goodness… I suppose that’s enough for now. I’m sure Mutou will understand if you miss today’s classes…”

“He always does…” Hisao breathed, his sweaty body heaving with exhaustion atop Lilly’s. “That was… incredible, Lilly… I hope you…”

“It was most refreshing,” Lilly agreed, giving his rear a squeeze before pushing him off of her. Its toning was rock-hard from their extended activities each day… not to mention his training regimen with Emi, which he devoted much time to when he wasn’t seeing to his girlfriend’s needs. He had to stay in shape if he was going to make her happy; a dead boyfriend couldn’t very well fulfill her desires, after all.

“Now. Go and wash up,” Lilly ordered. “If you stay on schedule, you can finish with Emi by the time I get there.”

“On it!” Hisao barked, hopping to and heading obediently out of the room. As he left, another person entered, having waited just outside the door.

“Good morning, Hanako,” Lilly purred. “Sorry to keep you waiting, but I simply got… caught up in the moment, you might say.”

“That’s al-alright, Lilly,” Hanako said. “I’m just h-happy to see you. Did you sleep w-well?”

“Of course, dear. I should be asking you. Any disturbances?”

“Umm… not r-really, but I did have… some n-n-nightmares…”

“Again? Dear me, Hanako. That must have been horrible… come now, let’s wash and you can tell me all about it.”

And so they did. Taking Hanako’s hand, Lilly led the two of them into the bathroom, then carefully disrobed Hanako so that they could step into the shower together. Naturally, she herself had simply remained naked after her “breakfast.” The two girls saw to their bodies slowly and carefully, soaping and rinsing every inch of each other while Hanako recounted her nightly visions. The fire, her parents, being alone… it was always the same… but she would be okay, because…

“Don’t worry, Hanako. I’m here for you now,” Lilly said, giving her best friend a tight hug as the warm water ran through their hair.

“Thanks… L-Lilly…” Hanako mumbled into her shoulder. “You’re so g-good to me…”

“Nonsense. I only do for you what any friend would. You’re ever too kind.”

“Mmmm… I l-l-love you, Lilly…” Hanako whispered.

“Yes. I love you too, Hanako,” Lilly agreed, giving her a kiss to reassure her. “Shall we bed together again? Tonight? I can hold you close to ward off all those troublesome thoughts…”

“That would be w-wonderful!” Hanako agreed happily. “Do you want me to let H-Hisao in at eight? Like us-usual?”

“You know me so well. Now. Let’s see to our business for the day.”

After they got dressed, Hanako handed Lilly her cane, and they were off, arm-in-arm. The queen and her princess.

The Student Council room was already full, its loyal members awaiting their mistress. It was nearly ten o’clock by the time she arrived but they had all been there much earlier, preparing for her arrival. Lilly could hear the tea pouring and her plate being arranged as she walked in—she listened for any funny business from the servant, but her sharp ears detected none. Everything seemed to be in order. Beaming at the room, she crossed to her desk and took a seat in the enormous padded recliner that sat behind it, with Hanako settling into lap.

“Good morning, everyone. How are you?” Lilly asked brightly.

“Well. According to my mom… one day, a long time ago, when she and my dad loved each other very much…” Rin said.

“Wahahahaha~! You’re always so silly, Ricchan!” Misha chimed in, right on cue.

“I’m okay… just need to rest for a bit…” Lilly heard Hisao breathe.

“Just finish at the track, did you?” Lilly asked.

“Ha! Yep!” Emi confirmed. “Only had one heart flutter, and Nurse said he should be fine if he takes it easy for the rest of the day. Probably!”

“Aha… yeah, I’m good… totally fine…” Hisao agreed.

Lilly nodded in approval as food and tea were set before she and Hanako. She raised the teacup to her lips in one hand while Hanako occasionally fed her bites of their brunch. Crisp and refreshing… a perfect start to the day, as always.

“Well. Whatever shall we do today?” Lilly wondered.

“That’s up to you, missus president! You’re the boss! Wahahahaha~!” Misha pointed out.

“Ah, yes! I suppose I am!” Lilly remarked. “It is certainly good to be the quee—err, rather, the president. I do think the Student Council has come a long way since its last leader, don’t you?”

A chorus of murmuring agreement went up from the room.

“Yes, she was all work and no play, wasn’t she? Why, at one time, the only other member was you, Misha. Those must have been dark times.”

“Ahehehaha~! Yeah, Lilly-chan, yeah! You’re… super great as president!” Misha agreed. “Definitely totally!”

“Mmmm,” Lilly hummed, acknowledging her well-earned praise. It was true—Lilly demanded little of her council members, and afforded them many powers and privileges. So long as her every whim was catered to, they were practically free to do as they pleased! There was only one thing missing. Lilly snapped her fingers and pointed to her feet. The servant obediently crawled into place, curling her limbs under her so that Lilly’s feet could rest comfortably upon her back.

Ahh, yes. Now everything was truly perfect. She gave Hanako’s side a squeeze and sighed with contentment. It was so perfect that she hardly wanted to address the question of how to actually spend their day… perhaps she’d simply sit and bask for a time… her loyal attendants would wait patiently for her next decree, after all.

As if in response to this conundrum, the door of the council room burst open suddenly.

“Hey sis! Long time no see!” Akira said. “I come bearing gifts!”

“The lady of the hour!” Lilly said happily, hearing the clink of bottles as Akira crossed the room to her desk. Akira always came bearing the same sorts of gifts, and they were always very much appreciated.

“Thought I’d stop by and hang with my favorite family member for a while,” Akira said. “And of course, no visit is complete without a few bottles of pinot noir!”

“You do keep us well-stocked,” Lilly said. “I suppose now we know what to do with our day. Bottoms up, everyone!” she announced.

With permission to indulge given, excited conversation broke out around the room. Naturally, there was a set of drinking glasses on a side table right next to the tea set, and the Student Council got to work pouring themselves a round. Lilly took her feet off of the servant’s back so that she could do her part, namely by filling a glass for her master. Perhaps if she were particularly obedient, Lilly would even allow her a few sips of the sweet nectar.

Just as she had that thought, the room suddenly went silent.

“Shicchan… you shouldn’t…” Misha muttered.

“Oh dear,” Lilly said, her voice conveying disappointment with a hint of excitement underneath. It was rarely of question of if the servant would act out of place… usually just a question of when. Lilly couldn’t deny that she took a bit of pleasure in an opportunity to remind the wretched thing of her proper place.

“What has she done this time?” Lilly asked, feigning exasperation.

“Shicchan says… we’re not allowed to have adult drinks in the council room…” Misha relayed, her voice unusually timid and reserved.

“Does she now? Well. I’ll just have to let her know what I think of that,” Lilly said. “Akira? Hisao?”

Lilly heard a brief commotion as her two enforcers took the naughty girl and brought her before her master. Hanako got up and stood aside, already familiar with how this would go. She handed Lilly her cane as the council president snapped and pointed at the desk. The other girls quickly cleared it off as Akira and Hisao bent the offender over it. She wasn’t allowed to wear anything beneath the apron tied around her waist, so her rear was already exposed and ready to receive its due diligence.

Lilly cupped one of Shizune’s full, shapely buttocks, feeling its curves before pulling up on it so that it jiggled around. She could feel her hated cousin shivering with dread, and that in turn filled her with anticipation.

“Such a nice ass… it would be a shame to see it go to waste,” Lilly said, taking her cane in both hands and lining up her swing. “Let’s see what we can do about that.”

The room was completely silent but for the resounding smack as her cane slammed into Shizune’s bare behind. The stupid thing always tried to stay still and silent, to resist and bear it… so silly of her. The sooner she went ahead and howled, the sooner this game would be over. Lilly felt her jump a bit on the second impact, and the third was accompanied by a loud knock as her knees reflexively buckled and hit the desk in front of them.

The fifth blow finally brought a low whimper from Shizune’s throat.

“Ah yes. Now we’re getting somewhere.”

Again.

“Do you understand now?” Lilly asked.

Again. Shizune’s voice heightened to a high-pitched squeal.

“This is my council, Shizune! These are my friends, my lovers!”

Again. Shizune squirmed and fought to escape, but she was held fast at Lilly’s mercy.

“You’re a horrible president—you always were! It should’ve been me that won that election!”

The last of Shizune’s restraint gave way and she let out a full-throated scream, begging wordlessly for mercy as Lilly laid into her harder than ever. It was music to Lilly’s ears.

“You and the loud-mouthed whore stole it, with your simpering smiles, your fake promises! You just flaunted those perky tits and those fat asses this way and that, so all the boys would get your votes. I might not have seen it, but I know you did! You never deserved to be president! I deserve it, you hear me? I do! I should be—”

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

***

Lilly tossed fitfully as the dream faded away, interrupted so very rudely by the blaring of her alarm clock. She flailed around for her side table until she found the infernal thing and pounded its off button.

Eight o’clock, it intoned.

The blind girl sighed. In the room next to her, she could already hear Hisao and Hanako going at it again, their standard activity to start the day. The creaking of the bed springs, his hot, breathy moans, matched by her fervent squeals… they were like jackrabbits ever since they started dating. And Lilly’s delicate ears could hear every detail of it, even when they had tried to be discreet. Which they no longer did. She rolled out of bed and decided to get dressed, if only to get away from the maddening sound.

“Stupid boy… He would’ve never even had a chance with her if it weren’t for me…” Lilly mumbled bitterly.

There wasn’t necessarily anything wrong with her former best friends dating, of course. Lilly simply wished they would remember her a bit more… recently she’d had to take tea alone more often than not, and then in the past week, she’d given up on the tea room entirely. Anytime she tried to get a hold of the two, they always seemed to be “busy” with this thing or that, and she could always hear the other one giggling in the background when she called. She didn’t care how often they had sex, she just wished that it wasn’t so often…

She had even grown so frustrated that she tried to make friends with Rin, but this went about as well as she had expected. That conversation ended rather abruptly when Rin bluntly asked her if she was jealous of Hanako and Hisao. Then there was her attempt to get to know Emi… that one had gone better for her emotional well-being, but not her physical health, as Emi insisted on showing her some exercises that “even you can do!” Her joints still ached in protest of them as she finished pulling her clothes on.

Just as she did, a knock came at the door, so loud and insistent that she fell right down on her rear.

“Damn it!” Lilly swore.

“I heard that, Lilly-chan~! You shouldn’t use naughty words like that. It’s not becoming of a class rep! Wahahahaha~!” came the voice on the other side of the door.

That nearly caused her to swear again.

“What is it, Misha?!” Lilly yelled out angrily. “It’s eight in the morning!”

“Yep yep~! And you still haven’t turned your budget request in! We as the Student Council thought we’d pay a visit to make sure you remember your duties as class rep. Ahahaha~!”

Lilly growled, feeling her composure beginning to fray. Why oh why did her horrid cousin have to obsess over such stupid nonsense?

In the room next door, the bed still creaked and the couple still pounded away, either oblivious to the council’s presence or too engrossed in each other to care. Likewise, if Misha heard them going at it, she didn’t make any indication that Lilly could hear. She suddenly imagined the two of them, Misha and Shizune, signing away about how funny it was that she had to sit in here and listen to her two best friends doing that every day… in fact, she was sure that was what they were doing… at least until they pounded on her door again.

“Open up, class rep~! We’re not going away until we get that form! Wahahaha~!”

Lilly rubbed her eyes and groaned, feeling tired and defeated. Yet another wonderful, wonderful day…
