Here comes a new challanger
Here comes a new challanger
So, there has been a lot of dub attempts of KS. Lots of people have taken a crack at it but they have pretty much all failed. Here is the most resent one I found and I might say that I am cautiously optimistic about it. They seem to aim at releasing one episode a month and the latest one came out about a week ago. What do you guys think?

Is it really a good idea to dub everything? I am not an expert in VNs, but I get the impression that internal monologue is usually left undubbed, as does main character's speech. For it not to drag too much, I suppose.ArcCain wrote:So, there has been a lot of dub attempts of KS. Lots of people have taken a crack at it but they have pretty much all failed. I think they are going to skip some things. Like minor scenes. Doing everything would be a lot of work.

It seems to me that KS would lend itself better to being read in the manner of an audio book rather than dubbed.
If only because there has literally never been a dub that doesn't make Emi and usually Mischa's voices incredibly irritating.

Isn't that the point though with Misha? At least at first?

I'm familiar with Tyranee's projects. He's completed several others before, so he has plenty of experience in that regard. The cast seem to be largely okay, if a bit low budget on some of their mics, and the production value is consistent. They just need to take a little more time on some lines for pacing and accuracy. Coming from someone who was part of one of those other dub projects (that failed miserably), I have confidence this one will do well.
Also, their Kenji reminds me of Todd Haberkorn. That is, it's a perfect casting.

The VAs are decent I think. Not sure how I feel about Rin though, I like her voice at some points but it feels of at others.BlackWaltzTheThird wrote:I'm familiar with Tyranee's projects. How far did your project get?

We released a bunch of trailers to a lot of hype then dumped all we had recorded (the intro up to Gateway Effect) just before we disbanded. It's somewhat well documented in other threads. Actually, at least one of our team members is a part of Tyranee's dub, so something good came out of it I guess.

Is he one of the voice actors? 'Cause I think I've heard Hisao somewhere before.

She's Yuuko's VA, Creedkeeper. She has previously worked with Tyranee on his Danganronpa dub.
