I like to imagine that in any universe where Rin X Hisao isn't a thing, she meets somebody in college just before she offs herself that brings her back from the brink similarly to what Hisao would have done otherwise.

This is how multiple routes work.
I love the interpretation of Pac-Man where he's a just a lowly worker retrieving golf balls left all over the course by the rich masters and the ghosts are all previous workers who got conked on the head and killed by incoming golf balls in the line of duty.

I'm not too sure she'd make it to college, but that would be a good ending.

We don't know that. Shizune's route goes on a lot longer than the others. Could have happened in all timelines.
NB: none of the above is a request

and Rin will almost have certainly still done the exhibition and so on.
In one of the other routes, (I forget which) Rin says that Nomiya has been pushing her to do an exhibition but she's just been ignoring him.

I know in Emi's she says that her teacher has been putting more pressure on her to work vaguely.

Welcome to the Katawa Shoujo forums. Where we over think things, and fuss over factional characters. Because we want to.
