I always wondered about Hanako in Lilly's route...
I... don't remember... but does Hanako confess to Hisao in that route? If so, that's a pretty big punch in the gut.
She doesn't and gracefully backs off after Hisao and Lilly get together, but it's somewhat implied that Hanako is attracted to Hisao in both her own route and Lilly's.

Nah, but it's pretty visible that she fancies you during her route anyway. Like when Akira says something about Hisao being lucky to see the two ladies in their pajamas and Hanako's all like "If it's him, I don't mind [Face-numbing blush]"

God, the fandom really play on this.
Pretty sure I read a supposed confession letter from Hanako based in Lilly's route during the holiday cottage thing.
I wouldn't mind if it didn't end with Hanako openly wondering if Lilly was still in the fucking Corn field

I fucking lost my shit at that point.

It's hard to believe the most popular thread is gone. I don't mind, though. ^^

That whole thing always bugged me. Lilly had just conveniently put Hanako to bed during the cornfield scene. That always seemed awfully condescending to Hanako. More than likely she was lying on the bed feeling miserable that she didn't speak up sooner. And that "He probably wouldn't have wanted someone like me anyway." And all the other things you thing when your self-confidence is in the crapper.

Why? Hanako, who might have seen her own parents die in front of her, saw another person she cared about have a light brush with death. It's perfectly believable that Lilly simply put Hanako to bed because the girl was an emotional mess. She's had nervous breakdowns caused by less drastic events. A confession was probably the last thing on Hanako's mind at the time.
More than likely she was lying on the bed feeling miserable that she didn't speak up sooner. And that "He probably wouldn't have wanted someone like me anyway." And all the other things you thing when your self-confidence is in the crapper.
Part of her probably felt bad, but let's not forget that at that point Hisao was already more interested in Lilly than in Hanako and Hanako probably already knew that. It's highly doubtful she missed the music box in Lilly's room after that party.

It's not completely unlikely that in both routes, both girls are harboring feelings towards Hisao and at first wait until he starts showing a special interest in one of them at which point the other girl decides to do what she can to help her best friend.

In Hanako's path, Lilly gives up on Hisao and, true to her mothering nature, takes both of them under her wing, making both subtle and less subtle attempts at getting them together.
In Lilly's path, Hanako gives up on Hisao and, true to her passive nature, decides to step out of their way and instead focus on her own well-being so Lilly and Hisao can enjoy their relationship without having to worry about her.

The two mirror each other...Lilly becomes more hands-on and Hanako becomes more hands-off, but both do their part to help their best friend out in their own special way. I don't think this is something to be depressed about. I actually think it's kind of sweet. It shows that despite the underlying issues in their relationship, Lilly and Hanako care a lot about each other.

Note how she enters. She just walks in loudly and abruptly.
In witnessing Hisao's heart flutter, she has decided to overcome her social anxieties and has grown in confidence.
She cured herself to prove her worth for Hisao
She wanted to show her friends that she is a new person, a better Hanako
SHE WALKS IN ON THEM FUCKING
