I have another question do either emi or rin ever say why rin's eating lunch in the art room the first time they meet? i mean dosn't she eat lunch with emi on the roof every day????

It's not lunch. There's no word for a meal that takes place around 4 o' clock (remember, the first Rin meeting takes place after class is already over) and that greatly bothers Rin as well.

Emi and Rin don't eat on the roof every day. Emi sometimes goes for a noon jog and Rin is left to her own devices. That day, she simply forgot about her lunch, remembered it after classes finished and decided to eat it on the spot.
