Well if he's cruel, Thanatos would sort of make his story use this general setup as the ending. Which would be cruel. Meh. :'(

The Akira pseudo-route is my favorite, to the point where reading this made me genuinely sad. It was well-written and enjoyable, but that twist ending is gut-wrenching.
