Reminded me of an episode of Scrubs, if anyone watches that series.

I felt this was wonderfully done. A twist ending that may be seeing too many appearances, but a very good one nonetheless. Nice job!

Which Scrubs episode was it anyway?

The premise does sound vaguely familiar, but it fit so well with all this that I must have thrown it out the window.

The verdict is (finally) in:
Hanako > Rin > Emi > Lilly = Shizune

I think my heart caught in my throat for a bit after I read the last lines. Well done.
we look like a pair of hit men
The reason that popped up in my head explaining Akira's death was that her, being relatively key in the company, was gunned down or killed in some other way related to the yakuza. That'd but a tragic irony in Kenji's 'akira is is the mafia' lines in Lilly's arc.

Yea, the idea was taken directly from se03ep14 'My Screw Up' from Scrubs.
Originally it had been a short paragraph written by an Anon (who must have previously posted in this thread) a short Katawa Shoujo version of the episodes end.
Much anger and Feels were had by all involved.
I decided to take it a step further and create a short story based on the idea. Believe me, it was not something I took lightly.
I love Akira!

... The feels I feel for Katawa Shoujo have just surged, combining with the feels that were felt when I watched said episode of Scrubs mentioned a few posts above.

I hate you sir, I hate you because of the bitch tears that have been shed!

But seriously, excellent work.

Fuuuu. You! .. Loved it, and the feels <3

I'm a massive scrubs fan, so as soon as Hanako said "where do you think we are?" I was suspicious. But I loves S3ep14 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Screw_Up.

A beautiful piece of fanfic, thanks for sharing it. And now to rummage through my DVD collection.

One question? How did Akira die? Dat liver?

Ohhh I felt this one. XD Liked the twist at the end. I didn't realize what was happening until he put the beer on the stone. Very nice. One worth reading.
