Reminded me of an episode of Scrubs, if anyone watches that series.

I felt this was wonderfully done. A twist ending that may be seeing too many appearances, but a very good one nonetheless. Nice job!

The reason that popped up in my head explaining Akira's death was that her, being relatively key in the company, was gunned down or killed in some other way related to the yakuza. That'd but a tragic irony in Kenji's 'akira is is the mafia' lines in Lilly's arc.

Yea, the idea was taken directly from se03ep14 'My Screw Up' from Scrubs.
Originally it had been a short paragraph written by an Anon (who must have previously posted in this thread) a short Katawa Shoujo version of the episodes end.
Much anger and Feels were had by all involved.
I decided to take it a step further and create a short story based on the idea. Believe me, it was not something I took lightly.
