Am I the only one who noticed that early on the story talks about Hanako having a mother? May want to edit that little detail out of there. I'm sorry but it almost made me just stop reading. Glad I kept on though, I think the story is pretty fantastic!

Read the time stamp. This story was written in 2009, before the full game came out. Hanako's profile on the website always merely mentioned her father having died. If a fic was written before january 2012 you should go into it with the expectation that there may be stuff in there that contradicts canon.
