What the hell indeed. Everyone seemed to like that final plot twist, but personally, I hated it. It was great to have Hisao successfully save all six girls, and then to have that success absolutely destroyed by the realization that "it was all a dream..."

Huh? I don't think the last part implies it was all a dream, rather that the last part is a kind of a dream.
But it's just my opinion, you don't have to care about it

It isn't the final chapter. He clearly said that 'the sage will continue' at the end of the note, so I don't think it's the ending. But if it is, Elroy, why aren't you making things clear a bit for us? We are all very confused...

Probably been mentioned a lot (I don't recall if it was), but this seems like a combination of Silent Hill 4 (especially with the capitalization of The Room) and House of Leaves.
