Yeah, I know what happened, but I posted this as well. Some guy is posting fanart of Katawa Shoujo under a DIFFERENT NAME. In fact, his entire account is dedicated to this.
It's pretty good, too.

Also, who's the artist of this picture, and why is it not in the Shimmie yet?

Tsubai, a pixiv artist (http://www.pixiv.net/index.php?id=68393). His drawings are based on Raita's page, but he uses his own interpretation (coloring, names, and backstories) of it.

Um, I think it's not in the Shimmie because we don't put stuff that's already in the game in the Shimmie, if I'm not mistaken.

The OP image is from the game itself and done by the game's artists. After completing the demo you see it.

Do you mean "complete the demo" as "get ALL of the routes"? Because I didn't get that image.

All routes and all scenes.

There is a bug whereby you'll have all scenes done in the library and 100% completion, but not having seen Lilly's ending will not have triggered the ending CG.

All routes, not all scenes. I was, sadly, missing the cathartic yet elusive "tell off Misha for being a stupid prick" scene, stuck at 98% after completing all the routes, yet I definitely saw the CG.

You basically have to reach the final scene for each girl to unlock it, that's all. (I'd say "unlock" instead of "reach" but that doesn't account for Lilly's glitch.)

As for the actual question, it was probably more of an immersion thing than being paid for it.
