Disable Adult Content doesn't disable some adult content

Post by Pepe »

I've been playing this with the "disable adult content" and have reached Emi Act 3, "Up, Down and Up Again" (and was greeted by a picture of a hamster). After that, we have the scene when Rin barges in while still showing Emi topless which apparently was not disabled.

I'd assume that not many people here would be playing with the "disable adult content" option on 100% of the time, and this may have been overlooked. It just defeats the purpose of turning the option on to make the game more work-safe. Since the dialog in that part was pretty minor, there shouldn't be a problem with skipping it entirely

...Seems it happens on other routes too. Just wondering if there's a way to make the option turn the game completely work-safe, without possibly ruining major parts of the story

Nope. It disables the sex scenes, not nudity.

Is there any job where reading Visual Novels can be considered "work-safe"?
Where do I send my application?

I dunno about you, but I still consider that as Adult Content

Well, I played Little Busters during my free time at work (we have lenient policies). But that isn't the point :P

My main point would be just knowing if 4LS just neglected this issue, or they never intended to disable it, even with the option selected. After all, since it says "disable adult content," one would expect that it would disable the adult content therefore making it playable in, say, public. I myself have a personal reason why I don't play VNs with ero content, and I played this expecting the option to do what it says. So if it can be considered a "bug" then I'm just reporting it as so, so that it can be fixed in perhaps one of the following versions.

Otherwise, if 4LS does not intend to block this scene even with the option on, then I can live with that.

The switch is there exclusively to protect adults from porn writing, not to protect them or minors from nudity (seeing as minors should never play a game where you can turn on the porn with a single click at any time anyway).

Also "adult content" has very widely different standards according to the country of the reader. That would hardly get a blink in mine, for example.

So in a nutshell no, we didn't intend to block that even with the option on.
Shattering your dreams since '94. I also fought COVID in '20 and '21, and all I got was this lousy forum sig.

Alright, thanks for the clarification :)

Well, the US Congress has VERY lax standards.

2xGPU clients (GTX 465/GTS 250); 2xCPU clients

Mostly just want to include I was also really surprised when I ran into those scenes. It wouldn't have been so bad if she had...something up top (like she did at the bottom), but I was more than a little horrified--especially as there were parts where it just seemed to last forever. Heck, even some of the lines seemed pretty NSFW during these parts even though the NSFW (I love the random images for censoring btw) pictures do not contain any of the dialogue.

Maybe I'm a bit of a prude (I probably would be by Emi's standards), but I did not expect that at all. I really hope character stills like that aren't in the other routes.

Mostly just posting as I didn't want the OP to think they were the only one.
