Moving saves from Mac to Windows

I can't seem to get my saves from my MacBook to load up on my windows pc. Both downloads are the same version.I've tried replacing the renpy folder with the one from my previous computer but I only got an error. And just pasting the saves folder from the old computer didn't work. Any ideas?
