Lilly's made me laugh when it first happened because I sort of saw it coming.

Hanako's actually made me feel bad when I pieced together why she couldn't jump and why she was getting scared all of a sudden.

Yes I thought it would not happen, but it happened.

But officially, nothing like this has been confirmed for Hanako, no ? (I confess that I would find it a bit cliché)

The levels stop changing around level 6 except the barrels always move a little faster and are released a little more often the higher the level.

Once you start with a mid-level fireball and don't have the middle fire extinguisher, it gets pretty hard.

The "course A-Z" (instead of "random") repeats failed levels exactly, so you can keep repeating a level until you solve it (though some of them, particularly Rin's, might be impossible). That is, level 1-A for Shizune is the same for everyone, every time -- that second barrel will always fall down those two ladders after it rebounds the top level landing, for example.

I was wondering about that. Any hints on how to unlock said level?

It's an alternate ending, so you can't be playing unlimited lives (which never ends). It makes some sense how you get it, it's not arbitrary.
