That was some impressively appropriate and thought-out word play.

Thanks very much! Am thinking of whether I can do it for any of the rest...

I repost a little haiku I wrote for brythain's AtD:Emi's Story:

Blissful cloudless days
To a sorrowful future
Emi at her Emiest
I like all the girls in KS, but empathize with Hanako the most.

I remember thinking that this captured Emi's spirit pretty well, in a different way from dewelar's, which also did that.

Hanako

Hisao Nakai writes Bad Poetry for Hanako Ikezawa

we both hid pain in our own ways
we were two people trapped inside
you my flower waiting to bloom

we hoped for love in our own days
to be two people wrapped and tied
presents opened in cosy room

some day in dusty library
reader opens a book to see
two dried flowers without a doubt
one burnt within, one burnt without
their stems twined around each other
one a father, one a mother
things that in school we left behind
for a marriage of heart and mind

I call this one "A Simple Desultory Romantic (Or How I Was Emi Ibarazaki'd Into Submission)".

Sitting up on the roof, eating our sandwiches,
Quickly I notice your delicate hand, which is
Snaking its way through my trousers of green.
No, not in public! We're going to be seen!

Jogging along with you out on the track
As I try to avoid another heart attack,
You shout, "To the shed!" but I just shake my head.
We've been there before, let's keep running instead.

We're back in my bedroom (and not yours, somehow).
Could this be the time? Would you like to right now?
Oh sure, you have homework, and studying too.
I throw at the wall, in frustration, my shoe.

I'm sitting alone, feeling plenty aloof,
But you peek round the corner and say, "To the roof!"
There's no one else up here (at least I don't think)
But the stars in white splatters in a sky black as ink.

I love how you smile when you know what's to come
Although it may be indiscernable for some.
The stars shine down love-light, which your eyes reflect,
I'd lie if I said that I wasn't erect.

All those times earlier lead up to this,
I realize, as you lean in for a kiss.
I'm sorry, you readers, for being a jerk -
This poem can't be much less NSFW.

Oh that is heartrendingly funny… next scene climax is followed by anticlimax as Hisao falls off the roof.

You bestow upon me this bit of information:
"A running start's best for the best penetration."
But before I can lend this claim any proof,
I take one step too far back - straight off the roof.

Hello ^^ Im new here, and I just created an account to share with you guys the sonet I wrote last night when I couldn't sleep after another finishing Emi's route. It's related to some big changes Emi made in my life, but I believe anyone who finished and truly lived Her story had similar thoughts and reflections, and thus will understand the message I wish to pass in these simple words.
Hope You enjoy it ^^

Chasing tomorrow

I still can't forget that when we first met
My heart was trembling, and so was my soul.
I looked at Emi, still covered in sweat
I realized my life has just found new goal.

Back then I feared my bad luck will last
And my life will include nothing but sorrow.
But she was the one who freed me from past
She made me run for the hope of tomorrow.

My body was shivering when we first kissed;
The very gentle touch of her sacred lips
Released me from all harm I ever have witnessed.

Some say she doesn't exist, and I'm just insane.
They, whose lives will never go out of eclipse
are just like I was - but I broke my chains.

I originally wrote this for the Hanako week going on over on the reddit subreddit, but hey i figured I'd share over here as well, hope you enjoy!

Cavern Exploration
The scream of my heart was merely a murmur
my life turned inside out by that silent shout
A new start? Or simply a delayed death?
My soul aches and pulses along the jagged flaw on my chest

My class is starting, much like the original, yet not
My eyes are drawn to yours
I try to smile, your eyes grow wide
your head jerks quickly away. My forlorn heart grows unsure

my gaze falls upon you entranced in a tale spun bold
A second chance, my soul bore wide
Your hair flows down your face
like a waterfall concealing the sparkling cavern behind it

My words stutter as I attempt to peer in
your surprise enraptures my being
a few words exchanged entwines my senses
but fleeting; as your retreat swallows my pride

but truly i did see the wonder that yet resides
behind that glistening wall of hair
the gems that sparkle in that precipice beyond
a barrier i labor to overcome

A spot of tea, a game of chess
Your eyes like precious stones start glowing
I feel like a timid cub peering over a forbidden garden wall
Our tortured souls begin to dance

A shared friend who's grace helps merge our fates
Stares deeply into the void that seperates
and though the light forsakes her
Her hand guides us ever closer

And when her absence threatens to tear us down
our shared connection thrives
I brush away that divisive screen
our voices stammer and break

Your porcelain hand finds my scarred heart
Mine eyes and yours do lock
A shared moment broken only by a timid kiss
Two scared and scarred fates entwined together

For Emi

Post by brythain »

For Emi Ibarazaki

All our limbs entangled,
Her twin-tailed hair untied,
Here I am at Emi
Ibarazaki’s side.

Life is long and painful,
But Emi’s short and sweet—
Hey, she says, mock-angry,
I’m only short two feet.

Ran a mile this morning—
I never thought I could.
Emi said I’d do it:
That’s how I knew I would.

Looking back in wonder,
I see how far we’ve run—
Shadows lie behind us
Ahead we see the sun.

Some day we’ll be ending,
Two runners out of breath.
But I’ve learnt, dear Emi
Love surely conquers death.

(also for SpunkySix and other Eminences :) )
