Picked up a gashapon figure at Kinokuniya yesterday, and thought it looked an awful lot like my favorite girl. So, a little bit of paint and...

I'll probably go over the hair again to get rid of the blue. but thats for another day. The figure itself is only about 2 1/2 - 3 inches tall.

Very nice! I'd really like to see the figure after you're done with the hair, if you're willing of course. :)

Of course. I may tone down the burns a bit too. I used acrylic paint, so its easy to wipe/scrape/wash off.

Here's a slightly tweeked version. I've lightened her scars and added more purple to her hair.

The scars really need to cover more of the right side of her face, but what's there is really well done. That is definitely among the more realistic depictions of burn scarring I've seen in Hanako fanart. The pink skin near the scars on the neck is a particularly nice detail.
It occurs to me that if you painted the shirt she's wearing pink, it would end up looking an awful lot like her nightgown.

I suppose you're right. I'll adjust it on the second one. A friend on Facebook bought this one from me. :)

The pink shirt is a great idea. thanks!

Aww thanks. :)

The figure is from a show called Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou. Something about a shy girl who runs an antique book stores and helps solve mysteries. The whole series of figures is adorable, but that ones really the only one that looks like Hanako.

This looks like she has fucking necrosis there right now. Eugh.
On all them other ways, it's so good I can't applaud you enough for that.

That's the trouble with using a flash. Its tends to over-enhance every little detail. Her scars are a lot more subtle to the naked eye.

I've always liked the idea of modifying figurines to make them look like another. Most of them that I've seen were interesting-- buff Mario and Luigi figurines and so on, but this is really cool. Wow, it looks like it was supposed to be Hanako. You did a really great job!

Aww thanks. If only her hair cascaded down the opposite side, she'd be a dead ringer.
