Ignorant things said by Internet know-it-alls

People really like to complain about things that they've never looked at. The people for this fandom tend to be especially bad due to the sensitive subject matter. This topic is for posting all of the insanely inaccurate, bizarre or just plain laughable things that people have said about this game despite never even downloading it. Maybe the devs'll get a good laugh out of it, and we can all groan along with them.

I'll start us out:

So, uh, is no-legs girl the love interest for that extra-special sick subset of people who don't just want a cripple, they want a jailbait cripple?

Stay classy, Katawa Shoujo!

Because dating an amputee is sickening, right? And obviously she's creepy jailbait, even though she's one of if not the oldest love interest in the game.

IMPORTANT: Read all of page 2 before posting here. Something has come to my attention that will either make or break this topic.

One time I was on a thread where a wheelchair-bound girl posted nudes, and people, including me, were appreciating her. I told her I'd call her Emi, and she asked what that meant. Some asshole jumped in before I could reply and "explained" that I was referring to "a hentai game" where a legless character by that name does anal and then has to use a wheelchair as a result. He concluded by asserting that I was the one being a prick.

To be totally frank, I suspect that whoever wrote that was just trolling. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Also, a thread dedicated to negativity is likely to get nuked. :p

Actually, it's more like "laughing at idiots spouting shit when it's clear they have no idea what they're talking about"

Generally, I haven't ended up in many places where someone talks shit about Katawa Shoujo.

Most of the "shit-talking" is related to Emi looking like jail bait (and when we see her from before her appearance was updated, it's kind of obvious why that gets brought up)
I write take a look, would you kindly?
I also draw, kind of.

My little brother actually made fun of me for playing 'The cripple Game', as he liked to call it. Does that count?

Tell him he's playing The Crying Game.

The thing about accusations over Emi that she's pedo-bait is, you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. If you like women with big boobs and hips and bubble butts, you're setting unrealistic beauty standards. If you like them waiflike, you're a pedo. If you like them in-between, you're objectifying.

I like women, subjectively and sometimes interjectively.

I had someone say someone should call Chris Hansen (the To Catch A Predator guy) on me in a thread about preferred body type. This was because I stated my preference for the (Emi-style) slim and petite, illustrated by a clothed pic of adult star Annabelle Lee who is 5'2, 105lbs, 32A chest and 31 years old.

A mod agreed it was not appropriate to make such allegations and removed their post.

Although it's clear that the devs intended that to be a bit of a reversal of expectations, considering the whole "we upgraded your loli" thing when they redid her sprites.

(And, depending on how you reconcile KS with how reality works, Lilly's actually the oldest, and Rin is either a day older or 364 days younger. Hisao, Shizune, Hanako, Misha, and possibly Rin (in approximately decreasing order of age - Hisao may be younger than Shizune, though) are the main characters who are in the "correct" school year for their age. And, if I'm right about Rin, she's actually the jailbait.)

In a sense, yeah.

First, look at this image, then its description in the link, then the comments section. People... really think this, which is what inspired this topic.

What's funny though is that the drawings themselves aren't bad at all, and given the right context and respect, the characters could probably work, if not in KS then something similar but a bit more fantasy-like. The hunchback girl in particular looks usable in a story.

True, though, it's hard to appreciate the quality of the art when it was made with hatred.
