It's true that if someone is going to accept something like this, being up front from the beginning is the best way to go. However, that assumes that they're capable of such acceptance in the first place.

As for me, I live a couple thousand miles from most of my family, so this is not a concern. I doubt my father would care much if I told him, though.

Okay, I like Hanako a lot, but listen to me man... wife this girl. Now. She knows what's up.
What she did a month or so ago effectively put her in the "Real life totally would waifu 10/10" zone of my brain.

So, I was away from home for about a month or so for a trip with the Uni, basically I just went back to where I did my industrial placement for some practical parts of my course. When I got back she tells me to come over. Obviously, after a month of being apart you guys can tell what Im expecting, So when I get there, I let my self into her house, it basically seemed completely empty, until a Girl clad in a gym outfit with her hair fashioned into pigtails jumps on my back and screams "You're late!" in the most cheerfully highpitched voice ive ever head.

I totally did not fall over unceremoniously due to the surprise weight on my back i swear.

As a footnote though, she in no way looks like Emi, Imagine a Black haired (No bow), brown eyed, 5'9" lilly with a slightly smaller waist and hips and thats about as close as you can get using KS characters. But hey, It was still the most adorable thing anyone has ever done.

My parents know (my mother is always curious about what games I'm playing, the one that intrigued her the most was Shenmue) and don't care. One of the advantages of being a big boy who doesn't live at home any more.

What puts me on edge is when I want to show my parents pictures on my phone. I'd rather they didn't scroll through them themselves...

This. My father has outright told me that hentai is disgusting and anime is too weird, not knowing that I'm into both. Well, he knows about anime, but he doesn't know how much I like it, or think I'd go into hentai territory. Whenever he brings up how "bizarre" and "messed up" it is, I just sort of nod and agree.

Coffee, you're a lucky guy. Metal, I know the feeling... my parents use my laptop sometimes and I always get ultra paranoid about it.

Oh, just do what i do with my questionably legal porn. Hide the files inside a folder of various personal work folders that your parents would have no interest in.
...or, you know, just point out the bronies. Again, your parents could find out your into German scat porn but it still wouldn't matter to them because at least acid trip horses aren't involved.

Well, I know some of these people. <.<

Never had anyone show any interest in what I'm playing on here as far as VNs go...But then, I usually tab out of that stuff when people walk in because I don't care to hear a revamped version of the ignorant nonsense they've already tossed out over my anime watching. And I think I alienated at least one relative after he saw me playing Nethack on my iphone and decided to ask about it.

What does that have to do with anything related to KS?

Apparently liking certain RPGs or TV shows is morally lower than cripple porn.

Stop right the fuck there. Right. The fuck. There. 'Bout to get genre savvy up in this biznitch. This is the exact point where we go flying off the rails and Cook ends up coming in 50 posts later, shaking his head and making longing glances at his frying pan of ban.

I'm rerailing this shit before it even starts going there. Fuck the police, I'mma follow the laws:

Where exactly does KS fall on your parent's/friend's scales of acceptable/unacceptable, with 1 being awful and 10 being totally accepting?
