I am about as pale as Hanako is, so that's out the window
If anything, I'm gonna assume Miki's family is from Okinawa or Hokkaido, as people in those areas of Japan tend to more easily tan than others.

There used to be a fair number of Basque sailors in Lisbon. Perhaps their descendants, now all supposedly Portuguese, have carried on their name.
