When I reread Contact by Carl Sagan, I started just having my unabridged dictionary (the massive paper kind, back when we used those) next to me, as I was looking up new words just about every other page. Enjoyed every minute of it.

It has crossed my mind that she having normal hair while having half of her face burned is strange if not impossible, and adding the fact she has purple hair would make her wearing a wig make perfect sense, but if dev says its false than its false I suppose.

Purple hair is just anime, wacky colourful and impossible hairstyles are simply treated as natural.

And its perfectly possible, as long as her hair roots werent completely destroyed

Well if it was irl it would have been black but anime tends to use more lively/wacky colors for dark haired people.

But as Misha's hair is said dyed, and the hair colors of Jigoro, Shizune and Hideaki are never noticed, I think it means that their hair is seen a shade of black in-unniverse.

But yeah a full cast of black-haired characters would be boring (in animation), if you must be realistic with japanase physical features.

Is Misha's hair naturally blonde or is it brown? I always remember is as dark blonde :S. If so, wouldn't the idea of a Japanese person with blonde hair be odd? I didn't know it was genetically a thing for asians to have blonde hair, or is it just incredibly rare?

Misha's hair prior to the Lilly/Shizune split was brown. Asians generally don't have hair that light unless they're at least partially albino or… very old.
