I would definitely be writing the blind girl.
I am very close to a girl in my school who is blind. She is remarkable.
Remarkably intelligent and very philosophical yet not intimidating and very amiable. She knows how to play the piano (very well) and can sing beautifully.
TBH she would be Lilly but with some more quirks and interesting stuff just forced in. She also has some problem with her speech and every now and than she gets stuck on a word (which is strange because she doesn't while singing).

I cannot see her as a romantic interest though.

I'd have probably done the music if I was given a role. And made a much worse job than NicolAmalfi did, I'm sure

The fact that you might have included Love Shack in the soundtrack almost makes me think it would have been worth the drop in quality.
