Dude. It's a story. Stories are supposed to reflect the human condition. Part of the human condition is the fact that people aren't perfect. They make mistakes. Often. Sometimes very bad ones. And teenagers are particularly prone to them.

So yeah, Hisao makes some mistakes. He does some really stupid things. All people do, especially when interacting with other people. If you've never made a mistake interacting with people, and have always been able to understand others, then take that gift and make use of it. With something like that, you could probably bring about world peace if you put a little effort into it. Hell, even if you have a much more basic ability to empathise and truly see things from another person's perspective, that's a talent that shouldn't be wasted and should be turned toward making the world a better place.

For the sake of the story, what matters is whether or not the mistakes seem contrived, or immersion breaking. If you want to discuss that, there are certainly many people who would gladly engage you on that point. But do you honestly want a story where the main character is perfect and never makes a mistake?

The way I see it, you can forgive people for being human and move on with your life, possibly even enjoy it; or you can be a bitter misanthrope and lash out at people (real or fictional) because they made the wrong decision and you would have made the right one. Your choice, really. (And no, there's no amount of bitter personal experiences that make misanthropy the only choice. If you're going to be a misanthrope, man up and be proud of your decision.)

Also, I'm pretty sure Xanatos isn't a brony. He just likes changing his avatar to get a reaction out of people. Congratulations, you're another notch on his belt.
