Not sure if you care, but here is a little story.

Post by Aizer » Sun Aug 11, 2013 8:14 am

I was born on a normal family.

But i wasnt that normal.
They discovered that i got
Alexithymia and the Core of Asperger Syndrom.
And i made... bad things... I dont regret them.
Some people classified me as a sociopath.

I was on /b/ when i saw the KS thread.
First i didnt wanted to Download it, "A game about cripples? Not that sick, not at this moment."
But i finished my plans and has nothing to do, then i thought... Yes, why not, what can be wrong?

I never smiled (Not naturally, i can obviousbly force an smile as i can force to cry)
never cried, always at a neutral status. May not a good life, but when someone asks
if i dont want to be normal, i just say "Why i should keep worrying about a thing i never had?" Not
sure if the phrase on english its like that, this isnt my mother language.
Well, continue. I entered the game, looked at the main character for having an attack
on his first date. Weak boy.
I continued playing and took the Shizune route, Thought was the first one or whatever.
Liked Kenji histories (Pretty real on their own case, feminists are taking more power, everyone knows that.)
And then... I continued. I reached the ending... And for first time on my life.
I smiled.
I have a weird smile.
But... Well, its my smile.
I dont know if i was happy. Because im never sure if i am happy or sad.
But... I enjoyed it, those are... the "feel" thing you discuss here?
Its... Strange, a new sensation. And i dont know if i should
tell about this to the psychologist.
Probably yes, well... Not the best story, may a poor one.
I just wanted to write it, may it falls and no one sees it.
But, here it is. I am not that cold guy that everyone says no?

Good bye.

Welcome to the forums, Aizer.

One thing this game will teach you and you need to remember is that you are no different than anyone else. We all are people and we all have issues and damage that we need to come to terms with. You seem like an okay person in my book.

I am a lot like you. I rarely smile, rarely cry. A lot of the time, a smile for me is forced, and even more rare is a genuine smile. I can probably count the number of times thats happened in my life on one hand.

Until I played this game. This game has a way of bringing feelings out of people they dont normally experience. More than once playing through the game I shed some silent tears, and more than once it made me smile. Especially in Hanako's route. Shizune's route didnt do much for me, but everyone is different and we all resonate with different characters for different reasons. Play through all the routes. You may find another girl that resonates with you more than Shizune, and they may make you see other sides of yourself that you didnt realize were there before.

This picture sums up what Katawa Shoujo is about pretty well.

Lilly = Hanako, Emi, Rin, Shizune
I fell in love with Lilly and Hanako

You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be your Emiest.

You mean this is a place filled with people who rarely
got feelings?

Probably more accurate to say it's a place filled with people, who rarely had their feelings acknowledged IRL.

So they come here to find that acknowledgment instead.

Or people who thought they weren't supposed to have such feelings. Or were embarrassed to have the kind of feelings this game brings out of you. And on and on...

We are all kindred spirits in that way. This game has touched us all, and all are welcome to share its magic.
Rin is orthogonal to everything.
Stuff I've written: Developments, a continuation of Lilly's (bad? neutral?) ending - COMPLETE!

There's no shame in being yourself, just try to be the best "you" that you can be.

Welcome to the party, Aizer. I hope you stick around.

Have you gone through just the one route, and if so, do you plan on reading the rest?

I was once advised. Never stop being who you are and never give up.
passing these words to you.
play and enjoy rest of the game.
Remember that eventually everything will be ruled by tortoises.

I can sympathise with you Aizer. I don't have it a medical condition like you, but I have to hide my true feelings about many things. I have to be cynical in public. It's a defense mechanism that I adopted to combat bullying. It is a different scenario to yours, but KS brought me joy just like it seems to have done to you. I'm glad we both experienced this.
