For some reason, even the first time I played it, I realised what it was. I guess I just assumed since Hisao knew Hanako would be in the library, and that Lilly would be somewhere in the town, that it was really just a choice between who you wanted to try and spend time with

Actually it makes sense that it would work that way, however in the game they make it fairly obvious that the cliches don't always apply. Just because you think something is going to happen when you pick a choice, doesn't mean that it will.

because of this, even when the game does rely on typical VN style choice, it never quite felt obvious what was going to happen to me.

Well before KS I'd never played a VN, so I guess I just wasn't really thinking about second guessing it because I had a fresh perspective on it.

I feel like most of KS is fairly straightforward in terms of figuring out what the choices are going to lead to; when you play Risk with Shizune, and you have the option to play either aggressively or defensively, it seemed to me like it was pretty straightforward as to what I was choosing; do I want to appeal to her competitive nature and win her over? Or do I want to be defensive and show that I'm not that type of person?

Then again there are choices like choosing to talk about the letter or not that had me completely fooled

That was true in two cases... I don't know about you, but I've certainly never comforted any of my friends with my dick. :P

And then there is the fight at Emi's house... that wasn't really obvious. :?

I don't know about you but I knew what "context" was so it all went exactly as expected. :P

Man, all this talk about the "comfort" scene makes me look forward to it. Not only does it sound hilarious but it's also now impossible for me to get the wrong choice thanks to the spoilers.

Well right and wrong is somewhat subjective with that one. Who wouldn't want to cheat on their girlfriend with Misha after all?

If you're not with Lilly or Rin, you've already made the wrong choice.

I guess that explains the off/lacking-feeling in Hanako and Emi's routes

Gonna have to disagree the routes go.
1.2. Emi/Hanako (couldn't decide)
3. Rin (love Rin love her)
4. Lilly
5. Shizune
But everyone can like who they like not for me to say.

B-b-b-bu-but, Hanako!?!? I Lilly's route is still adorable though.

Hanako is adorable as hell but loses points because dealing with her is like pulling teeth. Goddamn social recluses...

Emi's is all kinds of cute too.

Well, I'm going to replay it and complete my current saves to 100% which won't take too long I think.
I'm probably going to replay it to completion yet again, this time by moving my save files to another location just to be safe.

So despite my previous post about what I was doing with decisiveness, I didn't expect this thread to be as popular as it was and as such many of the route votes changed. On top of that I came across the android version which, while having a few minor glitches, makes my decision for me regarding starting over clean with new save files. I've already been playing towards the Hanako/Lilly route through Act 1, so I'm most likely going to go Hanako's route first, then save Lilly's for last seeing as it's the only one with an Epilogue, and that's sort of symbolic to me.

At any rate, onward and upward my friends; I'll see you around.
