So I just finished up all the routes (Emi being my fav ) and I loved it. Some of the best writing I've ever seen. However I can't convince any of my friends to play (or I guess read) it. Now to be fare the idea doesn't sound good on paper. A Visual Novel about going to a school for disabled with sexual content that started on 4chan. I remember when I first found it from a youtube let's play I didn't like the sound of it either. Anyone else having this problem with their friends ?

Give them a link to download it and tell them it's great.
Some will try it, some won't. Some will finish it, and even less will appreciate it.

When the game was shown to me by one of my pals from another community, he didn't tell me anything about the piece. He just gave me a link to the website and said "download for feels".

"Download for feels?" That would confuse me more than convince me to play it.

I'd suggest something more like, "Play this. It might start slow, but trust me, it's awesome."

I'd either send them a link or let them play it from the beginning on my laptop.

If they don't like it, meh. If they like it, okay. I'll have some chats with them. I won't care/get worried until one of them joins these forums...

Another thing you could try is play it while your friends are near by. I was at a local coffee shop with my friends and I started playing KS because I was bored. Not 30 seconds later, my friend said "oh, what's that?". I let him start a file to read on my computer and let him go for a good hour. After that, he practically demanded I get the game on his computer.

My buddy's tied up between work in RL, SC2 and WoW. And he's a doc, so his empathy level is as low as they come. (Death of patient? Paperwork, to cite one example.)

The low empathy is more of an occupational hazard. If a doctor took every patient death personally as a failure of his/her ability and skill as a doctor and then having to tell the family, s/he would be much worse off than Rin after the art gallery opening.

Honestly, I don't see it as a problem at all. If you mention it to someone, and make sure to emphasize that you think it'll be worth their time, and they still aren't interested...maybe it just isn't meant for them? Okay, maybe they're wrong and it would interest them if they actually gave it a chance, but ultimately it's their decision to make. And I have no problem with people deciding to give KS a chance just as much as I have no problem with people deciding not to.

I actually kinda agree there. They might oversimplify things ad absurdum for the sake of comedy (and some of them really spoil the plot, even if KS has always been moreso about the journey for me), but honestly that might work towards the eventual surprising feels and I could think of far worse ways to introduce someone to KS.

I convinced my girlfriend because she made me watch king fu panda 1 and 2 with the words "you should never be prejudicial about something before you watch it" and I didn't watch it because it had Jack black. Who I can't stand. It made me cry. In a good way

So when I told her about KS she stated it was by 4Chan and was cripple porn (these guys didn't help http://m.youtube.com/index?gl=GB&tab=n1 ... 3Dn1#/home) I threw the excuse above back at her.

TLDR: use one of the films/books/games they suggested and say I trusted you with that, trust me with this.
