The sex is very secondary (depending on the lady involved). The therapy you need to administer? Boy howdy.

Yeah, the sex gets way over emphasized when people talk about this game. It's kinda annoying.

Yeah, we've discussed this in other threads as well, and it puzzles me to no end. Damn near every Hollywood film out there has a sex scene. Hell, even video games have it (Mass Effect and The Witcher series come to mind). Yet people get all bent out of shape over a few minutes out of KS's multi-hour storyline? I don't even pretend to understand.

Don't even get me started on Mass Effect. It was banned in Singapore because of the fact that Liara's romance scene involved and uncovered, completely the same shade blue, side boob. Though the "actual" reason was due to something about there being a "lesbian" romance. /facepalm

Seriously. although the scenes to me seem like an award for sitting through all that dialogue, (As weird as that sounds) they're really not amazing. Incredibly soft core. (NO visible penetration?? BS!) But still, the scenes are nice and I can't complain. But if you're looking for a hardcore Hgame, this is not the game for you my friend. If you're a sensitive 17 year old boy who happens to like romance novels, this might just be the game for you.

Dude, ME had a huge shitstorm, it was even called a sex simulator, The Witcher was fairly unknown, and when it became more popular the industry was more receptive to sex. People were not alarmed that KS had sex in it, the moral panic was due the Katawa part of the game.

They could claim that since Liara is from a mono-gendered alien specie its cant be considered a Lesbian romance, but, by doing so Liara romance with Male Shepard would not be considered a straight romance, it would just be romance, and two people expressing love is very offensive to every one...

The sex scenes in Katawa Shoujo, to me, are important in terms of the story, but not much else. They're not there for the same reasons Mass Effect has in mind.
For KS, it's more of a bonding moment (Unless you're with Emi, then it's debatable).
For ME, it's more of enticing a player to play the game, where a majority of the incentive is that ME combines Shooting, Sci-Fi, and a bed for two.

Sex is in there because is part of the human condition, it can be about bonding, but its not that simple its not just "let us consummate our perfect love with a perfect pure sex", there are lots of feelings involved, theres Guilty (Hisao on Hanako's route / Lilly bathtub scene?), Lust (Emi's first scene?), Loneliness (Misha's scene), Confusion (Shizune's first). Also there is happiness, joy, pride, etc. These emotions, and lots of more, depending on your interpretation are not just there to bond, they are there to move the plot, after all, its a story and the show must go on.

ME romance is there for the same reasons Baldurs Gate romance was there, it was a intimate moment before the storm, to give depth to an character, to show that the hero has someone to fight for, it was very well made and had repercussions throughout the plot, and then there was ME3 and everybody became bisexual and pro free love, and the nicely done romantic subplot turned into a soft porn clusterfuck.

Anyways, my point is getting kinda lost, the point is, Sex is part of the human life, as is fighting as is kissing, its a good thing to have it on a plot, and we should be more tolerant to it, even if the people that are fucking are aliens, lesbians or handicapped.

That's my viewpoint on the Asari as well. They can't be considered "lesbian" or "straight" since they are mono-gendered.

Ok, all the time is more correct. For bigots anyway.

So much more receptive, my copy came censored. And all it did was make me spend time patching it to remove the censor. Same with TERA since the Western release is "censored" (I.E., there's a bit more fabric on the characters that doesn't change much).

And what exactly about the disabled appearing in a game is worth a moral panic? :? People are dumb...

Actually that's why i picked it up. A lot of people initially thought Katawa Shoujo was a dating sim game that revolved explicitly around fucking the handicapped. It turned out to not be a dating sim or even a video game and actually pretty well made. Or maybe i just say that automatically because Hanako's ass hypnotizes me.
