Do you think KS will ever be adapted into an anime?

Hi, I'm new to the board. I played KS recently and I've only been through the Emi and Hanako routes for now.
Nevertheless I was really moved by it and was glad to come across it :)

I had a friend who was sick since he was young, and who passed away because of leucemia in high school, yet he always tried to be the happiest guy around.
I wish he could have seen this :/

Anyway, sorry for lamenting too long. Do you think that KS will ever be given the chance of becoming an anime?
And if not an anime, what about a manga, TV series or w/e?

Hm, as interesting as that would be, I don't think it'd ever happen :( There are so many different paths for the same characters in this game, so adapting it would be interesting...like a different "episode" or something for each path. but again, I don't see it happening...but I would actually love to read Manga versions of the paths. :D

Also, my condolences about your friend...*virtual hug*

I'm glad you enjoy KS :)

KS won't become an anime, manga etc.
A) the whole premise of the VN is build up around character choice - you can choose which girl to go with, and how things will turn out with her. The only way to really apply this to an anime or something would be a 15 ep (or w/e) season, split up into 5x3 eps, and each set of 3 eps is around one girl, with each set being an alternate timeline for Hisao (probably ending up with her good ending). This'd feel very strange to watch, as well as probably not convey the feels of the VN very well, which is what makes the VN exceptional.

B) 4LS have specifically stated that there'll be no more authorised Katawa Shoujo content that will be released (sequels, animes etc etc)

Keeping all this in mind though, I think the concept is interesting, although it would never match up to the game.

2 Years ago, the developer announced an Anime. Sadly it was just an April Fool.

I guessed it would be a long shot. I remeber other VN anime adaptations not matching to the original
(like tsukihime for instance). But it's a nice experience, cute anime voices and all :)

If it ever was, it would have to work in the same way that Amagami SS was set up where each girl has a 4-5 episode arc devoted to them, each one being a different time line.

Maybe, hopefully they will do it just like Clannad then, since that originally was a VN too.

I doubt it very much unless a wild group of animators all decide to do it....

Being unofficial and budget-less I doubt many would sign up.

you may never know...
I mean, budget-less and unofficial? If something like that could happen, who knows...

honestly it wouldn't work ... plain and simple ... If it is not done by 4LS it will turn into a cheap fan service hentai with a chocolate covered Hanako and sex with miki included .... i wouldn't watch it cause i respect 4LS to much for putting their heart and soul into KS for some rushed fan service series ... now if someone said " we are gonna take 2 to 3 years to do it right and not rush it for the true fans ... and do it later in the characters live lets say 5 years after KS ends" then i might check it our but i wont watch a fan service video rushed out to cash in on the popularity ks is riding right now

Why would you assume that just because fans creating an anime for KS would automatically mean that it would be shit? The entire 4Leaf team were not specialists in their field yet they created such a high-quality product!

Besides it's illegal to make any money off the intellectual rights of KS because of its Creative Commons license.

it took over 5 years to make it ... thats with out voice acting , a script ect ... plus u have to make new music and such ( copyrights ) ... so no money to pay ppl so it will be done but fans am i right ..... then u have to get it out well it still really popular ... so maybe u have 6 months at the most before the ban wagon fans start liking the next big thing .... so it will be rushed to try to ride the popularity that KS has right now ... so a rushed script , no money and fan service will equal suck imo ... but your more then welcome to prove me wrong

oh what about the cost of distributing dvds ( can't put on youtube for example ... 4LS would put a stop to that )

so without money are fans gonna be willing to put in what at least 8 hours a day 5 to 6 days a week for i would say at least 3 years to make an anime series of the same level of care , love , respect and excellence that KS has ??

I read in one of the dev blogs that the first 2-3 years were not used at full capacity, leaving a big shift behind.
