To be fair, that's not necessarily a KS thing. There's even a proper name for it, it's so common.
When every time you see fire, you think of Hanako...
<KeiichiO>: "I wonder what Misha's WAHAHA's sound like with a cock stuffed down her throat..."
<Ascension>: "I laughed, cried, vomited in my mouth a little, and even had time for marshmallows afterwards. Well played, Xanatos. Well played."
<KeiichiO>: "That's a beautiful response to chocolate."

I actually got more of that with Hanako, though in my defense i had grown so jaded from shit drama after shit drama after shit drama that suddenly getting the feels for the first time since my first time beating Silent Hill 2 was almost a startling sensation.

silent hill 2 wasnt that feels filled. more just creepy. silent hill 3 was better because almost everything twitches. silent hill 4 was even worse. ghosts never die and they twitch.
the only game that gave me feels, not including KS, was drakengard 2 and nier.

Everyone hides who they are at least some of their time. Sometimes you bury that part of yourself so deeply that you have to be reminded it's there at all. And sometimes you just want to forget who you are all together.

Well one, Katawa Shoujo isn't a game, it's a visual novel. To be a game it has to be possible for you to fail because of your own lack of skill.
Two, the feels from Silent Hill 2 aren't simply because it's scary. Yeah it is, but the feelings it gives you comes from the story, especially if you got attached to James. I always like to quote Yahtzee when describing the way Silent Hill 2 can make you feel:
"It's a fascinating voyage of pain and despair that leaves you emotionally drained and satisfied, like fucking a burning dolphin."
The fear of blood tends to create fear for the flesh.

Someone hasn't played Saya no Uta. Some people say it's like Silent Hill but with cute anime girls

I didn't play Silent Hill so I'm not sure if it's true.

I miss her.
Rin>Suzu>Hanako>Misha>Emi>Lilly>Shizune
Haven't done Lilly's route yet, and have only done good endings so far.

Hisao dying horribly if he doesn't make a friend for a festival is not on you. Especially when you consider he didn't end things on a bad term with Rin, he easily could have befriended here without joining the art club. The manly picnic is all on Hisao who is too independent in his behavior to really count as a player character. Additionally was Hisao dying really a failure anyway? I mean Kenji would have also been devastated in a way that ultimately would have destroyed his life. I say Hisao's sacrifice was worth it.
