So, as of right now, they're at 15 times their original monetary goal, and only 5% of the time until the deadline has passed. Talk about underestimating demand.

They are either going to cut the fundraiser short, or they will offer more art books. They might have to hire a professional to handle all the mailing, but considering the money they have and are probably going to get...

Jokes aside, it makes me wonder what they are planning for the art book as we speak. Maybe they'll do something fancy with the stand in Anime Expo. Maybe it'll be so insane, it'll even get on the news (I severely doubt that, but it's possible.) The more I think about it, the more I want to go to Anime Expo!!

Even if you assume that half of what they have now will go towards making the items for the people who participated in the Kick starter, that's more than a $5000 budget. Does anyone know the average budget for a small Anime Expo stand?

I will be endlessly amused if they were forced to limit the number of those buttons.
That would put a silly grin on my face too if that happened. It looks like they left themselves plenty of lead time to get any extras needed for internet orders made. I suspect the limits are more a factor of the labor involved in packaging, addressing and shipping the items. Plus I'm sure they will have to run off additional art books and buttons for the actual expo. Unless they decide to show up, set up a table, put up a sign that says "SOLD OUT" and spend the rest of the time there chilling out.

If I could get hold of one of these I would be willing to pay silly amounts of money for it. If they dont release any more on the kickstarter I will be haunting ebay after the expo trying to find one.

Sold out in three days...

Maybe they should consider doubling the number available (at least). Especially since the number of <$20 backers are less than a tenth of the 490 for the 20 and over group.

Limit Supply.. Increase Demand.

Not to say they couldn't do a 2nd printing after AX to satisfy any lingering demand.
After all if we all buy a copy now, there'll be no-one left that'll want one at AX.

The demand from here and the demand at Anime Expo are pretty much going to have a tiny overlap. Cause unless all the forum lurkers are planning to descend on them in a silent, lurking horde in LA most everyone who posted about getting it from the kickstarter is getting it because they ain't going there; no way, no how.

Great, "a silent, lurking horde".... Now I'm picturing people coming up to their table and buying the art book without making eye contact or speaking, then scurrying away with the book in an anonymous brown paper bag.

Aww Shit!
Now I want to go to AX just to video people buying the Art Book as if it was some clandestine dealings in Contraband.. or Government Secrets.

Come on, I'm sure that there will be people who'll buy an art book for a cripple porn game proudly and with dignity!

There are still people who were forced to settle for the buttons after all. And newbies who were unlucky. And people too shy to go on these forums and spill out their life stories.

EDIT: Also remember that there were 2 mil blog posts and a significant amount were from California. Even if you assume that there were only 10,000 people who loved the game in California, at least 1% are bound to be crazy enough to go to Anime Expo which would be an overwhelming number of a 100 of people in the KS stand. Then there's all the people that have played KS and aren't up to current news, so when they wander into Anime Expo, they'll go "Holy fuck!" and shell over their money.

Of course, I suck at statistics, so these calculations are probably way off.
