Im sorry fanboys, No Im Not But this girl is the most aggravating, selfish, worthless person on Katawa Shoujo.
My god... she is a waste of time and space. Even Rin in her bullshit at least gave some thought-provoking theories about life and had the courage to change herself without the fuckest of clues on how to do it. In Hanako there is nothing except a shell of a person whose only claim to fame is that people feel sorry for her. Which is the exact opposite of what Katawa Shoujo was trying to do.

Katawa Shoujo is a visual novel that challenges the viewer to see past the disability, instead of looking down on them and giving them pity, but instead trying to have a relationship with them. As equals.

The way that Hanako was written makes her story arc incapable of reaching that goal. And with her giving no kind of support whatsoever, Hanako is a liability of the worst kind, and only serves as White Knight porn.
I applaud you, sir. Truly glorious. Could I have your business card?

I can't help but feel that Shizune would be pleased as punch to learn that she is the most hated katawa shoujo.

Misha; however, it's hard to pick a least favourite when you don't dislike any of them.

Makes you wonder if he even completed the path or just saw a shy scarred girl and decided she has to be his nemezis.

Seriously though, upon introspection i just wouldn't have the patience or the emotional strength to deal with Hanakos timid nature. And i like sex. Alot.

But i did like her path, especially when it bitch-slapped all the white-knight personas out there as this gentlemen has learnt.
In fact if theres anything i don't like about her it would be her fans, which of whom that "love letter" was for.

Most likely either Emi or Shizune. Although least favorite still sounds a bit to harsh.

Emi because she does not feel romantic at all. She just feels like some kind of stereotypical boyfriend/girlfriend relationship that has no real meaning to it. I mean i was amazed how much deeper her personality is than what i expected but i still just didn't feel it.

Shizune because she doesn't feel like she could be a girlfriend. Not that i don't think she can be but she feels more like a friend and nothing more. I didn't even realize that she was Hisao's girlfriend after act 2 even if she accepted Hisao's offer.

Although i'd go with Emi because i still had a hell lot of fun with Shizune being sort of a friendly competitive rival.

Shizune, but it's not her fault. The other girls are way better than her.

I still just don't know about Rin. One the one hand, she's philosophically "deeper" than anyone else; however, 90% of what she says is unnecessarily vague. I think the latter has led me to dislike her to some extent.

I have to say that Rin is my least favorite, and I have no idea why. She just doesn't click (to steal other people's phrase) with me.

Yeah, I suppose you could say there's a bit of a disconnect that puts a little more distance between her and the player. But I guess not all dreams can come true, right?

voted Shizune, totally not surprised to see I'm not the only one. my real big issue with her was what her route brought up, that she puts everything (and everyone) into neat little boxes and acts like that's all they're going to be, what's on their box. like how she treats Hisao - if she needs him to be in the 'student council' box, that's all she wants from him. even when he was there at her family's house, half the time it was like he wasn't even there, until she needed him to be in the 'boyfriend' box. not that he spends much time in the 'boyfriend' box. didn't they fuck before they even kissed? I only played through her route once, so I don't remember exactly what happened when, but it was like, "Want to be my girlfriend?" "Sure", and not a damn thing changes until she wants sexytimes. Hisao's still just doing student council work, even when they have that one date not a damn thing happens, if I'm remembering right. the way she put Misha in the 'friend and/or translator' box and pretty much just acted like Misha's love confession never happened killed it for me even more. how cruel is it to be like "nope, don't love you back, but you're still going to be part of the council and be my voice for the rest of the world."

that and just her general attitude, being all snippy with people and pretty much always acting like people were beneath her if they didn't act like she wanted them to. I swear, at the chess scene with Hanako, I wanted to quit playing Shizune's route right there, she was treating Hanako so bad. and I hadn't even done Hanako's route yet.

Rin in second place doesn't surprise me either. she just seems like... like she's not worth the effort. Rin's route is the only one where I got the bad end before I got the good end, and I think that was 'cause I just didn't know what the hell to do with her. I've read the "Ask!" thread, I know a lot of Rin's story was about trying to be understood. I get that. it really worked as the theme. but I just know that IRL, if I tried to get to know Rin, after a while it'd be like "okay, this isn't worth it, I'm trying to talk to you and I can't understand a word you're saying." felt like Hisao got to know her some in act 1, and I hoped she and Hisao could understand each other, but after her route, it was like, okay, nope, not really. not even after all the stuff they went through.

heh, didn't mean to vent this much, but man...

With Shizune, it feels like you'd hit the nail on the head, but you've made one mistake. She didn't need him in the boyfriend box. Rather, she needed him in the dildo box, if you know what I mean.
Otherwise, I overall agree. I guess some people can read her actions differently or like that kind of treatment, but not me. No-no.

On the other hand, as much as I enjoyed Rin, objectively, this is a masssssssssss of effort on Hisao's part. It's nearly the reverse of Hanako's path, where (in Rin's path, that is) you have to be totally selfless and devoted. Because I'm the advocate of the idea that relationships should be balanced and between equals, it was this one major turn-off Rin presented in her path.

Well, can't have it all, I guess. I can totally understand how you could dislike her based on that point.

KS is such a good game that is a shame to see the deaf bitch soil it.
We can only dream of a new edition without Shizune?

Shizune even garbages are more useful than you.
Trolling level: Fail.
Agreed with newnar.

Just to make sure, I'll say it once again :
I don't "hate" Shizune because I think she's a bad part of the game.

No, her route is relatively enjoyable on its own, and she's quite improtant in act I and in some of the other character's routes.

I merely dislike Shizune because she happens to be the kind of person I find it hard to like. End of story.

Haters and trolls can go off themselves.

See, the way you wrote it now is both quite different and contradictory to what you wrote just a few posts ago.
Also, the previous post seemed like trollage at its worst, so I don't know if you did or did not expect bashing, you surely deserved it.

Hanako's path is her trying to crawl out of her pit of loneliness and trying to get her beloved person see past her seeming fragility and into the growing woman inside. It has educationary value as with other paths, and given what her exact path teaches (don't be overprotective, and don't go trying to think you know best what's good for everyone else), I had to like that route.

You have every right to dislike her or her route. Just communicate it the way you did in the last post, not the first one, and we'll be fine.

Also, spoiler for real life, I believe it is healthy to like sex. Which is why I like Lilly even more after finding out a certain *secret*. Fufufufu
