That's... scary. Almost wishing others around you had a disability to make them unique because they fought through it? I can understand why you are thinking it, though.

I can definitely relate to this, the first few days after finishing each character made me feel...something...it was the worst with Lilly cause she was my favourite (and she was the last route I played which meant there wasn't anymore KS to go on with!).

I did have lost in appetite and I felt a little directionless, couldn't get any work done. I wish I could have remained in that world with them. This was my first VN, the story and music was so well written I guess it all caught me off guard emotionally.

But all that's left are good feelings now, you admire the story and cherish the characters you've gotten to known. Makes you feel like a better person really :D

Yes i really do feel the same way, I finished all five stories within two days. (I don't have a job or school and some big insomnia problems) I loved all story lines equally and they really engrossed me but now that i am done i am left with a feeling of sadness because i am already done. And seeing that i already am someone who gets his head easily stuck in the clouds I constantly catch myself thinking about them and about how it would be if they were real and here, how would I react or act. Nonetheless I would really like to thank the developers of KS for this wonderful experience it wont quickly leave my thoughts.

To Ilovelily(gr)
The main reason the people around you seam empty is probably because you dont know their story yet, everyone around you (almost) have another history, it might not be that special - and probably wont be as special as these girls, but its unique anyways.
Its a little "horrible" to wish for them to have a BAD background just so they could seam more, ehrm, unique?
Haha, sorry if I seam a little cruel - I dont mean it at all. (:
After playing Lilly's route I started eating pizza with a knife and a fork ^^ I'm such a gentleman.

If it's one thing I've learned from this ga...er.. experience, it's that everyone has a story. Even someone who, on the outside, may appear perfectly normal, might have something that they struggle with internally. We all have life experiences. While some may have scars to show for it, other's may be bottling it up inside.

I encourage you, take the time to get to know those around you. Don't write them off as empty slates. Engage with them. I think you'll be surprised at what you find.

I know I have.

This piece of art indeed goes into your head, in good ways and in bad ones, too. I had tears in my eyes going through the story, cried like a baby once or twice, and I am in my thirties. Totally lost my sex drive somehow and I am okay with it. Fell in love with Lilly and was hurt when she went away. Thought my self a useless failure, but - thanks to Emi - decided to finally do something to change things. Started doing sports again, running despite a hurt ankle, because pain won't stop me this time. Finally talked to a woman I used to greet on the train station for over a year - while I am sure that nothing will come out of it, I managed to somehow acquire more resolve than I had in years.

This was not the first visual novel that moved me, there were others, like Kana little sister, Crescendo, or Ever17. But this one has moved me in a very different way. The other ones were just emotional porn, Katawa Shoujo actually made me to do something about my own life.

Like Hisao, I'm more of a coffee drinker, but after playing, it's made me realize what sharing a cup of tea with someone you care about can do.

Since having played, I've made a commitment to sharing a cup of tea with my wife and just talking in the evening at least once a week. It's a great time of just putting all of the craziness of the world aside, and being able to talk to each other, one on one. In those moments, time truly does stand still.

Definitely something I will continue to do.

Good for you that your wife is okay with you playing H-games :D
Here's a piece of advice from a passionate tea lover - the one I would give Lilly in a heartbeat - try a cup of Oolong Kwai Flower - especially with your wife. It is a not a too strong oolong with osmanthus blossoms in it, with sweet mellow taste and peachy fragrance. I have to meet someone yet who didn't enjoy a cup of that one, but go for the best grade you can get, cheaper ones can be somewhat disappointing if you know how it actually ought to taste like.

I'll have you know I turned that option off ;) That's the reason why i'm generally not drawn to VN's... too much fan service, not enough substance. But this one... this one was different. It was a truly life changing experience, that didn't need those scenes to prove a point.

And I will try that! Is that something you have to purchase online, or can you find it in your every day grocery store?

To be honest, I don't know how the grocery stores look like in the USA, haven't been there yet, but here in Germany you'll get that one in specialised tea shops. There is a German tea company, though, that also sells in the USA and I know for sure that their teas are very good. Here is the tea I meant: http://shop.tgtea.com/store/product/509 ... r-Organic/

My my, it is a unique experience that "pervert game about cripple girls" brings together people all over the world in such a heartwarming way.

Looks like they are out of stock, but I sent them an email to see if they will be receiving any soon.

Also, I might be wrong, but it doesn't look like it comes in a tea bag... and as you can see I am a true tea beginner. Do I need some sort of filter?

Don't drink bagged tea if you can avoid it because you not only get a taste of paper in the beverage, the tea in the teabags is tea dust - grounded cheap large leaves at best, crushed rejects of the manufacturing process at worst. Always go for tea leaves if you can, even if it is more expensive and time consuming. In my personal experience the best way to prepare tea is in a Japanese yokode kyusu (the cute teapots with side handles). Many of them have got a stainless steel sieve inside, and plenty of rooms for the tea to "flower" - when tea is manufactured, the leaves are rolled and they unroll in the pot. If they have got more room for the unrolling, you will be rewarded by a more nuanced taste.

This is what I am talking about:

I know that preparing the tea that way takes time, but it is actually not a chore. Especially making tea for someone you love *sigh*

Used to do that a few years ago for my fiancee. She was actually kind of my personal Katawa Shoujo in a way, had a motorbike accident once that left her with some scars outside and inside. I tried to - as they say in visual novels - protect her, and even managed to do that reasonably well, also due to my (for a layman) quite deep medical knowledge. Unfortunately one of the aftereffects of the accident, that manifested years later, was epilepsy, and the anticonvulsiva she had to take totally changed her personality, and the new personality that has emerged out of it did not love me.

Wow! Sounds like a very rewarding endeavor. You definitely have spiked my curiosity... I'm gonna have to try that out. I'll go ahead and buy one of those pots, and hopefully the website you linked me to will stock back up on that tea!

Man... I'm really sorry to hear that... I can't even begin to imagine how that must have been... to have grown so close to someone and then have medications tear her away from you... I'm truly sorry that that's something you have had to experience. Are you still in contact with her?

There are other very good teas you can find on that site, but Kwai Flower is a very good start because it is very forgiving to mistakes. Many teas aren't, especially Japanese ones.

Yep, it was a difficult time for me, I moved to a different part of the country to be closer to her and then all that happened, and she herself moved to a different town soon after and stopped answering the phone. I think I really know how Hisao feels on Lilly's bad ending. Guess it was very close to home :?

I think someone on this forums wrote that people who are somewhat older than teenagers are moved more by this game because they've got more experience to relate to. I guess this is right. I also can add that it is probably also a game that a male audience can relate more to because it shows the male side of romance. Compare that to romantic comedies where women go through boxes of tissues and men tend to fall asleep
