I don't think they have Fred Perry in Japan or America do they? But yeah Fred Perry can be pretty trendy in the UK. Also, the vest grew on me. I had to do a double take the first time I saw it though.

In Japan they do - in fact they have special "Fred Perry Japan" made in Japan with Japanese fittings. I tell you it's terrible because it's slim fit and cannot even fit other type of Asian (Chinese) bodies!

Don't be too hard on Jigoro, his mother was killed by an argyle sweater vest. It's all right there in his biography.

I like it, not least because I have a similar one I sometimes wear. It keeps you nice and warm and is very comfortable over a shirt; and, dangit, it is stylish, in a lovely old-fashioned way.

I wear one on occasion with a nice british cut suit jacket. Gets the ladies talking.

But hisao's color and pattern choice makes me think his mother got it for him.
