I am not sure if this is right place to ask, but I was wondering if any of the devs wouldn't mind being interviewed over skype for a podcast? The podcast is called the mondocoolcast. I think it would be interesting and I am sure the fans would like to hear what the devs sound like and to get the word out more that this wonderful game has come out.

Oh, another thing. I know that each route was helmed by a different writer, but what about Act 1? Did each writer just write the scenes with certain characters in them, or was Act 1 more of a collaborative effort?

EDIT: also, I read about how on 2ch, the people there are insulting katawa shoujo because it's "discriminatory," any thoughts on that?
Sankaku's a tabloid, and they've cherry-picked responses. The 2ch threads can be seen for yourself here.
What about the people who don't speak Japanese?
During the production of Katawa Shoujo I learnt Japanese.

It's not that hard if you have 4-5 years to spare.

The game was great, pretty amazing actually. The routes are interesting, brings the world to a new and different light, and ok, Kenji might be a nutter, but he makes the game a little more unpredictable. Definitely a plus point there. Each of the routes gives room for discussion as well, but isn't that how all games are supposed to be? Otherwise they won't be as memorable IMO.

Btw, Is there any chance of this game having voices tho? To me thats really the only downside to the game. Sure, we can use our imagination to see how they'd sound like, but its way more interesting to see how the creators of the game would wanted them to have sounded like. I don't even mind paying for the game if you voiced them... Cause its a really well made game.
Q: There aren't any voices. Are you interested in hiring some voice actors?
A: No. We decided on this early in development for a number of reasons, including (but not limited to): sheer amount of dialogue, the need for VAs for every character, and bloating of the already somewhat large number of developers. Please don't apply to be a voice actor, because we won't accept any. Modifying the game to include voices without official permission is also against our license.

Its a pity actually,....... The game would have been pretty much perfect with Voices.

For the last couple of days, I've seen that the .torrent (for Windows) has a lot of seeds (I think μTorrent gave up after 4,500) and thousands of peers.
Are you keeping an eye on how many downloads are being done? It'd be neat to see how popular this is.

I was going kinda offtopic actually, saying that for the non-Japanese speakers Sankaku is pretty much the only source of Japanese reactions.

Now I have to think of a quection to stay on topic, hmm... Isn't is against the law to be selling stuff like artbooks since it was originally Raita's idea, or Japan has a law that allows that? Also were there many books left after it was over (were they popular)?

Raita, like the rest.of the devs, is technically covered by the contributor's licence.

Also, he only created the characters, not the stories, art etc. It would be an interesting.court case.

Besides, I bekieve thd artbooks were sold at cost, neaning no pfofits...

Hmm. If I recall correctly, Raita didn't give much more than images and disability concepts. It was the work of Four Leaf Studios to transform the original concept into the heroines of Katawa Shojo. (heck, did they even have names at first?) There is simply separation to make a case of Raita being owed anything but recognition for the original idea. (This would be different if this was a commercial undertaking--some sort of liscensing deal would have been made with Raita.)

What could Raita sue for, anyways? This is all volunteer work.

Like Hisao I was wondering if there is a special meaning or reason why Rin always wears long sleeves with a knot or is this just the way she likes it?

Was Hisao's scar intentionally not drawn?

And second question, if that line isn't what you consider the best line, what is?
It's the menstruation joke from Rin's festival scene. I don't have a personal favourite.

This question is actually what has been annoying me most since playing through four of the routes. :P
Maybe he doesn't love her?

Katawa Shoujo devs, I think.

1. Was it difficult to come up with different stuff for Kenji to do in each route?
2. Were any sideways references to fan memes intentionally put into any of the routes?
1. As hard as coming up with any other content
2. No.

Nicol composed the vast majority of tracks.
