Re: Ask!
Yamaku is stated to be just a few minutes away from a hospital, which presumably comes with a pharmacy, whether integral to the complex or independently operated.
That determined, the logistics can be taken care of in many different ways. Most medicinals can be dispensed through the Nurse's office for general convenience, and a ledger can be kept to make accurate bulk orders in addition to keeping a general over-the-counter supply.
Medication requiring cold storage generally still has a short shelf life left over after being stowed at ambient temperature, so it's perfectly possible to keep a small supply at hand and go reload every three or five days. A medical +2-+8 fridge can be plugged in just as easily as a standard fridge and doesn't require any special skill to maintain, should the Nurse and his staff have one in Yamaku's lineup.

Shattering your dreams since '94. I also fought COVID in '20 and '21, and all I got was this lousy forum sig.
Re: Ask!
As long as you follow the derivative work guidelines, it's fine. In short, do not use any material directly from KS. That is art, script, music etc.CobraArts wrote:Dear Aura,

To the Hivemind.
You mentioned in an interview that you were sort of forced to write a anal H-scene, do to most of the scenes being vanilla. And while it was a fun read I wonder: why did you not try and write some other type of H-scene, like oral, if you weren't quite comfortable with the whole anal thing?

Re: Ask!
Sometimes it is good to write about things that make you uncomfortable. Once I started viewing it as a challenge, I started to think of a way to make it my own, and the result is what wound up in the game. I thought it was fucking hilarious at the time--I've cooled on it now, but I also read through it a lot.ArcCain wrote:To the Hivemind.

I believe you said that you were also pressured into trying to make it serious, but were able to "veto" that pretty fast. How would the scene have fit into the overall story/tone progression if the alternate version had come to light? Something tells me that slapping a serious anal scene over the lemony scene we actually got and calling it a day wouldn't have fit right as the timeline is now.

No, and there's no easy way for me to find out either (and I'm too lazy to do the hard way). The shortest is probably some "bridging" scene in act 1, longest I couldn't say.

I think what he menat by "clarify" was by what standard it should be the shortest/longest. Wordcount? Lines? Time running when on auto-mode?Comrade wrote:Is it stated anywhere?
I once did a word/linecount by act not by scene. If you want that, PM me.

Re: Ask!
I never even wrote a more serious version of the scene, and have no idea where it would have gone if I had. The sex bits in Emi's path were always kind of silly to begin with, because I imagined Emi as the sort of person who finds sex to be a great way to have fun with another person. I doubt she'd take it "seriously" in any context.SpunkySix wrote:TheHivemind wrote:Sometimes it is good to write about things that make you uncomfortable. Re: Ask!
i was wondering if doing a topic on KS merchandise IDEAS and concepts (without actually making any or promoting anything) is allowed or not due to copyright
why? because i'm curious what other KS fans would've liked to have with them from the KS world like ideas for clothing (besides just being a beige t-shirt with the heart logo), utility items, stuff like that. only ideas and nothing more is what i want to be in this topic. do i get permission for this Aura or any moderator? :3 i understand if not ^.^

Katawa Shoujo is under Creative Commons - BY-NC-ND-3.0 That means that you cannot use anything KS related to profit, and as such, Merchandise, unless made by 4LS (Which there are none) cannot be sold, nothing to stop you making some for yourself, however no company will make you such things for free.Kibaro wrote:i was wondering if doing a topic on KS merchandise IDEAS and concepts (without actually making any or promoting anything) is allowed or not due to copyright

Basically, you could contact a company to make you personally a figurine, however they could not mass produce it and sell it to multiple people without them going through the same process.

Of course talking about ideas and hypotheticals is fine. See for example any of the threads concerning a speculative sequel to KS.
