During their date Lilly mentions to Hisao that Akira felt that the strict school they attended was suffocating and she left for a job as soon as she was able to. In Japan, only elementary and middle school are mandatory. Does that mean Akira never even attended high school? (and somehow still managed to become a lawyer despite law bar exams in Japan being almost impossible to pass even for seasoned Tokyo U students)
Sisterhood: True Edition. Hanako epilogue I wrote. Now expanded with additional chapters.

A question to Aura(and, by extention, his partner in writing).

Rin's route. It's...outstanding. It's hard to imagine, that someone could design such a character and storyline without referring to his/her own...how should i put it...clouds in the head. So, basically, question is - do you feel like this? Do you have intimate understanding of the issues, which you provided to Rin and Rin!Hisao, or it's just marvellous imagination? In short...(sorry for broadness) - are you "weird" yourself?

She transferred to another, secular, school.

The organization arose organically, because it had to.

It started with a bunch of assholes in a thread, then on a forum, then on ANOTHER forum. Kind of like life evolving in a swamp or puddle of primordial shit.

Without the early attempts of some to seize TOTAL CONTROL over the project it probably would've fallen apart, but those same people wound up drifting away/being kicked off because once things settled to a point where everyone started to work as something vaguely resembling a team they weren't necessary anymore.

Once the organization was in place, we all more or less ignored it. The leader was whoever happened to be awake and willing to make decisions, for the most part.

About Misha:

http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=335ftzo&s=5 <---- For reference

She's a lesbian, TheHivemind says it's canon. But judging by the linked image, my question is: Is she an on-the-fence lesbian who could become bisexual if given the love and attention she longs for by a guy like Hisao or a full-on lesbian, and that scene is just her doing her best to get a rise out of him? The scene in the image occurs after he convinces her to look on the bright side of life, and she's obviously trying to spur him into saying he likes her as more than a friend. So, in showing that he genuinely cares for her and wants to help her get past her troubles, it's pretty much implied afterwards that Hisao may have grown on Misha to the point of romantic interest, no matter how slight that interest is.

EDIT: Can I get a more detailed answer from TH? I'm trying to get an idea of how far she leans towards one side so I can gauge how much of a conflict it would cause in the fanfics I plan on writing.

After Shizune crushes Hanako is chess she says
"If you love chess that much but can't give it your all, it's because you love the memories attached to it and not the game," and she concludes that someone taught Hanako how to play.

Perhaps Hanako played with one of her parents? or maybe she learned it at the orphanage or something

I don't think I'm weird like she is, at all. If anything, my personality is quite the opposite. That said, even the most taciturn person has their secret inner world with strange workings, mine just isn't full of non sequiturs and weird associative thinking. In general, I don't think it's a rare observation to feel unable to explain yourself to another person, or to feel unable to really understand another person. Most of the time, most people aren't bothered by this. Rin is just an exaggeration of some very natural traits almost everyone has.
<Aura> would you squeeze a warm PVC bottle between your thighs and call it "manaka-chan"
<Suriko> I would do it if it wouldn't be so hard to explain to my parents

Ah why the heck not?

To Aura, since the last reply really intrigued me, about a scene in Rin's path:

Was therefore the Reverse-Escapism scene (where Hisao remembers walking the streets at late night alone and takes Rin for a stroll) just something you happened to hear about from someone else/something you came up with in your head, or was that a rarer case where you did draw from personal experience? I gotta ask about this specific instance, because to me it seems so hard to imagine someone would 'get' the point and feeling of such an activity so well if they hadn't done it themselves at least a few times before.

It's complete fabrication. Moreover, I don't think there's a single thing in Rin's path that's from "personal experience".

...But hey, all these scenes felt so...true?
In fact, many of us had something similiar in our lives...at one point or another...
Oh wait, that answers it.

Also Forer-effect probably applies. ^_^

If they did, then it makes me happy and I take it as a compliment for my writing ability.

Curiouser and curiouser indeed. I mean, I already knew by and large that my attachment to that scene stemmed from having actually done this during my youth for the exact same purpose Hisao states, but I wasn't exactly certain how much of this feeling came from authorial intent and how much was just myself. Guess it really was all me then - thanks for the answer.

EDIT: As to the Forer-effect, I really doubt it'd apply in my case. It's one thing to have something be 'kinda-like' what happened to you and you just jump on all the similarities, but in that scene Hisao did almost everything exactly the same as I did (choosing directions at random, doing this at something like 4 am so that even the drunks have gone home by that time and it's almost morning by the end of the stroll, doing it primarily to recover from any troubled thoughts or emotions you might be feeling). I mean, sure the Forer-effect usually applies in the vast majority of things, but with that scene, and based on Aura's answer, it really feels more like an extremely longshot coincidence that it was that accurate.

Or I dunno *shrug*. Either way, damn intriguing.

I got it, i got it. Last bits of data were surprisingly deep.
...Aura has damn good understanding of "secret inner world" principles. Or at the very least - very good nose for such things.
It all makes sense now, right. Rin feels so right and real just because she's exaggeration, not fabrication. Despite being 100% fabrication. It is utterly hilarious, if you think twice. Aura, who kinda admitted up there that entire route is basically product of his creativity, actually created something(without referring to himself or anyone else) very realistic, something that RL lyric weirdos understand very well and consider "true"...
Without being such a person himself, without peeking at examples, and, after all, being "quite the opposite". And he still weaved proper, realistic pattern of thinking for such a character...

Damn, i sound like a fanboy

Damn, i am fanboy. Gotta gather stalking club...

In short, it is not Barnum effect, rather very realistic depiction of personalities. We aren't so different, after all.
