She's a (former) Catholic schoolgirl. The cliches demanded it.

Cliche is probably also the reason why she got many suitors even in her old school. Which was an all-girls one. Well, that fits to her name...

well it's not so much of a cliche , girls from all catholic girls school are very often addicted to sex or alcohol or cigarettes or a combination of those things
as they tend to break out from their very strict catholic teachings with such things, lilly is exactly the same, she likes sex and alcohol, the liking for alc.
she got from akira so it's something that runs through their family maybe from the scottish side, the sex addicition is from her blindness i think. :)

But i don't mind at all they she loves those things. She didn't seem to be conflicted about it and that it's not what her catholic school did teach her.
As sex for fun is a sin for catholics. :)

Pretty much for all the Christendom in fact. And Islam ... And Judaism ... Don't know for Asian belief, but that would probably be the same. Sex and religion never liked each other.

Plus; most catholic school don't give more than a few hours of religious teaching a years. You don't suddenly become a Nun.

Na, she merely has an adolescent sex drive

I shuckled at that quite a lot

Really?
Yeah, kinda. At least to that extent. I don't know, I just am not comfortable with the idea of trusting someone that much.

In other news, here is a mod I just saw: A Half Life 2 Mod about being blind and navigating through the level by hearing only. Have not played it yet because I just saw it but I am definitely going to check it out!

That is not true.

That does not sound reasonable either. Also you just don't "break out" and start doing all the things that may have been prohibited only because they were prohibited. It depends on the person and not all people are alike

That's not true. Ever heard of "Go forth and multiply"? Contraception is a sin, yes, having sex is not.

Can we please stop with the stereotypes that aren't even remotely true? :/

"Go forth and multiply" means that sex without purpose (like for fun) IS a sin. That stereotype is true. If it wasn't, us westerners with Christian roots wouldn't need so much to fight against slut-shaming

"Go forth and multiply" means in the first place that people have to go forth and multiply, nothing more. It encourages sex for conception, yes, but it does not make any claim about sex being bad or something like that. That is something people interpret into it because they are feeling like it or something.
I am officially a Roman Catholic and I attended church school and went to church, for some time, at least, and I honestly cannot remember that people put such a stigmata on sex (not that it ever interested me much but still).

From my 13 Years of Private Catholic Elementary, Middle, and High school I was certain the view on sex (From Western Roman Catholics) was that individuals aren't suppose to have sex until AFTER marriage. Also contraception are also looked down upon since it prevents procreation. Which again from the Catholic view sex is NOT a sin if it's:

1) Two individuals (Male and Female) who are married and doing it as an act of love, not physical satisfaction.
2) Has the chance to procreate a new life (No contraception)

But the phrase "go forth and multiply" I don't remember it being linked at all with Catholics teachings other than possibly connected with Adam and Eve. But the only thing I could think of is again relating to marriage where a married couple should "go forth and multiply" continuing the life cycle. (Don't count me 100% on this, but the view on sex and contraception I know should be right unless teachings changed in the past few years.)

Sorry if it seems I'm attacking you guys, it's just I had this hammered in my head from school and wanted to point out the Catholic standings on these.

Geez; I wasn't expecting my comment on her being a former Catholic schoolgirl to spark this much debate. I was just pointing out that this is one of the more famous porn cliches out there, and since the RAITA sketch specified that Lilly's route should be a bit cliched, this was a good choice.

Well, considering how little self-restrain she had, people would think her stereotype acts as facade. Not me though. I'm a fan after all. Considering if her addiction only with her loved one I think it's good.

I'm a conservative person, so to me and my religion, sex before marriage is absolutely forbidden. Drinking is also forbidden, much less getting wasted. I think all religions have same view about sex before marriage. It just people interpret in different ways. Dunno about alcohol though. Having sex isn't bad as long as you do it with your partner, i.e husband or wife. It's encouraged even. Contraception is a sin.

So...did anyone else have the track "The End Run" from Mass Effect 2 playing in their heads when Hisao was running after Lilly in the end?

I dont think that "copy religion" in Sweden has anything against it *rolleyes*
Nor satanism or atheism. Hmm, let me see - I don't know about Scientology so whatever.

Anyways my view on Lilly is that her acting the way she does is not just a facede, its just her way of acting - sure she might not be the perfect stereotype - but that doesnt mean she's "acting to be good and proper" (:
