Not as crazy as the poll would have you believe. The poll was hacked a long time ago. Back when the poll was viable, Hanako held the top spot, with Rin in second. This is still probably true today.

Has a comparison ever been drawn between Rin and Osaka from Azumanga Daioh?

I thought of this once, since Osaka and Rin are one of my favorite characters of all time, but I think Osaka has a different kind of... uniqueness.
Rin is rather confused and lives in another world, but Osaka thinks different, but she is more reality-bound. (I don't mean that she is slow, she just thinks different: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D55mR_sBS4I)

The reason they won't is that the original point of the poll was to test the waters on how the fanbase viewed the different girls. The devs used this as tool for feedback. Its served its purpose, and with development past the stage where a poll like this could be useful, the devs don't have much reason for reopening it. After all, what's stopping other script kiddies from hacking another poll?

Personally, I think they should start a new poll after release just for the shits and giggles.

Rin has some cute Shimmie Art too why call for some moe factor... and I've to admit her original design (back when Niji was still alive and Misha was blonde) make her the most actractive of the girls (INMHO).

I like Rin the most because... Well I guess I like personalities that make me go, "what?"

Plus, I guess everyone thinks a little weirdly sometimes, and they feel like they're one of the only ones (though I think it's actually somewhat common), so they can relate to that.

Anyway, people ask what's up with the poll every couple of pages. Should just remove the poll (if possible) or close the topic, I think. It just bugs me.
