On that subject, I'd be curious as to what the ratio is of people who knew of this long ago and watched the progress vs. those who stumbled on it and found it to be a nice idea to try vs. those who stumbled on it looking for cripple porn. The three groups may be surprisingly even. Hopefully the third isn't too large, even if most were probably converted to feelsdom.

I knew of it maybe a year or two before release but only by title and basic concept via Wikipedia. No forum or Googling or keeping tabs. Then I was searching for...Not cripple porn, but porn.
Then I remembered it and became very curious about how it'd work...

The closest i'd be to any of those groups, would be the second one.
As I said before, it was more of a "What are these guys talking about? And WHY are they talking about it?" than anything.

I would be in second group too. I was looking for freeware eroge with good story and somebody at some forum mentioned this one, so I tried it. It has so nice story that it would be great VN even without ero part

This topic might require its own thread or poll.
I stumbled upon it in a way. I was circlejerking for my first time and asked if someone could give me a folder. Someone gave me a Hanako folder, so I looked her up to see who she was. That's how I found the game. I didn't actually play it 'till a few weeks after that.
I miss her.
