What the sex scenes get replaced with is not final I guess, but we are currently not planning to write some replacement scenes that contain the same events, except without the sex. If you don't read them you'll miss whatever's in them.

This, coupled with your statement from the Fakku Q&A that each path will have multiple h-scenes, makes me feel like those of us who don't want hentai with our story will be getting a gutted version of the game. And I don't like that feel.

You can skip the sex scenes in A Song of Ice and Fire if you want. Just don't complain when you miss all the plot points that are related to those sex scenes.

I couldn't leave without saying thanks for this. I didn't care much for HP but I never... saw all those references like that!

Brogurt, are you saying you are so adverse to the h-scenes that you'll choose to play without them regardless?

I was (am) actually very naive and didn't even realise KS was a eroge until visting the blog. I found out about the game when it was mentioned in a best of vn review thing. Scanning the website I completely missed the single sentence where it said this game will contain mature content - I just downloaded it based on the screenshots and what I briefly read in the review. There isn't even any mention of it in the manuel, which I did read beforehand to get an idea of what I was about to play.

So after completing it and visting the blog I read Could Be So Much More and went through the same process of changing my perspective as Ellume. I'm quite looking forward to the whole game, still much more for the story, but also for the sensitive and creative portrayal of sex that I have little doubt the devs can pull off.

As an aside, I didn't realise that there would be multiple scenes with each girl! What a surprise that would have been...

I think it would take some extreme finesse to put any important dialogue into a sex scene and not have it come off as completely ridiculous.

That said, it would be amazing. And in Rin's case, entirely fitting to the character.

Imagine if every huge twist in the story occurred during a single sex scene; massive revelations pouring out, one after the other, in a torrent of storytelling genius mixed with horrendous in-world timing.

Hisao and Hanako lie together under the stars, wrapped in their picnic blanket, and begin making sweet love... only for Rin to come bounding up with horrible news, Emi's been shot by Kenji! Suddenly, Lilly lands right in the middle of this jarring scene - literally, after parachuting from a crashing, burning plane piloted by none other than the school nurse, who is actually a communist spy who has been lacing the students' medication with mind-control devices! By the end of the whole ordeal, Hisao is on a quest with his rag-tag team of die-hard cripple girls to destroy the re-surging Communist Bloc and take down zombie Stalin before his own mind becomes another slave to the Red Legions. Sure hope you didn't skip THAT sex scene, girls and boys, or you're going to be wondering where the FUCK that came from.

I've yet to read a VN where something important happened during a sex scene. The only thing the first scene between the protagonist and one of the females does is make the protagonist realize that he likes the female, and he usually wants a better relationship with her afterwards. The other scenes just reinforce the protagonist's feelings for the female character. I would shocked if some unexpected plot did occur during a sex scene, it would make for a nice change of pace.
