what is the deal with Time-warp tan?

How did this catch on? It was a silly blog entry a long time ago. Then all of the sudden this time warp tan is all over the shimmie. What, how did this happen?

There's 9 pictures of Time Warp-tan on the shimmie; that's out of 1648 images. Hardly a huge deal, but she's pretty kawaii though~
