Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has had any extremely obscure passwords for the reCaptcha thing on the shimmie. I recently recieved one that was so obscene that I just had to post a picture here:



Can someone please explain what that is? (I felt that the last two comments were rather fitting)

I also got one that said 'feminism States' on an angry Kenji picture a few days back.

The point of reCaptcha is to get humans to decipher scanned text that a machine can't. Occasionally, the text will be pretty much illegible -- I would guess that the text said "0-3," but you probably couldn't know for sure without the context. Also, the second word is "pummels" in case it wasn't obvious.

Just reload the captcha if you run into indecipherable crap.

reCaptcha knows exactly half of the answers to its own words, so yes, some are pretty indecipherable. It gives you one word that the computer figured out and one it couldn't, so that if you get them both right it now knows the answer for the other one. Hence the motto at the bottom-right: "stop spam, read books". I'm guessing it could figure out "pummels" and was even more clueless about the first than we are. Knowing life, though, it's probably the other way around.

If you wanted to be an ass you could probably figure out which one the computer got stumped on and tell it that it says "penis."

I think Lilly's just supposed to be a generic Japanese ghost (as opposed to the Sadako-type ghost Hanako is).
