should this game keep track of how long you have been playing like many RPGs?

Nah, thats what programs like Wakoopa are for. Played for 7 hours 24 minutes apparently.

I'm pretty sure that the "Play time" display in the menu that pops when you press esc does exactly this. Possibly for only the current playthrough though.

Yeah that only couts from the last time you... did something. I can't remember if it's from booting up or from loading a new game.
In anycase that can get up to a few hours on a single testing session.

I've gotten 5-6 hours at most maybe? My friend has over a hundred, he tries to play it in between matches of halo 3, not to mention he leaves it on all night, and all day. He left it on when he went on vacation for a week.

I think the counter goes as long as your in the middle of a play through, even when its paused.
