Megadeth's I'll be There reminds me of Hanako, especially with Lilly's relationship to her. And the song's mention of fire as a metaphor for trouble.

I'll be there for you, when you walk through the fire
I'll be there for you, when the flames get higher
When nothing fits and nothing seems right
Till the very last breath of my life, I'll be there for you

Here's a more updated list from me. All of theses songs are either Happy Hardcore or just Hardcore. I'll put a youtube link next to each song so you all can see why I chose each song for each character.

Lilly: A New Feeling - Gammer. I think the piano solo at the beginning is very fitting to Lilly's more upper class actions. (
Hanako: Nobody Said It Was Easy - Evil Activities. (
Emi: Hard to get one song to describe here so I chose Working Up a Sweat by DJ Ham and Be Happy, also by DJ Ham. ( ,
Shizune: Domination - Tommyknocker. Easily fits her due to her, well, dominating personality. (
Rin: Easily the hardest to place. The best I can come up with from songs I know is Twisted World by Tommyknocker vs Sunbeam. (

Also, just because:
Kenji - One Of These Days - Evil Activities & Neophyte ( Manly song for manly men.

This is how I imagine Lilly's voice:
Close Your Eyes - Stacey Kent
Ces Petits Riens - Stacey Kent
Mieux vaut n'penser à rien
Que n'pas penser du tout
Rien c'est déjà
Rien c'est déjà beaucoup
On se souvient de rien
Et puisqu'on oublie tout
Rien c'est bien mieux
Rien c'est bien mieux que tout

Mieux vaut n'penser à rien
Que de penser à vous
Ça ne me vaut rien
Ça ne me vaut rien du tout
Comme si de rien
N'était je pense à tous
Ces petits riens
Qui me venaient de vous

Si c'était trois fois rien
Trois fois rien entre nous
Evidemment
Cà ne fait pas beaucoup
Ce sont ces petits riens
Que j'ai mis bout à bout
Ces petits riens
Qui me venaient de vous

Mieux vaut pleurer de rien
Que de rire de tout
Pleurer pour un rien
C'est déjà beaucoup
Mais vous vous n'avez rien
Dans le cœur et j'avoue
Je vous envie
Je vous en veux beaucoup

Ce sont ces petits riens
Qui me venaient de vous
Les voulez-vous?
Tenez! Que voulez-vous?
Moi je ne veux pour rien
Au monde plus rien de vous
Pour être à vous
Faut être à moitié fou.

While fitting, I prefer the original: The Scientist - Coldplay
I liked your choices for Emi, though.

I agree with your choice for Rin's music Nightdragon; it's kind of random and goes in unexpected directions. I could also see Emi having Working Up a Sweat playing in her headphones as she worked out. Kenji's isn't bad either, but where are the sockpuppets?
To explain, I don't see Kenji as 100% "Manly Rage", but also with small elements of being a lost, lonely little kid playing alone in a corner, making up stories to explain why he is alone and no one will play with him.

My suggestion for Hisao doing Student Council work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Dy2tuF915E
I gotta go with the original Lee Dorsey version for the more bluesy sound than the Devo version.

I love watching y'all come up with things for Emi, then laughing to myself because it is nothing like what I generally listen to while writing her scenes.

Of course, the music we readers associate with the charachters is more a reflection of each individual reader and their interpretation of the the character you create than any of your thought process while fleshing Emi out. :D

Well, not really a song (unless by Iron Maiden), and don't know if it has been said already, but:

Hanako: Phantom of the Opera
Resident "morale officer".

One song I heard in my radio today that reminded me of Hideaki. "Who's that girl" by Eurythmics.

Ahh, Morticia? I would die for her. I would kill for her. Either way, what bliss.

I always think of elevator music for some reason. It seems to fit the chill atmosphere of the game.

Yeah originals are better in discussions like this. I just picked the remade version of it because thats the kind of music I listen to the most. Also, for Misha I got Bring On The Noise by Marc Smith vs. Sharkey. (

Guys, guys. It is clearly Lola by the Kinks. Don't pretend it isn't.

Wrong, that's Akira. Hideaki is Father Figure by George Michael.

I know I have already assigned one song to Kenji earlier in this thread but the "manly song for manly men" did not leave me alone. Here is my preferred version of such a song:

Impossible Dream from Man of La Mancha

The part about "love pure and chaste from afar" is too good to pass up!
