I've been running the linux SMP core since '09 and have to say it would not be a good plan to try it on a production server.
I get many months of stable 24/7 operation, but very occasionally it flakes out and drops the machine.
I can imagine the hilarity that would ensue as the financial database took a shit at around noon on a payday because some joker was running F@H on it.
However, if this server is not critical in any way (and you own it, not your employer) then I would say go for it. Just keep an eye on it.

Welcome back Kota...
Hey, wasn't that a TV show? :)
Thanks, and it was Kotter. Someone did that about 2 weeks ago. Weird, because it was the first time I've heard of it.

Bonus round? Extra credit? Protein not only folded but spindled and mutilated too?
I've got no idea what is causing that Mirage. Sorry.

Any idea how to tell him to dump that core and get a new one?

Delete the Work folder?
That's how I usually do it.

Well, I wasn't certain if I could simply delete it without breaking something.
Seems to work again, though.
Thanks :D

Wow, I didn't realize one work unit would take so long to finish. My lappy's been on for around 10 hours and Im only at around 17%.

Hell yeah, finally got my first 100,000 points. Nothing special, I suppose, but still pretty cool. Thank you PS3<3

100K on a PS3 takes a while. Not bad at all; just keep plugging away.

I've added the team number to my profile and have run the program for a number of hours but I don't seem to be in the team list. Do I have to finish a whole "block", or whatever you call it, before I show up?

Yes and then it might take a few more hours until the list updates.

You know, I've wondered about this thread's popularity for a while as this blog post: http://katawashoujo.blogspot.com/2009/0 ... ranes.html left me with the mistaken impression that it was an origami thing.

Now that I see that it's an automatic program to try to help figure out the workings of proteins and advance medical science, I wish my computer wasn't a piece of shit so that I could join in with this. Here's hoping that the Katawa Shoujo team's research helps save some lives!

That won't prevent you from taking part, I've run the client on an Atom processor and I've been able to contribute
